have a CustomValidator that I am trying to use. I have a couple Validation groups so I set those 2 different groups up in my case. The CutomValidator is validating the field when I click the button and it puts out the error message however its letting the button event insert the data.

I have a login control that is working beautifully on my localhost, but not working on the server. It validates my username & password - and gives me an error if I enter an invalid username/password. However, if I enter the correct username/password, the page refreshes, but does not redirect me to the "ReturnUrl" that I see in the URL. I've seen posts on this, but nothing that I tried worked. I've tried setting the 'MembershipProvider'attribute of the login control. I don't want to set the DestinationUrl...I want it to take what is in the ReturnUrl in the querystring. I don't think it's a web.config issue cuz it works on localhost??
I am using .net 3.5 and I make Windows Service Where my windows service is starting properly and stopping also properly. And I put timer control in that in which interval 1000. But the event is not getting raise what can be the problem OnStart I am makingit timer1.enabled=true and Onstop I am making timer1. enabled =false for debugging purpose I am writing Log Entry at beginning of timer_tick event.
I have been trying to get the ASP 2.0 menu control to work with IE 8, and although it seems to work on VS it does not display correctly in IE 8, but does work with Firefox 3.5.7. What happens is that the base part (or root) menu is displayed correctly. But, when I try and display the sub menus/items all I get is a solid color square where the sub menus/items should be. Anybody have any ideas on this? I am using VS 2005 pro on an XP Pro pc.
I have a text box that is intended for an Email address. I am using a Regular eExppression validation control to validate the email address. When I place the following lines of code in a blank web Form, the validator works properly.
However, when I use the validation control within a CreateUserWizard control, it does not seem to fire but other validation controls (Required and Custom validators) do fire, but not the regular expression validator above for validating the address. The following is my complete web page. The two controls above appear unchanged in the code below, they are simply embedded into the wizard control mentioned.
I expected that clicking on different items in the control would cause each to highlight, but when I click a new item the highlight moves to that item, and previously selected highlight is removed. Is this how the control is supposed to work?
I have applied some asp validation controls on a page ,but on clicking Save button data is getting saved without throwing any validation . But as I am entering data for the next time and then click save button then it's working.

So i've got a website i''ve been working on using the visual studio development server. When I published it to my web server, the menu control sub-items are not showing up in IE8. They do in firefox. They show in both just fine when working through visual studio.
My dev machine: studio 2008, windows 7 64bit
production server: server 2003 standard 32bit, iis6
Could it be a different version of the .net framework?
i m developing an application with richtextbox control and asp spell checker control in it.the prblm faced is that Spell check is happening but the change of wrong spelling is not taking place
The scenario in which it doesnt work is i Put some text in RichTextBox field then click on "spell check" button. It will prompt for the spelling mistakes, but when we select correct spelling it is not copying it in Rich text box contrl.
Note:the same scenario is working when i use simple text box contrl with asp spell checker contrl.
I have a c# control class inside of a dll, then this control is embedded in a web page in an asp.net application by using the object tag. When the dll is compiled with .net 3.5 sp1 and the web application also runs in .net 3.5 sp1, the code works fine. But when the dll is compiled in .net 4.0 and the web application runs in 4.0, the control does not show up in the web page. All I see is a box with an object icon in the upper left corner.
I started to work with this control and I find it better to code it my self instead of using the wizard option that comes as a standard. Can I pass the values directly to the Query in my SqlDataSource when I update a row? I have an AJAX enabled ASP.Net 3.5 app in which I have:
A Master PageA Web Content PageA User ControlMore precisely, there's a Placeholder control in the Web Content Page into which one of many User Controls are loaded (one at a time or none at all).
The basic User Control I'm working with has a bunch of Labels and one DropDown ListBox. The latter control is a date selector - ie. June 2010, May 2010, April 2010, etc. When the user changes the date, since AutoPostBack = true for the control, a PostBack occurs. But when this happens, the User Control disappears!
All I want is for a partial postback to occur so that I can use the new date to repopulate the various Label controls. I even put the Placerholder control in its own UpdatePanel but this didn't resolve anything - the User Control still disappeared.
My hosting service is all messed up and my application keeps recycling. I am not able to figure out why my application is recycling. I am told that my application is using more than 100MB allocated memory but I just do not see what is wrong or how much is the optimized memory is required for my application. So in my master page I am trying to capture if one of the session variables is null and redirect to login page in the master page.in my master page I have the following code:

I have a usercontrol that uses a callback to update itself. If I add the control to the aspx page everything works fine. However, when i add the control using Page.LoadControl and Control.Add on a Placeholder i get the following error: "The target 'ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder1$ctl00' for the callback could not be found or did not implement ICallbackEventHandler". I tryed assigning the ID of the control also which failed with the same error. I am using asp.net 2.0.
This should create a left aligned label that is 100px wide, then the list should show next to it. What happens is that the width is ignored and the list is right next to the label text. If I remove the "AssociatedControlID" parameter it works fine. CSS has no effect on the label width, even using the !Important tag.
all i am using Datapager control with ListView control in my application.where i bind my list view in page_prerender event. my problem is that Datapager control is showing the page records but when i click on the next page ( i.e. if i am on page 1 then clicked on page 2) it will not responding.
i am using my list view in update panel.is the problem with the update panel?
previously when i binded my Listview on pageload it work's fine.

problem is that i am using mootools.js files when i disable these file my code is working fine but when ever i use mootools.js files with AJAX it gives me error.and some code is not working properly in my application....
