Web Forms :: Add A Round And Gradient Style To The Header Of Web Parts?
Jun 3, 2010
I want to change the look of the header of the web parts to have a round-at-corners and gradient look (three images GradientLeft,GradientMiddle,GradientRight)? What's the best way to do this? Do i have to create an entire custom web part chrome just for that? One relevant blog that i found in the internet( http://live.mscommunity.net/blogs/borissevo/archive/2007/10/04/rounded-corners-for-web-parts-in-asp-net-2-0.aspx) doesn't have gradient in the middle and doesn't really work good anyway either
I need to style the asp:Menu so the navigation buttons have rounded corners.
I have a javascript-based navigation menu (not asp.net) that uses images to simulate rounded corner navigation. However, I think I have to use an asp:Menu for my asp.net 4 website instead of a static page navigation menu.
I also plan to use Dynamic Data on multiple tabbed pages.
First time using an Accordion Control and I'm having some trouble with the CSS, as per the subject description. I have only created the headers so far and assigned some basic CSS to them. Right now that CSS is only there to limit the width (and therefore clickable area) of the header to the width of the image that the header is represented by. This works fine until I click on one of the headers and then its width property is lost. Same for the other headers, they are fine for the first click and then after that they lose their style. There is no postback caused by selecting a header so this is not the reason that the CSS is being lost.
I've looked everywhere and googled everything and couldn't find anything good. What I need is a class that is able to draw an image (graphics) with rounded corners (different on each corner is a plus) with a border and gradient fill.
All the examples I find have some flaws (like bad quality, missing functionality etc).
I will use this with a ashx that will draw the image and then show it to the user.
i want to round the corner of top and bottom of asp.net menu.i have done this by adding chiditem with blank name and set image but its not showing properly on all major browser.
I have a column in gridview which displays float values. But while the same value in chart I need to round off to nearest whole number and display it in chart.
This is annoying, because I have to apply this style to every single thumbnail image individually, when there could be any number of them on the screen at any given time. All of the thumbnails are inside a single <div> that groups them together, and I'd like to apply a single style to the <div> that will push the attributes I need down to all of the the <img> elements nested inside, regardless how many thumbnails there are.
Scenario: I have a Gridview where I want to handle the Sorting in a custom control that I've added to the header. I've added this control to my GridView's Header via OnRowCreate event handling. I want the Sort Expressions to persist session to session (via Webparts Personalization)
Here is what I have for adding the custom header control to the GridView Header
[Code]....
This works out well for adding the control, but I can't get anything to persist because these controls are creating initially via postback (per the event) and re-created on all subsequent postbacks. I can't add an If(!IsPostback) because the controls are initially created on the gridview's postback (well at least thats how it's acting when I put it in there) If I were to add this control via the ASP page, not via the Codebehind, I would be able to persist the control. If I try to treat it as though everything is setup correctly, and assign my custom control's controls to [Personalizable], I get a runtime error telling me that I can only have webpartzones in or before Page_init (I'm guessing this is due to when/where the gridview hits the OnRowCreate event). If there is some fundimental logic I'm missing, or best practices that I'm moving away from,
I have a Tab Container that I would like to be able to add a star (*) at the end of the tab header text when there are NEW Users to be approved by the Site Administrator. By default meaning that is what I typed in designer mode is "Users Waiting Approval", but when I load the page I run a routine to see if there are and new users requesting access and at that point durning the page load I would like to change the tab from "Users Waiting Approval" to "Users Waiting Approval *" with the star at the end (*). How can I update this tab header text durning the page load event? Is there some javascript function I can call like set_HeaderText?
I am working with webpart. I have developed webpart but has some issues in managing its personalization/personal settings.
For example when user A gets logged in and personalize any webpart. Then uer B gets logged so it should have default webpart setting or own personal setting webpart.
I am referring following site:

kindly tell how to use these methods or others which are present in sqlprovider
1) SavePersonalizationBlob
2) LoadPersonalizationBlobs
Is there any tutorials or example to help me or any1 can have idea or example etc to
This is my first time working with web parts. Was wondering if anyone can show me how to create a new webpart project in VS2008. I don't see any options for creating a "web part template" when I go to create a new project.
I am having trouble with ASP.NET and trying to use web parts. I am receiving and error. I am using VS 2008, with ASP.NET 2.0. I create a new project and add the webpart manager and then the webpartzone. I build and run the project and receive the error: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.
SQLExpress database file auto-creation error:
The connection string specifies a local Sql Server Express instance using a database location within the applications App_Data directory. The provider attempted to automatically create the application services database because the provider determined that the database does not exist. The following configuration requirements are necessary to successfully check for existence of the application services database and automatically create the application services database:
If the applications App_Data directory does not already exist, the web server account must have read and write access to the applications directory. This is necessary because the web server account will automatically create the App_Data directory if it does not already exist. If the applications App_Data directory already exists, the web server account only requires read and write access to the applications App_Data directory. This is necessary because the web server account will attempt to verify that the Sql Server Express database already exists within the applications App_Data directory. Revoking read access on the App_Data directory from the web server account will prevent the provider from correctly determining if the Sql Server Express database already exists. This will cause an error when the provider attempts to create a duplicate of an already existing database. Write access is required because the web server accounts credentials are used when creating the new database. Sql Server Express must be installed on the machine. The process identity for the web server account must have a local user profile. See the readme document for details on how to create a local user profile for both machine and domain accounts.........................
