I have a simple page that displays a gridview once 3 criteria are inputed. I would like to add an submit button so that the date just not auto populate the gridview.

I have a page with set of TextBox controls, each contorl is binded with one required field validator.These validators should perform only on submit button click, instead in each post back all the validtions are performed.For Instance, on the page if i click on LogOff link button still all the validations performed.
View 6 RepliesI use submit button to post to database which successfully show in gridview but i also want to use thesame button to show a post back as confirmatory page that you have successfully submited a post please, how can i go about the code to perform these function, i use property section of the submit button to do a post back to confirmatory page , the page show but message fail to show in grid view. a simple example of what i was trying to do is this, when u write a post in this forum now , u press a button to submit a post and a confrirmatory message is send to u. what is actually performing the two functions.

iam using the Jquery Uframe with asp.net project.Iam getting a postback problem here.
In side the uframe ,button control getting postback the page even the client side method call also.
i tried with the Html button Control also by setting the type="submit" ,iam facing the same problem.
And I got very limited reference about the uframe(codeflex,codeProject).

View 2 Replies I have some fields to be validated on the server (CustomValidator) which is in a separate user control and my Submit button is in the page not in the user control.
What I have done is, I placed all my Validation Methods in the code behind of my usercontrol (ascx.cs) and the page validation is in the code behind of the page (aspx.cs). I put them in the same ValidationGroupName (fields and Submit button). usercontrol (ascx) is a child of my page (aspx). I have already placed CauseValidation="true" to my Button and UseSubmitBehavior="true". The problem is it does not validate. What could be the problem in this?
Note: I cannot put the the Button to be part of the usercontrol.
Edit:in my aspx page, click event of the button has this.Page.Validate(ValidationGroupName) and all of my validators are on the fields on a separate control (ascx) which is a child of the aspx page.

The above snippet is located in my aspx page.I've tried to put the same button on the ascx page, it works fine. My thought is since the ascx page is under the aspx page. When the button event on aspx page is fired (Button1), the rest of the event in ascx page is not fired. I've tried to put breakpoints on the button event and validator events, if the button of the page (aspx) is the one I click, it will not stop on my validator events, if the button on the control (ascx) I click it will stop to the validator events. What could be the remedy for this?

I have a shortcut on my desktop to a login page for a website I use quite often. Every time I go there I have to reenter my user name and password.
The desktop URL shortcut I have is
http://domain.com/service/Login.aspx
I've tried adding the following changes
http://domain.com/service/Login.aspx?username=ckimball&password=joshua1
But this doesn't auto populate the fields on the website when it loads. Is there something special I need to do so the webpage will fill in the fields on the form?
Also bonus if I could just auto submit to login so I don't need the page to load and have me click "login" but I don't think that's possible... or is it?

Each page has a seperate submit button, but for some reason each pages submit button is validating all the radio buttons on each tab, i picked the seperate controls to validate under but on any submit theya re all validated instead of just the ones on that tab.

I am using the captcha from recaptcha.net in my asp.net webform. The webform has a checkbox list which does an auto-postback. Now when I select any of the checkboxes, the pages is posting back and the captcha is refreshing too and gives me a new image and also throws the validation error,"Incorrect word, please enter".how to avoid the refrshing of the image(or captcha) on every postback of the page.I tried using other capctha controls from code project but I need an audio control for my captcha and have tried to use .net speech libraries to produce the audio, but could not succeed.So I am working with the recaptcha instead.

View 4 RepliesI have a databound Gridview (with a LINQ datasource). The gridview displays questions from the SQL DB to the user. I've inserted a radio button list into the gridview with 3 horizontal radio buttons with fixed values of 1,2,3 for the user to select. I have a question ID, a tempuserID, and AnswerValue columns set up in the database. It all works nicely.
After the user selects radio buttons, I would like for them to push a button to submit the QuestionID, the associated Radio Button Value (AnswerValue) and their tempUserID into the DB. How do I do this? I'm not sure what to do next and what VB/LINQ code to put in the code behind file in the button click event handler. I'm also not sure on what to use for the tempUserID, can I use the sessionID? I'm using VB and here's my code:

(a,b,c,d) and '3' are enabled only when user selects something apart rom "Never"number 2 is enabled only if user answers something from question 'd' (which is a checkboxlist)My problem is when user selects "A few times a year from 1 question" and some answer(for example second option as "Frequently" from number 3 which is a radio button list and now user selected differnt answer for question 1 (let say Montly) now answer to 3rd question autoamtically changed to first option in radio button list")

View 2 RepliesI know that dynamic buttons and buttons in general don't use a typical postback and they post through the page.request.form. Okay, so in visual studio, I was able to determine that page.Request.form and in the all-keys property, i SEE my button there. It is the last item in all-keys.
When I am clicking this dynamic button which is in an updatepanel, the script below does not detect it as a button, it is still showing it as null:

but here is the kicker, when I am traversing through the object, I am looking at the object C and the property 'ctl'. The ctl is showing me a value of "ButtonRow_0Col0" and it is of type string. This is good! But , the 'c' control object still says 'null'.
I'm inserting controls dynamicaly on my page on pre-init, thease controls are inserting based on a dropDownList that load its values from a database. These values are diferent to all clients.
If I insert my controls on pre-init then I have access to the value of radiobuttons, but this insert only 1 controls cause in pre render I don't have the selected value of dropDown.
If I insert my controls on on-load event then I have the value of my dropDownList control so I can be able to inser the correct number o controls but I don't have the value of my auto-postback radioButtons.
I make a project to solve this and I share the code of it here. (VB.Net 4.0)
