I am having 2 text boxes namely
Bill No. & Bill date. In my project.
Now Here I want to generate bill no. automatically in some sort of sequence.
For ex: If once user clicks on the at that time if bill no. is WS 100
Then other time it must be WS 101.
It must auto increamented.
Same is for Bill date in bill date field I want system date to be taken everytime.
I am working on a small website for project management.There are around 15 database tables. Since i will be using asp.net 2.0, I wont be able to use LINQ.I need to finish the development of the website in a very quick manner.How do i generate the data access layer automatically. I found NHibernate as one solution, but it seems too difficult for such a small project.

I am generating Textboxes dynamically on selection of treeview node.
The problem is i have a button and on click of it postback happens and all the date entered in the textboxes and textbox it self is lost ;(

In my application I have panel which has 5 textboxes. I've written several functions for checking each of textbox if the entered value is ok (number, is this number in database, etc.). If error occurrs textbox which caused it has different color of background.
However I wanted to write (add) function which will check if one of the textboxes has the same value as other. The problem is that function is checking blank textboxes, although it shouldn't - I wrote if statement which allows checking only non-blank textboxes but it doesn't work.
Before I get too far down the road I just want some advice. I'm building a web app using VWD2008 and MySQL 5. I've got the membership provider stuff working fine and have an odbc connection setup which works "fine". what I've noticed is that when I configure a new sqldatasource (that will be used to provide data to a listview or something) the Advanced -> generate Insert,Update..... option is disabled. I'm assuming its because of the sql syntax difference of the square brackets issue between MS SQL Server and MySQL.
Before I start writing all my own insert and update statements does anyone know if there is a way to get MySQL and VWD to talk the same language, maybe a different connector or something. I'm using mysql-connector-odbc-3.51.15
OK, so I'm trying to create a template item from a web form.
I have referenced this article: [URL] and it exports the template and installs it fine.
When you try and use the template item within a project though it leaves the inherits="_Default" in the page directive like shown below:
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="FormTemplateDev.aspx.cs" Inherits="_Default" %>
So it thinks all the new template items use the original form name pre-template generation. This is an issue in the code behind too as shown here:

I have seen example of passing paramater strings through but havent managed to get anything to compile. I found something like below:

I have a repeater which is binded using a Collection of Entity Data Framework.
Once the repeater is binded using the datasource, the user can control the no of rows present in the repeater using a Dropdown list on the page. For ex: if datasource has 2 rows, user want to add 3 more rows, user selects 5 from dropdown, which adds 3 additional rows to the Repeater. I am able to do this.
The repeater has textbox controls in each row. Now once the user enter the values in this textbox of the newly generated rows, the user can save the values entered with the no of rows specified.
I have a button which is outside the repeater and on click of this i need to validate all the textbox values and save them into dB accordingly.

I am working with ASP.NET 2.0 and Visual Studio 2005. I am using masterpages and have a form with 15 textboxes located in the ContentPlaceHolder of one particular form. I need to loop through the textboxes and process the input for each one. I'm programming in VB.NET and have not been able to figure out how to code the looping. View 9 RepliesI have a "database explorer" page that is desgined to be pointed to an unknown database and allow users to browse the data, so it basically uses the SQL system tables to develop its queries and pull in data to tables using auto-generate columns.The problem that I have is that I would like certain types of columns to have certain formats and I'm wondering the best way to go about it. I could format the column in code in the RowDataBound event I assume, but I'm wondering if there some better standard way to do this? Is there a setting of any kind that I can use? For example I want all of the datetime fields to be formated for short date, like {0:d}, I want decimal fields to have 4 decimal places, etc.
View 2 RepliesI have a simple online web system where it possible for the visitors to "play around" with the system. They can like create categories and products and so forth. Everything they create are stored into a database.
What I want is to be able to reset this database with my default values (table data) every n hours.
So for example if we have a bunch of users that have played with the system and created new things. Then I want to be able to make some kode that deletes all data in the tables in this database and fill it with default data. The default data can come from a backup file, or another database with same tables structure or whatever.
I want this task to be done every day at 12 pm or every n hour.
Is this possible (by forexample scheduled webservice tasks or just something as long as it is simple).
