I have a webpage called DisplayBinaryData.aspx - the purpose of this page being to display/download any word, excel, pdf or images. I call this webpage and pass the id of my BinaryData entity using a querystring. The BinaryData entity contains the file, filename and contenttype uploaded using the asp.net fileUploadControl. The code in the page load is below:

This code executes perfect in IE,but fails when executed in FireFox. IE prompts the user, either to save or open the content. FireFox also prompts the user, but the dialog box fails to save or open any content. When executing this in google chrome - there is no dialog box, it starts downloading the content automatically.

Is this possible using images stored directly on the database? (sql2008) Or maybe possible only using uploading images to a directory and saving it's path/name on database?

When an AJAX request starts, the Loading Panel (defined in the master page) will display, with a loading image, text, and faded white background color. It works totally fine in Firefox and Chrome, but the background image and text don't display in IE8. All that displays is the white background.LoadingPanel code: Loading ideas why IE8 isn't displaying the images? I've inspected the page source, and they're there in the CSS.

View 1 RepliesSo I have an ASPX page. the only thing i am doing is creating a XPS/PDF report to be sent to a customer. everything works well but now we have a bunch of customers and people are hitting the page quite a bit and we got a complaint about wrong data being in the report. i can reproduce this when i hammer the aspx page with like 10 reports at once. I will see the 2nd persons data in the first persons report randomly. is there something going on with cacheing or is it using the same instance of the page when the 2nd request comes in while the first report is getting generated?
View 6 RepliesI created an AR statement using crystal report. The main report gets customer info and use customer ID and from and to dates to link to three sub reports. The three subreports are (1) opening balance, (2) list of transactions and (3) aging summary. When I previewed it from VS2005 design mode, everything shown pecfectly however when I run it from VB, only the list of transactions shown and the other two subrreports only showed labels but no data. In addition, I can send the report to printer and no PDF can be generated.

I have a report with some opening text, a table, and some closing text. The number of rows in the table can vary. When the report is exported to Excel or printed, the opening text is printed, then a pagebreak is inserted and the table starts on the second page. I want the everything to be continous with any pagebreaks occuring in the middle of the table.
I've tried modifying the body and page size. I've tried dragging the controls to the left and making them smaller. how to stop the unwanted pagebreaks from occuring?
How to go about creating a grid/table that can updated at run time by the user and can also be printed and exported to Excel. I have the print function working and I know how to export datagrids to Excel. Im going to attach an example to explain more clearly what Im looking for. Is this possible with a datagrid?
