I have a Table in SQL Database, it only has one sell and its xml type.
I need to bind that xml to TreeView Control, and since I can't bind use sqldatasource as a datasource for the treeview and i cant use the XmlDataSource to read from the database...
I have a column with nvarchar datatype storing the date. I am using a Gridview to display and edit data of that table. Now when I update the table the nvarchar column containing date in the format mm/dd/yyyy gets converted to Jun 9 2010 12:00AM format. I don't want this to be happening. I don't understand why this is happening as I don't have datetime column.

I'm loading data from my database into a DataTable, and one of the columns is a date field.

I'd like to format that column so that instead of containing a full date, it will be formatted like "MM/DD/YYYY".
I've tried looping through each row in the table and changing the cell for that column, but I get an error saying that the string isn't a valid DateTime object.
I tried changing the column DateType to a string, but I get an error saying I can't change the DateType after the table is filled.
How can I do this? This seems like such a simple thing, but I'm having so much trouble with it.
I want to bind TreeView control with List object. This List object will be creatd by data that got from database.But, the problem is I can't bind this TreeView with List. I am using SQL SERVER 2008 database. I have a table Customers in which the CustomerID column is had datatype INT intially but due to increase in Customers the number range is exceeding which may cause error arithmetic overflow of data. I have a data table that has several columns, one of which is an xml field. I want to bind a column in the gridview to a single node in the xml based on an xpath. The binding only needs to be read only, it won't be used to update. How would I do that?
So, given this data:
IDField, XMLData
1, "<Person><Name>FunkyD</Name><Age>110</Age></Person>"
2, "<Person><Name>Maurice</Name><Age>16</Age></Person>"
I want bind the first column of the grid to IDField - that's easy. I also want to bind the second column of the grid to the Name node of the XMLData field. The xpath would be Person/Name.
I'd want the grid to display:-
1 FunkyD
2 Maurice
NB, the node will only appear once in the xml field of each row. I want a row on the grid for each data row. What I don't want (and all I seem to be able find examples of on google) is to bind a grid to nodes that repeat within the same xml doc.
Periodically a rash of occurrences of the following error happen. I believe they're the result of hack attempts. Whether that's the case or not, my question is how can I handle the error? I want to avoid unhandled exceptions. The TreeView control is just
a standard .Net TreeView control, not a custom one. If you suggest a code solution, please code it in VB.Net as that's what I'm using.
