I have used caching in a page that shows user name[lable] and a linkbutton[login/logout].
When user logs in this text has to be changed from code but due to caching on the page none of them is changed.label I can replace with substitution control. Is there any way out to change linkbutton text now.

View 1 Repliesi have a link button thats text value is populated from a dataset value retrieved from a database. When the user clicks on this link button I want to somehow capture the text value. The trick is the linkbutton is within a usercontrol, and I want to do the processing from the user controls parent. I am able to get the ID of the clicked linkbutton with the use of Request.Form["__EVENTTARGET"];, however i need the text value, in this case its a job number.
I may be able to do this via javascript with the OnClientClick;
OnClientClick='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem,"JobNo","test({0})")%>'
When I do this I get a javascript error saying "M10725"(which is my job number being clicked) is ndefined. I dont know what this means. Do I somehow have to give the linkbutton being click a value?
I have a page with a number of user controls, In one of my user controls I have a button event. I turn on output cache for the user control that has the button and vary by control using the ID property of a hidden field control in the user control. whenever I turn on the output cache my button event doesn't fire.

1. I need to load a user control on link click event of a link button during postback of aspx page.
2. On button click event of a save button on that aspx page, I need to read the selected values from that user control on further postback.
If I write the loadcontrol code in link_click event, the control is not recognized at all in the button_click event. When I shift it to page_init and execute only during not postback, the user control loads with default values.
I am using link button in li and when i click on link button its color not changing i have applied the css so when i click on some link only that link color must be white others must be black. Which is visited that must be only color changed others must be white.

When user goes to the next page, based on the number of policy selected in the previous page, i hav to change the link button's image respectively. ie if user chose 1 the button should have 'Continue' or if the user has chosen more than 1 then button should have 'Next Policy'. I am aware that this has to be done on the page_load. Basically how to change the link button's images at runtime based on a condition.

View 1 RepliesI have a link button which is part of my user control. Further, the control is actually added to the control dynamically. Whilst, I can see the control, and is added to the page without any visible errors, but when I click on to fire an event which on that user control nothing happens. What is even more odd, if I add a break point to event, and then click in debug mode, I can't even reach the break point!
To try and resolve this, I have tried giving the link button ids, and ensured they unique, added override using OnInit and used the createchildcontrols method, but nothing seems to work!
I have a link button in my gridview. It is populating correctly; however, being I am populating the values in the gridview using "Eval()" method I don't know how to get the value of the selected Link Button (which is only selected by a user actually clicking
the Link Button).
The user can click on the text directly (instead of showing the "Select" auto created). I want to be able to capture the item they have clicked on's Text property.

When the click on "Value2" I want the text property to be stored in a string variable (In this case the text would be "Value2"). In the past I have captured this through GridView.SelectedValue; however, I am not using autopopulate selected button so I need to do this manually and I am unsure as to how I will do this.

Obviously I am a total noob and this is simple to some of you, but I can not figure out why the rest of the sub works, but the button1.Text="Uploading, Please Wait..." seems to be completely ignored.
The button is supposed to change text when clicked but no method I have tried works with my page.
