i am working on a website,As i am new to coding i got a problem in it. It was, i hav dynamically generated link buttons in my page, If i click on the any link button i should get the text of the link button, how to get it ?

I am generating a button dynamically at runtime and in event button click I am generating a TextBox dynamically at the runtime.
My question is I should be able to generate TextBox on every click. Suppose say, If I click three times then there should be three textboxes generated.
am designing report using gridview in which i want drill down report, i.e. when i click a cell of gridview which contains value from the database. i want a new gridview to be populated with detailed report, which should be generated by passing some values from parent gridview.
i have written some code for the same,but in the code the event is not getting fired.

Now the problem is how to update the record in database through this dynamically generated html table and texboxes. When I run my dynamically generated update command, all the dynamic controls is lost in postback.
I want to build link buttons dynamically, and the link is clicked run a subroutine.
that is one half of my problem.
Once that linkbutton is created, then i would like to concatenate that with text that i am placing in a text box.
I have dynamically generated a button an its event too.Now want to access a textbox (Generated Dynamically) into the onClick event of the Button.How can i do this?
View 2 RepliesI have a procedure that is generating some radio buttons and assigning a CheckedChanged postback event based on the level being passed through (up to 4 levels). When the first level is checked (radio button selected) the postback event rb_CheckChanged00() is called and a check is done to see if this item has any children, if it does, it will create more radio buttons and assign rb_CheckChanged01 to the CheckChanged event for these - This part is working fine.
The issue I have is when I select the second Radio Button that has been created (the child), it doesn't seem to go to the post back event at all. The page is posting back when I click on it but everything resets because it won't go into rb_CheckChanged01.
I know this info is quite vague but I am hoping someone has an idea on how the post back event works and if I am somehow using it incorrectly.

But I am not able to get 3 case dynamically when i clickon from 2 case.

if I click on computers and then only it should display all other sub products like Keyboard, Mouse,...

I have a project I'm working on, which is basically filling in a form online. The form contains multiple pages, and I have replicated this using a MultiView. On one of the pages I have a CustomValidator which validates a driving licence, based on names/previousnames and the date of birth.If the validation fails, I want to enter a link into the text, which will allow the user to click on it and correct the information that is erroneous.

i have a link button thats text value is populated from a dataset value retrieved from a database. When the user clicks on this link button I want to somehow capture the text value. The trick is the linkbutton is within a usercontrol, and I want to do the processing from the user controls parent. I am able to get the ID of the clicked linkbutton with the use of Request.Form["__EVENTTARGET"];, however i need the text value, in this case its a job number.
I may be able to do this via javascript with the OnClientClick;
OnClientClick='<%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem,"JobNo","test({0})")%>'
When I do this I get a javascript error saying "M10725"(which is my job number being clicked) is ndefined. I dont know what this means. Do I somehow have to give the linkbutton being click a value?

I have used caching in a page that shows user name[lable] and a linkbutton[login/logout].
When user logs in this text has to be changed from code but due to caching on the page none of them is changed.label I can replace with substitution control. Is there any way out to change linkbutton text now.

I have gone through several posts on this forum about adding a linkbutton to an updatepanel dynamically. A lot of them say just give it a unique ID and some say you have to register add an AsyncPostBackTrigger to the triggers collection. I have tried both and neither work. I have this simple test that I created - the code is below - there is nothing else in this project but the code you see so I know nothing else is interfering with it.
I have also seem people complaining that the linkbutton causes the entire page to postback - in my case nothing happens... I have seen people talk about having to add the triggers on the page init however I can't do that - I am dynamically creating menus based on a selection in a listbox... (not in this simple test but in a larger project) I am using Visual web developer express 2010 if that makes any difference.

I have a link button in my gridview. It is populating correctly; however, being I am populating the values in the gridview using "Eval()" method I don't know how to get the value of the selected Link Button (which is only selected by a user actually clicking
the Link Button).
The user can click on the text directly (instead of showing the "Select" auto created). I want to be able to capture the item they have clicked on's Text property.
Example:Column 1

Value2
Value3
When the click on "Value2" I want the text property to be stored in a string variable (In this case the text would be "Value2"). In the past I have captured this through GridView.SelectedValue; however, I am not using autopopulate selected button so I need to do this manually and I am unsure as to how I will do this.

1. I need to load a user control on link click event of a link button during postback of aspx page.
2. On button click event of a save button on that aspx page, I need to read the selected values from that user control on further postback.
If I write the loadcontrol code in link_click event, the control is not recognized at all in the button_click event. When I shift it to page_init and execute only during not postback, the user control loads with default values.
