Web Forms :: Checking User Input String For Bad Words

I have got a function as below to check user whether input text is a legal words or not , but this function would trim or replace the bad words from input string.
Therefore i just want to match input string in this method (don't want to trim or replace). If it matched with any of these then should throw a message "Special characters not allowed"

Probably simple question but it has been a long time since i work with UI,I have a textarea that the user can enter his input. I have a pretty basic search feature on a site that queries a sqldb with a sqldarasource, and then displays the results on a page, in a panel within a Repeater. I'd like to figure out if it's possible to somehow highlight the words the user searched on as they are displayed in the search results. The code below is my repeater. Do you know of any way to manipulate the Title or Description if the words in it's body match the words searched?

i need to cut the text from a box to a shorter version. what i'm using right now is :
CAST(DescriereNoutate AS nchar(200)) AS Descriere from the SqlDataSource, but im having problems because this cuts the words.
how can i do this without leaving the words cut in half.

I'm trying to update a db record via a business object, based on a users input.
In my button event handler, I check for a null or empty value like this before I set the object properties:

But if the textbox is empty, I get the "System.FormatException:
Input string was not in a correct format." in the line:
[Code]....
How can this be?

I would like to program an Input Box that comes up when a user clicks 'Find' button. It asks 'Please enter an employee number'. Then it takes the employee number typed into a text box and searches a dataset for that specific employee record.
I know that it should be server side because the client may not have the proper javascript installed or diabled. Therefore, can someone give me some code to put in code behind that can pop up an input box and use the input after, if this can be done?

I have a simple ASP.net page:

I want to send input from input_box to a query string, and then keep this input in the input_box when the page reloads.
That's the code behind page:

Problem is that when query string is not empty, string from input_box cannot be passed to query string. How to correct it?

I have a 15 digit string to encrypt.
I have tried using .NET's various encryption functions but all my encrypted strings are at least 24, 28 or 32 in length.
I have heard of CipherMode.CTS with Padding = None that produces the same length output as the input length but I can't seem to get the same result. I have toyed with the block-size, key-size and salt size.
I don't mind adding a digit to my input string to make it 16 in length.

Is there any reliable way to check if user has entered Arabic words into a form and tries to submit it? Can Javascript handle this? Or, only server script like .NET can do this?
I'm thinking that if possible the script should directly prevent the user from inputting Arabic words into the form and show an alert pop up.

What's the regular expression to check if a string starts with "mailto" or "ftp" or "joe" or...
Now I am using C# and code like this in a big if with many ors:
String.StartsWith("mailto:")
String.StartsWith("ftp")
It looks like a regex would be better for this. Or is there a C# way I am missing here?

I create a project on my local host (xp) that work o.k.
I up load the project to the test server (win Server 2008), work o.k.
