I have a Collapsiblepanelextender and a TabContainer with two tabs. the code works fine in FF and Chrome but fails in IE8. I am using VS2008 .Net 3.5 and the latest AjaxToolkit.
I am trying to control the collapsible behavior through tab clicking using javascript. here is the code to replicate my problem.
I have made a user control using CollapsiblePanelExtender control. I am getting a small issue, that the panel that expands is not relative to the control. It always open on left side of the page. My control is in different location in different pages. How can I make sure that the expand and collapse is with respect to the control? I see "left: -36px" in the style attribute of "SettingsContentPanel". How can it be relative and doesn't break the code.
I'm developing a website for a company. They want the website to be in Arabic. So, a lot of things need to inverted in a classical website. The menu control has arrows indicative of child items. Now, I know that the menu control renders as a table. Also, I know I could change the shape and look of the arrows with a custom image by modifying StaticPopUpImageUrl & DynamicPopUpImageUrl properties.
What I need is to make the arrows appear left of the menu entry. I tried wrapping the menu control in a div with the attribute dir set to "rtl", but it didn't work. So, what could I do to fix this? Also, if I couldn't do that in the menu control and needed to create my own menu control. Are repeaters practical?
I am using materpage for building my website....In the masterpage i used a table with two columns . In that table in one column i defined leftmenu and the other i placed content place holder. While building the child pages. I am placing all that required in content place holder. while doing that in one of my page i used GridView. When the GridView Size is increasing the left menu is also being disturbed.
Trying out the asp menu item. I have a static menu across the top, and then when you hover over a menu item, a dynamic menu opens and displays 5 menu items from top to bottom. Only problem is, that the text in each of the 5 menu items is centered, where as I want them to be flush left. I've looked for some align options, but don't see them.
I have a page which has menu of the items on the left and the content page on the right. Since, master page is used, there is a few content on the footer of the master page.As a default, the left menu shrinks but as you expand the menu tree, the menu items goes down and down. But the footer of the master page remains there so that its ugly looking.IS there any way to push the footer of the master page also below and below as the menu items grow and grow (moves below and below)
I am facing problem with diplaying FileUpload control on my aspx page. The problem is that when I drag the control in design view, it is showing a bordered TextBox and a Browse button on it right side but when I run my application, the button becomes "Choose File" button and TextBox appears at the right side of the button instead of left side and also it does not have any border. When I select a file, it is only showing a file name instead of the complete path. let me know that how could I display this control the same way as it was displaying during design time? I am using below code to display the control.

My master page is left navigation bar. It displays correctly on my aspx pages, but the other content of the aspx page is displayed right underneath the master page content. I don't want anything to be displayed under the left navigation bar. I want the other stuff to be displayed on the right side of the navigation bar. Is their any way I can do that. below is my code
a) As far as I know, GridView's RowStyle-HorizontalAlign property should overwrite CSS's text-align property, and thus text inside GridView's cells should be located on the left side of the cells, but is instead moved to the right side. Why is that?
b) Similarly, RowStyle-Font-Bold should overwrite CSS's font-weight property and thus fonts shouldn't be in bold. But again, CSS's property overwrites RowStyle's Font-Bold property. Why?
But since even after applying ItemStyle the page still displayed text on the right side of the cells, I've decided to check the source code of a html page sent to the user, and as it turns out both <tr> and <td> elements have Align property set to left, Here is the source code of a html page:
In ASP.NET, Session_End will be fired when the Session is time out then I can guess the user has left or close the Browser window in this method. But there is some delay till time out, is there any better solution?

I have been adding different JQuery Carousels to AJAX Tabbed Panels - the first one displayed on the page always works. But any other tabs dont work when I select the tab. I have about a dozen different carousels.
Can anyone recommend one that works in AJAX Tabs or how I can go about rectifying this?
I have created an asp.net applications in which i am using jquery tabs to show say profile modifications information. I want user to see his profile info as well as he will be able to edit his details and save the information. for this purpose i have created an aspx page "MyProfile.aspx" and 3 ascx pages
say "page1", "page2" and "page3".
When i run "MyProfile.aspx" i can see all 3 tabs showing correct information. But problem is when i edit contents and try to save them back to the database. Contents on page1 are stored correctly. But page2 and page3 doest not fire any event. In all 3 pages I am using ajax n jquery to save data to database. and when i try to save contents of page2 and page3 nothing occurs.I am showing 3 tabs there of which first tab edits save the details but second and third tabs do not fire any event on button click.
NOTE: I know I could iterate through parent div's child controls in codebehind (although I would need to make them all "run at server", or even parse the InnerHtml property of the parent div), but if feels pretty weird.
Also, I am aware that if the article was being created from a data source, I would have the content already organized, but I would like to make as little changes needed in the existing pages.
