Web Forms :: Delete File And Update Database In Transaction?
Feb 20, 2010
I want to delete file available on server and same time I want to update the filename column in my database.If I delete file first and then update database and an error come in updating database my file is already gone.If I update database first and then delete file from from disk and an error occur my file information in database is already gone Can any one tell me how I can do it both successfully. I means either both operations should succeed or I should not lose my physical file or its information in database.
I have two databases. When I am using MS Visual Web Developer, I can drag the table onto the webpage and it gives me check boxes to Insert, Update, Delete,...When I do the exact thing using the other database, it only has check boxes forpaging, sorting and selection. What is the difference? I seem to have all teh same permissions in both databases.
I have made a DetailsView which in DetailsView there is action to add the data, change data and delete the data ..how to save, change, delete data, which is in the DetailsView without saving it in the database?so far I use viewstate, but I do not know how to apply it in DetailsView ..
how to create insert , update , delete . in detailsview without saving in database ..
private void Bindemptydt() { //Declare a datatable for the gridview DataTable dt = new DataTable(); //Add Columns to the datatable dt.Columns.Add("report_id"); dt.Columns.Add("param_field"); dt.Columns.Add("param_label");
I am trying to create Web Application using ASP.Net via Visual Studio 2010. The Database that I use is Access, with connection Method OleDb
When using the query "Update" or "Delete", the programs shows no errors, but the data in Access does not change. While for query "Select" and "Insert", the data is displayed and inserted successfully.
The Following code is the sample query "Delete" that I used..
Code: Imports System.Data.OleDb Partial Class frmTEst Inherits System.Web.UI.Page Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
[Code] ....
Previously I tried a direct query using AccessDataSource, but the result just the same, Update and Delete can't be done. But the Select and Insert can be executed successfully.
Is there any problem with my Access configuration or whether the problem is in the coding itself..?
I m accessing another application by consuming webservice of that application. I m sending file to store and retrieving file from other dabatase. Web service is the only to access another application.Now, I want to delete the file using the same web service where I stored that file in the another database.I m getting exception and I m unable to figure it out.
I'm trying to delete a bunch of records in mysql. The record info to delete (userid, name) is stored in an arraylist. It seems to only delete the first record and gives an error ("Transaction has already been rolled back or is not pending.") afterwards. I have the transaction commit inside the loop which I think is the issue but not sure how to go further if I bring it outside of the loop. Here's the relevant bits of the code.
try { ArrayList alist = new ArrayList(); //alist gets populated with data like (12345,robot)(23456,car) here. MySqlConnection conn2 = new MySqlConnection(query_connection); conn2.Open(); MySqlCommand command2 = conn2.CreateCommand(); MySqlTransaction mytransaction; mytransaction = conn2.BeginTransaction(); command2.Transaction = mytransaction; for (int i = 0; i < alist.Count; i++) { string[] s = alist[i].ToString().Split(','); try { command2.CommandText = "DELETE from users_settings WHERE UserID=" + s[0].ToString(); command2.ExecuteNonQuery(); command2.CommandText = "DELETE from users WHERE ID=" + s[0].ToString(); command2.ExecuteNonQuery(); mytransaction.Commit(); } catch (Exception e){ mytransaction.Rollback(); } } } catch(Exception e){ }
how to insert,update,delete row in gridview without saving in database ?suppose 1 textbox,1 button and 1 gridview .textbox and button outside of gridview.
I tried to update existing image using the code shown below. Then when I retrieve the image file, my image button only shows "X" icon. What is wrong with this code.
Dim filePath As String = FileUpload2.PostedFile.FileName Dim filename As String = Path.GetFileName(filePath) Dim ext As String = Path.GetExtension(filename) Dim contenttype As String = String.Empty
Dim filestr As Stream = FileUpload2.PostedFile.InputStream
When I am creating a new form, I am inserting "RequestId" of particular form in Textbox as well as uploading multiple file (that comes in Gridview)and on save button click, those gridview multiple files with "RequestId" are saved in Database as below:
Now, I want that If I delete any file from the Gridview(which has all uploaded files), I want that file to be deleted from database table also.Currently on Deleting file from Gridview, files from "Folder" are deleted not from Database.
i am having a transaction related problem regarding mysql.. need some advice how to proceed !!!
here is a gridview for my application and i am inserting or updating for each row.... like
[Code]....
well now what i want is if any of the row update or insert failes ... it should revert all the changes that was already made into the database ... even a single row update .. into that perticular table ... the code which i have called for payment.Update(PayDetails, 0) is :
[Code]....
can someone help me out how to proceed in this scenario ??? how do i undo each of the updates made into the table payment schedule details ...
Got a problem with regards to the file upload control on database updates. The problem is in my CMS, when a user tries to update content for a page it will add null to the fields containing the image path. What I need is for the system to check if the uploader has no image and if hasn't it has to do nothing. It can't add empty strings or null values as this will remove the original image path. Although they still need to be able to do image updates if the uploader has a file(this bits not a problem).
Here is a snipet of code to demonstrate what I'm trying to achieve.
I am in a situation where I have to perform a transaction master detail record (Drop prev details, insert new details, Update Master status) Master Business Object has 20 fields Details Business Object has 4 fields only. Now I have to update only 1 field in master table and 4 fields in details table for insert.
If I initialize a new master object, 19 fields are being wasted for a simple update. What do I do to efficiently handle this situation? Can I make a new object and inherit only one field from my master business object?
PLZ find below my transaction. i feel that something is wrong in those lines especially in the insert in the table BARCOD0F .the gridview dont show the new updates .i closed the page and relaunch everthing but the updates are not considered
I've got all of my ASP.NET requests wrapped in a Session and a Transaction that gets commited only at the very end of the request. At some point during execution of the request, I would like to insert an object and make it visible to other potential threads - i.e. split the insertion into a new transaction, commit that transaction, and move on. The reason is that the request in question hits an API that then chain hits another one of my pages (near-synchronously) to let me know that it processed, and thus double submits a transaction record, because the original request had not yet finished, and thus not committed the transaction record.
So I've tried wrapping the insertion code with a new SessionScope, TransactionScope(TransactionMode.New), combination of both, flushing everything manually, etc. However, when I call Refresh on the object I'm still getting the old object state. Here's some code sample for what I'm seeing:
Post outsidePost = Post.Find(id); // status of this post is Status.Old using (TransactionScope transaction = new TransactionScope(TransactionMode.New)) { Post p = Post.Find(id); p.Status = Status.New; // new status set here p.Update(); SessionScope.Current.Flush(); transaction.Flush(); transaction.VoteCommit(); } outsidePost.Refresh(); // refresh doesn't get the new status, status is still Status.Old
