My webform has a 400k image that it needs to load (a table background), plus a Bewise Flash control. The problem is that the Flash animation loads before everything else, so I end up viewing the Flash but the page hasn't even started to load that big image.
Is there any way that I can load the Flash animation once the whole page has finished loading? The image is actually a table background.
I have a modal dialog box, which takes some time to load, I want to display some ajax animation while the modal dialog box is getting loaded, as at that time though the dialog box is getting loaded user gets an impression that nothing is happening. I use javascript to pop up modal dialog box.

View 3 RepliesIn my asp.net 1.1 web app I am loading a datagrid control in a web page with data from the DB. (the datagrid control is in a <DIV> tag). I also have a View button on the page and onsubmit server event of that I have written a simple Response.redirect to another web page.
Now whenever I load a small amount of data(30-40 rows) in the datagrid and then click the View button it redirects to the other page correctly, but whenever I load a lot of rows(about 200+) in the datagrid then the rows get displayed fine in the datagrid but then whenever I click the View button then the whole screen becomes blank and even in the browser url I get the name of the first page only and not of the other page (on doing right click & view source I get only the <html><body> tags) .
However if I click on the View button immediately after loading bulk data then it redirects fine but its only if i wait for about 2 minutes after the data is loaded and then click the View button the page goes blank. I have set my session timeout as the default 20 min in the web.config also & checked that when I load a few rows & wait for 3 min then still it redirects fine to the other page but the problem is ony when a lot of rows are loaded that the page goes blank completely.
I have a WebForm which has an ImageButton. When clicked, it will open a new window (using javascript). This new window,will load an html page (video.html).

In the website root theres a folder called Content, inside it theres anothe folder called Video and inside Video there are alll the objects
that the video needs. When I try this in debug mode, it works. However, when I publish my website, and click the ImageButton the new window opens, and the FLV player shows, but the video never loads.
I'm looking for some opinions on how to go about the following:
Say I have a wizard control in my website, and I've completed all the steps on the wizard and I want to redirect to another page after the "Finish" button I've clicked. So, then after that I logout of my site, and go back into it bearing in mind the wizard has been completed, I want to redirect the user to another page and by-pass this wizard control. Would I setup a flag in the database, to indicate if the wizard control has been completely filled or not. If status = true then redirect the user to different page (and bypass wizard)... but if status = null then make sure user still can go through steps in the wizard control.

I already know this solution. (transfer the slow loading page to a loading-interim-page which shows the animation and then redirects to the actual page)But I would really like to solve this without a redirecting page.

I have tried the embed method with no luck.The work flow is as follows. The user logs into our site and is sent to a FAQ page. We cannot use paging, so we need to display all these images in the same webform.I noticed that facebook (and other sites) lets you display all your images in one page. For a profile qith about 1000 photos, facebook somehow downloads only enough so that the visitor can see images on the screen. Once you scroll, it seems to only download enough so that the visitor can again see something on screen. It works like a good text editor.... instead of displaying a huge file onscreen (like notepad does) and freezing, it only displays enough for the reader to see.

I have been given a requirement to take an existing stand-alone web-form (i.e. uses postbacks) and throw it into a lightbox. The standalone web-form already has save and cancel buttons that have predefined behaviors. For example, the Save button attempts to save the form, and either displays validation errors, or if the operation was successful, redirects to some other page in the app. However, in the context of this new "lightbox mode", the Save button should additionally close the lightbox if the operation was successful. I see two options:
Option 1-->UpdatePanel + ModalDialogExtender:a. Extract a UserControl out of the standalone web-form that includes everything but save/cancel buttonsb. Introduce Save and Cancel EventHandlers on said UserControl
