Security :: .SWF File Access - Displays It As An Embedded Flash Animation
Jan 18, 2010
I have a question about security. If I put the ip address and full path for my swf file which is embedded within my asp.net application I can access it. I do want anyone to access that file. The file should only be viewed upon logging in to the asp.net webportal which displays it as an embedded flash animation.
Id like for people only to access the content via default.aspx and not the dynamically generated content generateimage.aspx. Any attempt to browse here directly should be redirected to an error page
We have a swf file that we want to secure and make available only to authorized users.
I embedded the file in an aspx page and that works fine, since ASP.NET handles the aspx page, I can use ASP.NET authorization features and in the web.config restrict the access to roles="AllowedUsers" for example.
However smart users could still get to the file by accessing directly for example www.mysite/flash.swf. We want to make that kind of access secure.
My webform has a 400k image that it needs to load (a table background), plus a Bewise Flash control. The problem is that the Flash animation loads before everything else, so I end up viewing the Flash but the page hasn't even started to load that big image.
Is there any way that I can load the Flash animation once the whole page has finished loading? The image is actually a table background.
I am using Menu control with CSSFriendlyAdapters to create a horizontal drop-down menu. However, I have page where there is an image gallery built as a flash object just below the top tier of the menu. If I click on an item that has submenu items the drop-down items go behind the flash object and you can't see them to click on them.The menu is defined in the masterpage. how to get round this without moving / changing the look of the page. Can the menu be set to be in front of the flash object?
I'm trying to add Embeded flash in aspx page running on iis 7.5 windows server 2008. When i'm adding the Embeded code src=/mylocation/test.swf it works fine. But when I'm adding fileserver location src="file:\c: est.swf the page doesn't load.

I need to have a stack of 10 text lines, possibly div's, and insert a line arbitrarily somehere in the list. In addition I'd like to fade in a highlight (for the new line) and fade out.Is MSFT AJAX the correct tool to use for this?
I'm trying to play with live web cam using asp.net with C#.I want to access/stream web cam content using flash then send the captured streams using Real-time Transport Protocol.How is possiable to do that?do you know any simple asp.net application related to this?
I'm looking for a direct way for server-side code to access a flash shared object. Obviously you can write some javascript that can read flash shared objects via ExternalInterface. But doing that requires a client code execution, and then a push of the shared object data back to the server-side code. This seems rather complicated.
So is there a way for asp.net, php, or any other server-side script to request the data in a flash shared object?
I need to update a online class that is using Asp.net as it's base. I have to use flash because the test will use video as the teaching tool. I want to be able to communicate with a database to update scores through choices made in the flash programmed test. I am woundering if there is a easy way to do or not. I am a begginer in asp, but well versed in flash.
Is it possible to either access the properties, such as 'url', of a embedded media player object server side to change them? Or possibly dynamically create a new media player object with a different 'url' each time?
I am trying to change the property based off of a selectedindexchanging event of a gridview object.

I want to secure a particular set of files in a folder by role type. I have the following entry (See below)...I notice this doesn't work (I.e., it doesn't secure the file by Role Type.. anyone can access the file). I've read that I need to map the .WMV extension to the ASp.Net DLL.
I have developed asp.net 2.0 website with crystal report now what my problem is whenever i go to crystal report page its by default going to login.aspx or default.aspx though i didt set any login to my asp.net page..
I talk with my hosting provider they said that the asp.net impersonate is enable..

so i need to know how to enable anonymous access from my webconfig ..
I have an ASP.net 2.0 website that sits on a Windows XP SP3 box on IIS 5.1. The website needs to go across a UNC path to another server to grab an image file. Both boxes are in the same workgroup but no domain is setup. I have created the same user on both boxes with the same password and the website is using anonymous access using that account. The account is an admin on both boxes(i know security risk but this is for testing). File.Exists() just keeps returning false but the file is there. I suspect it has something to do with the ASPNET account but i'm at a loss. I've tried aspnet impersonation using that account as well with no luck.
I have a class library. In one of the classes, I am adding a script reference on the page like this:
protected override void OnPreRender(EventArgs e) { base.OnPreRender(e); if (this.Page != null) { ScriptManager sm = ScriptManager.GetCurrent(this.Page); ServiceReference reference = new ServiceReference("~/Admin/Services/ContactsService.asmx"); reference.InlineScript = true; sm.Services.Add(reference); } }
For the ServiceReference file path, is there a way to add an embedded file instead? I want to keep everything self-contained in my class library instead of dropping a file into the website folder.
I want to integrate paypal inside my shopping cart. For that it requires a html form to be embeded inside .aspx page with the action to paypal and method is post. Inside that form there are some hidden input filed. I want to assign one of those hidden field's value from server side code so i need to access that filed from server side. But how? Here is my form:
I have an ASP.NET project and want to include an XML file inside the project to store some relatively static data. To do this I selected "Add File" from the solution context menu and picked my XML file. Having added this to my project, I then wanted to load the XML from within code. I tried the following:
XmlDocument xmlDoc = new XmlDocument(); xmlDoc.Load("MyData.xml");
I also tried:
XmlDocument xmlDoc = new XmlDocument(); xmlDoc.Load("~/MyData.xml");
But it seems to be looking in the current directory (i.e. my VS2008 directory) and not the project. Am I going about this wrongly? Is there a way to simply reference a resource that's embedded in the project like this?
