Web Forms :: Dynamically Create Childrows Inside GridView
Apr 10, 2012
I am trying to create a dynamic table inside a gridview as childrows when we select a dropdownlist item in a row.
consider in dorpdownlist the items are 1,2,3. When we select 2 in dropdown, 2 childrows should be created. When we select 3 three child rows shouold be created.and default is 1.The dropdown list is inside the gridview which is a part of childrow.
I have a gridview which contains a templatefield. Inside this is an ImageButton and a dropdownlist. This is all created in the aspx page, although the ddl list items are populated in the RowDataBound event in the vb page. When i change the selected item in the drop down list and hit the imagebutton, the selected item is not maintained after postback. Instead the first record is displayed in the dropdownlist. I have wrapped an If Not Page.IsPostback around the datasource and databind's but this doesn't help. I have tried enabling viewstate in all areas on the page too, but still nothing. The list items for the ddl must be created on RowDataBound also. As far as I am aware, my ddl is not really dynamic, its just the list items which I add in the code behind which are classed as dynamic.
I am having Gridview ie : inside i have placeholder, So on Gridview_RowDataBound - according the Specific Condition getting from DB then - i am Creating the Dropdownlist dynamically here and assign Datasource. so up to this its ok. My Problem When the user Select any value on the Dropdownlist on Gridview ,
i have one button outside the Gridview so if i click the button i am want to get the dropdownlist selectedValue so on the Button_Click Event
i used foreach row in the Gridview.. but i do no how to get the value. as the Dropdownlist is create dynamically on Gridview_RowDatabound event. but here what i have to write to get the dropdownlist?
I need to create a TemplateField column dynamically , which will contain dropdowlist controls. I've been using this example to create my first dynamic columns and for the last column, the one that contains dropdowlist controls, I've written this class:
[Code]....
But what I don't know is, where should I populate the dropdownlist control?
I am trying to add/insert linkbutton dynamically inside gridview row, below is the code
[Code]....
Problem I facing is that the data table is getting created fine with teh linkbutton as well but the gridview is not showing the linkbutton. upon executing I am only the column which is of string type.
I want to create input inside gridview, the id of the input is set by me. I do want to use HiddenField control because when generating the id of the control, it will set id to gridview_ctrl.....
The input looks like this: <input id="myid01" value="myvalue" type="hidden">. Note that id is generate by me in the code behind.
What I want to do is to put a "(reported as invalid)" after the name in the GridView. However, I can't figure out how I can do this, or whether or not I should actually do it in the .aspx file. The field that I am going to check for validity is called invalid, and is a bit. Here's the GridView:
HyperLinkColum hlc = new HyperLinkColum(); hlc.Datatext.DataTextField = "PK"; myGridView.Colums.Add(hlc);
I wanted to call a page say "test.aspx" and to send the primary key of the relevant row to the "test.aspx" page and then how to retrieve this values in the "test.aspx" page
I'm having difficulty trying to create and persist controls inside of a gridview during postbacks. I have an unbound Datagrid control which is created with x number of rows and y number of columns during the Page_Load event.
[Code]....
During the RowDataBound event of the GridView, I create a placeholder control and then I create a label and add the label to the placeholder
[Code]....
On the first page load when navigating to the page, the grid dispays perfectly and the labels are created with no issues and I can see the "1" in every single cell of the Gridview. I basically need the labels in the cells to store an ID when the cell is clicked (the click event works with no issues, wired it all up with javascript) and Since the Cells to not exist prior to "Building the matrix" method, How can I persist the Label controls inside of the tablecells between postbacks so I can assign and read values from them.
I've read a number of online posts from 4guys from rolla and they demonstrate how to persist a handful of controls dynamically created in a staticly defined PlaceHolder conrol outside of the complicated setup of the gridview and have failed at adapting them. The golden rule seems to be to 'recreate' the controls during Page_PreInit during the postback, but I can't seem to get it working.
I have a dropdownlist("ddlTemplate") control and a gridview("gvPlanning") control with 1 BoundField column, 1 TemplateField column and remaining columns will be generated dynamically from database. In TemplateFiled Column i have 3 image buttons viz: Edit, update and cancel.Gridview will be populated based on the selecteditem of dropdownlist.
if i click on edit imagebutton, i need to add textboxes dynamically in all the columns of that row except first 2 column. And if i click on Update imagebutton i need to retrieve the textbox values.we can add template field column for textboxes also, but why i am sticking to this method is.. the number of columns changes depending on the selecteditem from the dropdownlist. Eg: If i select india from dropdownlist the number of columns in the gridview would be 4 and if i select UK from dropdownlist the number of columns would be 9 likewise.
I am requested by my manager to develop a web page called staff deployment plan that will involve two GridViews, that is the Parent GridView and Child GridView. The Parent GridView will display two columns which are EmployeeNames and WorkingDays - the working days column is a heading of Child GridView and the child gridview displays columns as current working days for example: the month of November 2014 has 20 working days excluding weekends and public holidays in South Africa, so the columns for child gridview are like this:
3 Nov, 4 Nov, 6 Nov...etc
The problem that am experiencing now:
Is to add LinkButton for each column on the Child GridView and to create command event for each linkbutton inside a child gridview (remember this child gridview is inside a parent gridview) and the link button when is click it should display a popup window.
I have data on SQL server like this:ItemID QuantityI would like to display that data in GridView using templates. The thing is that instead of Quantity in numbers I would like to display text:Green text saying "item on stock" when Quantity > 0Red text saying "item unavailable" when Quantity = 0My question is, how should I implement such functionality? How to generate such HTML tag dynamically and add it to the template?
am using an Asp.net web application with C# code and my requirement is to create a Gridview programmatically with Auto generate columns false and i need to add textboxex and dropdown list boxes and Search buttons also in the gridview.
i need to customize the controls of Gridview columns and rows.
I'm currently in the process of creating a webshop. This webshop supports theming, but I also want customers to choose a lay-out. I can create multiple masterpages and create a handler to dynamically set the correct master page. But some components, like the shopping cart, are controls which have to be present in the master page and are also used in the aspx pages. The shopping cart control for instance, has an Update method which is called whenever the user adds a product to their cart. So the question is: can I somehow create a default masterpage which has all the components on it, but still be able to create multiple lay-outs. And how should I reference that master page from the aspx pages? I also thought of creating an Interface class which defines the masterpage and it's public components, but I don't know if I can reference an interface from aspx pages.
I am trying to create a composite control - A textbox, gridview and a button. When I create the grid dynamically, I use my function GridViewDataBind() that will basically create the gridview at runtime and bind it with data. In this method, I add a blank column (first column for expand/collapse image), databound columns (using custom Itemtemplate), a placeholder, then a new html row/cell and a child gridview. I want to know how can I add these html rows/cols to my gridview. Here is the code:
[Code]....
Not sure if the approach is right and if I was able to explain my problem?
I have an UpdatePanel with a GridView. This GridView has a template column that is a DropDownList. The problem is that the SelectedIndexChanged event does not fire for the DropDownList. Here is the code:
