Web Forms :: Firefox Not Displaying DropDown Menus?

Apr 1, 2010

I have a masterpage that contains all my dropdown menu controls. The 2 largest browser hits on my site are IE and Firefox (in that order). I just recently updated to the latest version of Firefox and now... my dropdown menus no longer appear with Firefox but still do with IE.

There is nothing strange going on with my masterpage and it used to work fine in both IE and Firefox. Not too sure what is going on and can't seem to find anyone else who has posted on this subject.

Web Forms :: IE8, Firefox 3.6.8 Renders The Dynamic Menus Without The White Background?

Sep 2, 2010

Ok, everyone knows that the z-index is messed up in IE8 and that requires patches or workarounds...

What I can't seem to find a solution to is the white background on the DynamicMenu parts of a Menu control. Setting the background color to transparent or not setting it all doesn't seem to have any effect. This is only a problem in IE8, Firefox 3.6.8 renders the dynamic menus without the white background.

Web Forms :: Creating Two Cascading Dropdown Menus?

Apr 30, 2010

I need to create 2 cascading dropdown menus for a website. I am really new to ASP so don't understand a lot of it yet.. now is that the website pulls the list items from a SQL database and I don't want to use this method. I need to use either JavaScript or just hard code the items. Here are the directions for what I need to do:

Drop down list box for selecting a state (populate it with names of five states)

Dropdown Menus That Use Jquery Don't Work Properly

Aug 27, 2010

I designed a simple site with some css and jquery. All the css is in the header using and the javascript files are in a folder called Scripts and referenced in my site like below. Everything is beautiful locally, but on the server some objects such as a couple of my divs are out of their original positions, and my dropdown menus that use jquery don't work properly but they do work somewhat (like they slide down or fade). I have made identical folder structure in root on the web server. I am using .NET 3.5 and the server does support it.

Do you guys think it can be a path issue for my scripts? What could cause the css to move divs out of position? Does css or jquery behave differently on different servers?

Forms Data Controls :: 2 Dropdown List / "Displaying A Dropdown List Of Categories With A --None -- Option?

Oct 10, 2010

I am stuck at this point "Displaying a dropdown list of Categories with a --None -- Option. I want the gridview control to display 2 dropdown list one in read-only mode and the other in edit mode. When a record is in read-only mode, the dropdownlist's enabled property will be set to false."When it's on a read-only mode, it doesn't display the selected Category. it shows but the "No Category". When i click on edit to edit or change category, it doesn't display the selected category.

The example is given below( I am reading the book Sams Teach yourself ASP.NET 2.0 by Scott Mitchell. page 628)

Firefox - Displaying Images And Documents Using Across Several Browsers

Feb 2, 2010

I have a webpage called DisplayBinaryData.aspx - the purpose of this page being to display/download any word, excel, pdf or images. I call this webpage and pass the id of my BinaryData entity using a querystring. The BinaryData entity contains the file, filename and contenttype uploaded using the asp.net fileUploadControl. The code in the page load is below:

BinaryData obj = GetBinaryObjectById(int.Parse(Request.QueryString["id"]));
Response.Clear();
Response.BufferOutput = true;
Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + obj.FileName);
Response.ContentType = obj.FileContentType;
Response.BinaryWrite(obj.BinaryFile);
Response.Flush();
Response.Close();
Response.End();

This code executes perfect in IE,but fails when executed in FireFox. IE prompts the user, either to save or open the content. FireFox also prompts the user, but the dialog box fails to save or open any content. When executing this in google chrome - there is no dialog box, it starts downloading the content automatically.

Ajax Update Panel Refresh And Dropdown Behaviour In Firefox

Sep 30, 2010

I have found an odd bug in my application. I have a dropdown status which is bound to my gridview. On selecting a status from the dropdown the selectedindex then fires and binds the results to the gridview.Now the strange behaviour in firefox and not IE:If I have a dropdown open and an ajax update fires on my gridview the option is selected from the dropdown (just by hovering my mouse over it rather than selecting it) and the results bound to the gridview. This does not happen in ie as you should have to physically select an item from the dropdown rather than firefox selecting it for you because you happened to hover over an option when the update event fires.

Forms Data Controls :: Datagrid - Displaying Specific Columns As A Dropdown

Mar 16, 2011

I have a datagrid which displays a list of user data, such as name, his or her status, age. I have created a list of rows of user data but where the column shows status for example Single, Married, i want it to create a dropdown list where i can easily change the user status by selecting it from a dropdown and clicking the update button at the top of the datagrid. The update button will update all records that have been changed not just from the dropdown. I assume the dropdownlist requires a columnbinding event but i can't find any straight forward tutorials.
