Web Forms :: Generating Multiple .NET Controls With C#
Jan 11, 2010
I want to add multiple DropDownLists to my ASP.NET page with C# when another dropdownlist changes. It works with one DropDownList but my problem is that I want to create new ones in a for-loop.
This is what I have now:
[Code]....
I would like to use something like this (I understand that this is wrong but hopefully you get the point):
I'm currently developing a program using ASP.NET 2.0 (C#) and i am using Reporting Services 2005. One of the report requirements is to export a data to an excel with multiple excel sheet.
Is there other way to generate multiple excel sheet using the reporting services? if yes, i would like to ask a sample code..
I am displaying the output of a LINQ query in a Detailsview control. I have a Detailsview called DetailsCaAb and a DropDownList called DropDownList2, when the use makes a selection from DropDownList2 the Linq query fetches the data CatAbstract from the table CatagoryTables. e.g.
[code]....
Unfortunately I cannot seem to control what is displayed by the DetailsView, I only want to display CatAbstract, but the details view generates another column called Items. How do I ensure only the data I want is displayed? I need a way of controlling the columns generated programmatically.
I want to generate serial number in gridview but the serial number should be equal to the count of records for a particular column(in my case No. of Villages).
I know how to generate serial number but i am unable to generate number of rows equal to the number of records of my datatable column(Village_Name---say for example 45 rows--- any no. of rows)
I am using following code to serialize class object into dataset. Storing the dataset schema in a viewstate, when I try to read the schema from viewstate getting following error.System.Xml.XmlException: There are multiple root elements. Line 20, position 2.Please let me know how to resolve this error.
I have a Gridview that I am using in a User Control. The grid loads great and my paging buttons that exist outside of the grid itself work properly. When I click my delete button inside the grid, I am getting an invalid postback message. How should I handle this? My control raises one event by the way.
In my Admin page, I have a drop down list containing all current user tables in the database. The user chooses one.
My DetailsView below uses that parameter to populate itself with data from that table. The stored procedure used to select the data passes a string to sp_executesql. The string is concatenated from a select statement and the tablename parameter. Can I do something similar for Update/Delete statements? I'm not sure of the best approach, given that I won't know which/how many fields will be in the DetailsView at runtime, and which of these are keys - the choice of table depends on the user. I think Insert will be straightforward - am I right? I would like to streamline things as far as possible. Is it possible to dynamically pass in the values in, say, a string, and get my stored procedure to understand them? And what's the best method of grabbing the values from the DetailsView in this situation?
I'm creating entity on a project to use them as data on my website. I got my base simple entity Users and my DataContext. The thing is i would like the database to create the table as i create Entities.
I mean, actually my database doesn't have a Users table and do not generate it as i build and launch the project. I used to be a Java dev and in Java the table can be created with JPA so i guess Microsoft made it possible with ASP.net but how to do? I've looked on the web but didn't find it.
How to achive this using any of the data control gridview, datalist or repeater control ?the numbers 1,2,3....31 are the days in a month while "HomePage", "Maps" etc are the name of the pages and the entry below each date will show no of users visited the page. I want to show the same for every month
i have fetched required data and the output is as follows .
Now the same code when I copy it in my project having masterpage . there is no compiler error but it is genereating excel file withno data in it but in fact there is data in the grid view at runtime.
I have an inventory page with a gridview that shows 1 item per record, each item starts with a checkbox in the gridview. Currently users can select multiple records and hit the order button and everything has worked well. Now I have multiple pages in my gridview, and if a user selects a few records from the first page, and then goes to the second page, all the records (checked checkboxes) disappear from the first page.
I create reports sometimes with a gridview and export the data to excel. Lets say I have like multiple gridviews and I wanted to export each gridview to excel under its own spreadsheet.
So gridview1, gridview2, gridview3 are exported to excel under $heet1, $heet2, $heet3.
I know how to export multiple gridviews to 1 excel sheet but I don't know how to export them separately under their own spreadsheet.
I've been researching online, and i'm continously searching, but does anyone know how to do what i'm trying to do with the gridview and excel or is this not possible?
I've scenerio where i've two dropdownlist box (one dependent on other, displays handset brand name and on selection displays the respective model name), two combolistbox which is bounded to their respective datasource(Displays the fault and accessories).
Now i've to update the three tables booking(Handsetid, Brand, model), accessories(handsetId,AcesoriesID) and fault(handsetID,faultID). Ive to update multiple rows in Accessories and fault.
These controls are present in datagridview EditTemplate
I am writing a web form in C# using VS 2008. My form accesses an Access database that has a list of Cusomers. Each customer has a customerID. My goal is to allow the form to automatically generate a new customerID each time a user clicks on INSERT. I need it to take the highest customerID from the DetailsViewand add 1 to it in order for the customer ID's to be sequential. I am assuming I need a loop for this or maybe an Arraylist?
I've got an odd problem and can't figure out what's causing it. We've got 2 different DataSets in the same project and I'm seeing different generated code from the MSDataSetGenerator. Both projects are .NET Framework 4.
In one DataSet, I can open the .Designer.cs file and there's a line like:
[Code]....
This essentially exposes a Transaction property to any partial class I create so I can do with it what I want (by setting it to something).
In the other DataSet no matter what I try to do, this Transaction property never gets generated. I've right-clicked on both DataSets and chose "Run Custom Tool" to get them to regenerate (I've even tried deleting the .Designer.cs file before doing this) and they both get generated the same.
I tried to make sure all the properties of the DataSets were the same. Both are using .NET Framework 4.0 and VS2010.
The file that does not generate the Transaction was from a .NET 1.0 asp.net web site that has continually been upgraded through different .NET versions. Right now it's at 4.0 but I don't know if that would have anything to do with it.
when generating local resources by using ( "Tools"->"Generate Local Resource" ) i noticed that some controls disappear in run time.
is good to take advantage of Visual Studio to automatically generate it? or is better to create resource files and add meta:resourcekey="..." to my page manually??
I have a small form with some static elements that I am able to access with javascript the bring up a popup. 4 textboxes are generated and attached to a updatepanel. I've been trying various methods of validating the contols without generating postback.
I found anytime i registered a javascript to the scriptmanager the page must refresh.
How to generate and download PDF Report from database in ASP.Net using iTextSharp C# and VB.Net. I have a Nested GridView implemented from the following article:
Gridview inside Gridview in ASP.Net using C# and VB.Net
I have a page in which i need to show data in the form of a grid. Each row in the grid is made up of 2 sub-rows, the first sub-row consists of a dropdown, a textbox & a textarea. Whatever is entered in these controls should be displayed in the second sub-row in the form of labels at runtime (i.e. using javascripts)
There can be multiple rows like this. The grid would have a max of 30 row, not more than that. create this which one would be better, in terms of performance & complexity, a GridView or a DataRepeater?
I know that this issue has been raised on so many occasion and I am stuck with two options, one being to create a thumbnail folder whenever a picture is uploaded to the server, here I am using a folder with so many subfolder, upon saving on the server folder, I pass in the subfolder name and the file name, to retrieve the image i need the two parameters but also the resize sizes and as such this measure is almost abosulte.
the other way is to resize on the fly when the user is requesting the picture, this is where I have been stuck on and need some guidance. and here is the code
