View 4 RepliesI've got a dynamically populated drop down list and was wondering if web crawlers are able to see dynamically rendered data? Here is my static html below, and the end result to the end user is a drop down list that's populated from my SQL query within my datasource below.
View 1 RepliesI'm creating an quiz application which queries the database and extracts the questions and choices. I use dynamically created controls such as a checkbox list and fill the values dynamically. How do I do this? Right now I have these functions:
array_random_init(); this creates a 10 element integer array from 1-20 - extract_question(i): this extracts a question indexed at i in DB, I created the controls and set the appropriate text in this function. - validate_question(i); this is called by button_click and validates the question i according to DB.
I understand I have to recreate the controls in Page_init on postback, but what should it look like? Do I need to add "if IsPostBack" in page_init, or do I create the controls in page_init() and reset their properties in page_load when I use extract_question(i)? Also, I cannot seem to clear the selected boxes on postback, I added page directive "enableviewstate=false" but it doesn't work.
someone can help and provide some info or links to achieve the following:
I would like to prompt a message box with a drop down list that retrieves values from a sql server at runtime so user can select from. After user selects the value from the drop down list, the value is passed to the Master/content page to use as an additional query parameter to proceed to the next step to display content page.I understand how to create a message box in javascript, but I understand you can't do queries from javascript, if I'm correct.
so I have drop down list connected to a datasource, and I need to change 2 or 3 of the values before they are displayed and I'm just having trouble figuring out what to do. I'm assuming I setup some kind of loop to check the values, but thats all I can figure.
View 1 RepliesI have a detailsview which includes a drop down list bound to an array. However, when I click on the cancel button the dropdownlist values disappear. I have tried to solve the problem by rebinding the values back into list on the cancel command event, but this has made no difference. Does anyone know how to solve this?
View 2 RepliesI have a sample xml as;
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-9"?>
<DropDownControl id="dd1" name="ShowValues" choices="choice1,choice2,choice3,choice4">
</DropDownControl >
I need to create a UI representation of this XML using XSL. I want to fill the drop down list with values specified in choices attribute.
In my gridview I have a list of chassises paired with hard drives and the current chassis user. On editing I have a users dropdownlist and I have a dropdown list of hard drives. How can I make it so that if my Chassis type is "fixed" then the hard drives dropdownlist shouldn't appear (only the previous value will be displayed) but still allow the users the be changed?
View 1 RepliesI have a drop down list that has the initials of about 12 of our sales guys.How can I make it so that when they select their initials from the list, the next drop down list only shows their customers.In my database there is a column for customer name and salesman.

View 2 Repliesn a form I have multiple group of controls which are grouped using validation group property. I want to assign validation group to asp.Button dynamically on client side using javascript on the base of item selected in drop down list.
Here is JavaScript which I am using, but it is not working. It shows validation group undefined but actually a default group is defined.
<script type="text/JavaScript">
function NextClicked() {
var _ddlStatus = document.getElementById("<%=ddl.ClientID%>");
var _selectedIndex = _ddlStatus.selectedIndex;
var _btn = document.getElementById("<%=btnNext.ClientID%>");
alert(_btn.ValidationGroup); // here in messge it shows undefiend, yet I have defiend a group in button as default.
if (_selectedIndex == 1) {
_btn.ValidationGroup = "G1";
}
if (_selectedIndex == 2) {
_btn.ValidationGroup = "G2";
}
}

View 1 RepliesI'm new to web dev and c# so please bare with me. I am trying to create a dynamic gridview in a web form for users to to answer questions with (code below).
The dificulty im having is that i am nesting a dropdwonlist in the gridview and want to be able to dynamically set the list values based on parameters (of the row they are on). These values are in the main dataset for the gridview as each row represents a questionid and question text and then a ddl for the criteria...
I just don't know how to set the values for the dropdown all the code so far is below... just need to be able to populate the dropdowns with the relevant values.
I have created a stored proc to return the different criteria based on the questionid and questionGroupid which is the dataset that populates the other fields in the gridview: dbo.usp_QuestionCriteria @QuestionGroupId, @QuestionId
I have added this as a tableadapter called criteriaTableAdapter in a xsd file as well using the wizard... not sure if this is the right option though or just use the same method as i have for the other stored procedure as in the code below:

I have a requirement in my application that, while saving the application, need to get all the value from drop down list and pass it to the view model. But application should not allow the user to select more than one item from drop down list manually, ie, only one value at a time. My view model is like ...
public class ListManagement
{
public IEnumerable<selectListItem> InactiveProduct { get; set; }
public string[] InactiveProductSelected { get; set; }
public IEnumerable<selectListItem> ActiveProduct { get; set; }
}

View 1 RepliesI am trying to create an MVC List View that can be filtered by the value selected from a drop down list.
Selecting a value should repost the page ... Since there is no concept of view state data I am having some issues with this ... I can get the repost to take place but my drop down resets and I am not able to get the value that was selected.

I have tried many of the posts that refer to setting up drop down lists but can't set them up in the content because this is a List View.
I have a Drop Down List which I need to bind to the database. Here is the situation. I am not using a SQLDataSource. It is built on the n-tier application. The datasource of the dropdown is referring to a method in the C#class. That method has a generic array list which populates information into the arraylist. The Arraylist is the parameter that is returned to the DropDown List.
I have also set the Text property of the Drop down list
Text='<%DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem,"Employee_ID")%>'>
However, it is not populating the DropDown list, what should I do?
I retrieved values from database to drop down ,how can i make them as sortable.
View 5 RepliesI want to make a button that changes the value in a dropdown list (dropdown populated from SQLdatasource)This sounds strange i know but i have 4 dropdowns each hidden by panels, unless the preceeding dropdown's value is changed from it's initial value. So i make a selection from my first dropdown list & a postback occurrs triggering the next panel (and as such
the dropdown list) to become visible, this occurs again until eventually my users will see 4 drop down boxes...(all required field vals etc)
I am trying to write a web page where i have to select an item form a drop down list.
I am using linq to sql to get the data from the database.the strange thing is that i can register the data to the drop down list but when i select one of them the drop down list lets me to the first item. I set post back = true because i want to update the page every time an item get selected. I wrote a really simple code to check what was going wrong but still...no success. Below i am bringing the code i wrote.
