In my gridview I have a list of chassises paired with hard drives and the current chassis user. On editing I have a users dropdownlist and I have a dropdown list of hard drives. How can I make it so that if my Chassis type is "fixed" then the hard drives dropdownlist shouldn't appear (only the previous value will be displayed) but still allow the users the be changed?
I have a formview on my aspx page containing various controls arranged using table. There is a DDL "cboClients" which i need to enable or disabled depending upon role within Edit mode.
The problem here is that i am not able to get that control using FindControl() method.
I have a gridview and I do Add, Modify and Delete operations. I am comfortable adding and modifying any text or date value. Now, I have a dropdown list to be displayed. I need to add and modify. The contents in the dropdownlist is fixed. Below is the code. I know there is a problem in my
so I have drop down list connected to a datasource, and I need to change 2 or 3 of the values before they are displayed and I'm just having trouble figuring out what to do. I'm assuming I setup some kind of loop to check the values, but thats all I can figure.
I've got a dynamically populated drop down list and was wondering if web crawlers are able to see dynamically rendered data? Here is my static html below, and the end result to the end user is a drop down list that's populated from my SQL query within my datasource below.
i've run into small problem, here's the thing: i've got a dropdown list (ddlist1) that i am populating from a database, that works fine. However, depending on the option selected here, i need to populate another dropdown list (ddlist2). for example, if on ddlist1 i select option 1, on ddlist 2 i should get a list of options related to option 1 from ddlist1. If i select option 2, on ddlist 2 i should get a list of options related to option 2 from ddlist 1. and so forth. this information with which ddlist needs to be filled, comed from another database. o how can i go about this? m not sure yet how to code the second ddlist.
I need to be able provide a table on web page with one row which has a two drop down list and one textbox and the user's should be able to add any number of rows they want. I need to to this using jquery so that i can avoid post back. Is this possible to be done in Jquery and if it is possible i was looking for some example which will be like a pointer
I have a database with some data in. Now I'm trying to show that data on my page whit a ListView.
For each object from the database a ListView will generate a dropdownlist.
I also have a DataPager on my page and this is where the problem occurs.
Each object generated from the database has a field that may look like this example.: 1,2,3.
In my code now I´m trying to split this string of comma character and add new items to my dropdownlist.
This works as long as I do not have DataPager on. But if I choose to view an x number of pages at the time when the page loads, I have value in the dropdownlists, only on my first page.
n a form I have multiple group of controls which are grouped using validation group property. I want to assign validation group to asp.Button dynamically on client side using javascript on the base of item selected in drop down list.
Here is JavaScript which I am using, but it is not working. It shows validation group undefined but actually a default group is defined.
<script type="text/JavaScript"> function NextClicked() { var _ddlStatus = document.getElementById("<%=ddl.ClientID%>"); var _selectedIndex = _ddlStatus.selectedIndex; var _btn = document.getElementById("<%=btnNext.ClientID%>");
alert(_btn.ValidationGroup); // here in messge it shows undefiend, yet I have defiend a group in button as default.
if (_selectedIndex == 1) { _btn.ValidationGroup = "G1"; } if (_selectedIndex == 2) { _btn.ValidationGroup = "G2"; } }
I have a drop down list that has the initials of about 12 of our sales guys.How can I make it so that when they select their initials from the list, the next drop down list only shows their customers.In my database there is a column for customer name and salesman.
I am using cascading dropdown list where the no of dropdowns is created dynamically on the page. The cascading drop downs are contained in a User Control. I need to call a method from the Parent page which will be executed when the values in one of the dropdowns change. The server side event is not firing as I have set AutoPostback property for the dropdownlists to be false. How can i make the Page event fired from the Selected index changed of the dropdowns keeping the autopostback property to be set as false.
I am stuck at this point "Displaying a dropdown list of Categories with a --None -- Option. I want the gridview control to display 2 dropdown list one in read-only mode and the other in edit mode. When a record is in read-only mode, the dropdownlist's enabled property will be set to false."When it's on a read-only mode, it doesn't display the selected Category. it shows but the "No Category". When i click on edit to edit or change category, it doesn't display the selected category.
The example is given below( I am reading the book Sams Teach yourself ASP.NET 2.0 by Scott Mitchell. page 628)

How to write code in vb.net to control the Dropdown which is inside FormView EditItemTemplate. FormView named "frmFaultsReg" DetailsView named "lstStatus" Actually what i want to do that there is a textbox inside FormView EditItemTemplate and ItemTemplate to insert Closing date. lstStatus has a value PENDING and CLOSED. If a user select CLOSED from lstStatus then the date textbox named "ClrDateTimeTextBox" should show current date time and to insert into database and if user again selects PENDING from lstStatus then the date textbox should show empty. I think the postback of lstStatus should work but lstStatus is inside the FormView thats why I am unable to hook it.

I have 2 drop down lists.I have a very simple dropdown list #1 that diplays a title and holds an id value which is a GUID.I know it is getting this value and sending this value as I tested sending it to a label.I have the dropdown list #1 to autopostback to dropdown list #2 that "Is supposed to get" another title and value based on the GUID value of the first dropdown list. for some reason it wont return anything. I have done 100's of these but never based off a guid value.I assume the value needs to be converted to guid before selecting it in the second dropdown list.How can I do this? or is there something I am missing?
I have drop down list box that I would like to show two columns, is this possible? Or can it be done with a list box?The query correctly retrieves all of the table data to be displayed, one colum is an abbreviation, the other a bit longer description.
I have a requirement in my application that, while saving the application, need to get all the value from drop down list and pass it to the view model. But application should not allow the user to select more than one item from drop down list manually, ie, only one value at a time. My view model is like ...
public class ListManagement { public IEnumerable<selectListItem> InactiveProduct { get; set; } public string[] InactiveProductSelected { get; set; } public IEnumerable<selectListItem> ActiveProduct { get; set; } }
Does anyone know how to do this so when I select something the 1st dropdown and the 2nd one becomes visible and populates list from a Select statement. I really need help on how to do in an aspx and not on the code behind page.
