I am having two hidden fields which are server controls and i set the values in the javascript function. But i want to clear them as soon as one of my code behind method gets updated. As my page is not refreshing the hidden fields are not getting cleared. But i dont want page refresh.
So how do i clear the hidden field values without refreshing the page.
Can I reach the value of hidden fields in controller action ? And how ? Do I put it in the model somehow ?
EDIT: some code example how to store something in hidden field and retrieve it on postback.
I have two placeholders in one page and basically my requirement is that I want to show other placeholder on click of button which is in first placeholder without refreshing the page.
But when I m clicking on the button in 1st placeholder it is refreshing the page and then showing me second placeholder.I m open to hear any other suggestions also if it is not possible through placeholder.

I have a requirement where a user logs on to a server where exists a website. The user bring up the site on a browser on that server and loads a power point presentation slide. At that time, users using their laptop clicks on the link to that site and sees that particular PPT slide loaded on the server. Then the operator/user on the server clicks on the second slide and the laptop would now see the second slide. Is this possible to do? If yes, then what technology to use? DHTML? or something else.

Now the purpose of this , is to load the iframe after the page load event of the asp.net gets fired.
Now my problem here is that when the iframe loads , it does not pass the parameters to the url that is being set in the iframe.

When you run the project you will notice when the iframe loads there is an Error
"NO VCS ID"
now this means that the parameters were not passed when the Iframe loads , i can understand because it seems like iframe does not do a full form post. so to demonstrate what i want, click the proceed button and you will notice it will give you a page with no errors and it will be a page where credit card details are required , i want to iframe to load that the first time.
I have a combobox that is used as a control for Formview, so when the user selects a name from the combobox the data in formview displays in edit mode. However, some if the data that is displayed in formview needs to be empty. For example if the Date is being pulled in, it needs to be empty or null in edit mode.

View 6 RepliesI'm new to JQuery and recently started using the validation plug-in. I have a scenario where user have one of those type in your password and confirm your password textboxes. This is easilly accomplished with the "equalTo" rule how every my requirement is that once this failed the error message should be displayed and the textbox cleared. I assume there is no short and easy way todo this without writing javascript functions. point me in the right direction with a url or example.
Then a question to all you JQuery experts I've noticed "digits" and "number" to me they do the same thing? If not then explain the differance to me. Also how do I do a validation group in jQuery, similar to the asp.net validation controls assigned to a group and activated by a certain valodation enabled button?
HTML has an input button type to reset all fields in a form to their initial state in one step: <input type="reset" ... />.
Is there a similar simple way to reset all form fields of an aspx page from code-behind? Or is it necessary to reset all controls one by one with TextBox1.Text=string.Empty, TextBox2.Text=string.Empty, etc. ?

Context is a simple Contact/"Send us a message" page with 8 asp:TextBoxes on the page (where the user enters the name, address, phone, email, message, etc.). Then he clicks on submit, the Onclick message handler in code-behind sends an email to some administrator, and all the form fields the user filled in should be emptied and he gets a notification in a label ("Message sent blabla..."). I want to have the form fields cleared to avoid that the user clicks again on submit and the same message is sent a second time.

I have scenario, where there are html hidden fields, the page can be redirected to itself, with parameters, I have sessions too. Now depending on session value I want to set some hidden values, so that it can be picked up from javascript and can do certain operation. But, the problem is I have no idea about how to get/ set values into html controls using asp.net, and also do not know whether this is possible or not. it is imperative that I need some way to hold some data that can be set using asp.net and can be picked up by javascript. Since session can not be used for this purpose, so I need some other way.

And, by that, I mean I shouldn't be using hiddenfields on my .aspx page and setting values for those hidden fields in my codebehind. Problem is, I don't know how to ask the question.. so bare with me.. getting a value from a gridview, detailsview, or in this case a DataList when it's bound on a .aspx page, and passing it into my stored procedure? I am getting unlikely html tags for hidden fields in my website when redirecting to the page. I do not get it all the time but I am getting it frequently. e.g.: I was support to get

but I am getting something like

In order for hidden-field values to be available during page processing, you must submit the page using an HTTP POST command. If you use hidden fields and a page is processed in response to a link or an HTTP GET command, the hidden fields will not be available.
If I add a HiddenField control at design time and set a value in it at design time or in the Init event in ASP.NET, why would I not be able to read/process the value when a page is first requested?
I have a Contact page, with 4 textboxes and 4 field validators. I made a RESET button to clear the text when pressed. But for an example: if i type on 2 textboxes and then press the RESET button, it tries to validate all 4 textboxes.
