how can I control the border ( currently it displays thin-line border) and control the display of heading (currently it display 'untitled') and other similar features.

I am just started development in ASP.NET.
I have created one sample application for WebParts. It is working fine when I run it from Visual Studio or local environment.
But when, I have publish file in IIS virtual directory (in my PC or same PC) at that time it is stop showing Verb tool bar (minimize, close buttons of WebPart).

I am new in sharepoint development. I have 2 webparts attached on a page. The first webpart (MyTestingWebpart1) basically it does only inserting of data and the other webpart (MyTestingWebpart[2]) displays the records from the database. Now my problem is when I try to click on the save button, somehow I don't know how to refresh the webpart that displays the newly inserted record. Is this possible?
I have added a query at the page load event of MyTestingWebPart[2]. Both of the webparts attached are web user controls.

i have a hidden textbox in my aspx page. The aspx page also has a masterpage in the <% @Page> directive.

actually in aspx.cs i am getting txtType.ClientID="ctl00_MainHeaderContent_txtType"
I have a webpart in a webpart zone in this aspx page. In the webpart CreateChildcontrols() I need to access this hiddenTextbox value. I am able to access it as
string TxtValue = this.Page.Request.Form["ctl00_MainHeaderContent_txtType"];
But instead of hardcoding I want to access as a control in the page or form. How can I do that I want to do as looping through the controls in the page but Page.Controls.Count gives 1 and that is MasterPage. How can I get the entire controls in the page and loop through and find the hidden textbox. I also tried as string TxtValue = this.Page.Request.Form["<%=txtType.ClientID%>"] in CreateChildControls() of the webp[art. But could not access hidden textbox like this.

I cant access the custom control using the HTML DOM Like this: HtmlDocument doc = HtmlPage.Document;
HtmlElement element = doc.GetElementById("HostTest");
HtmlElement element1 = doc.GetElementById("silverlightControlHost");
HtmlElement element2 = doc.GetElementById("WebPartZone3");
HtmlElement element2Parent = element2.Parent;

all of the other elements are returned except for element 3 which returns a null! Any controls (regardless if it is a custom control, ASP control, Usercontrol . i tried it by replaceing the custome control with an aspnet button. i go t a null value as well) placed in the <ZoneTemplate> Tag of the <WebpartZone> is not returned using the HTML DOM. I find this stupid and pointless, as the whole point of a webPart is that you can place all sorts of controls in it :
customcontrols, usercontrols html controls, html server controls, aspnet controls and you cant seem to get access to those controls using the HTML DOM model in codeBehind

I need to place a webpart on the page. The webpart need to change Welcome control title. I need to change "WelCome UserName" to "UserName".

And I want to develop a WebPart, like a tab based control, like task manager, items (e.g. processes, users, etc.) are managed by tab on the top for different categories, and in each category tab, items are organized in list. i am developing an appilication using ASP.NET with C#. in my application i have used Tabcontainer control.
for that i have to remove the border.
so i had applied the style to the TabContainer control as

but when i use this, the border for header of the TabContainer also removed.as per my requirement i have to remove only the left,right and down border of the control and header will remain the same.

I know it's usually the other way around, but I have some extenuating requirements that must be met (read as "No one bothered to do the research and now I have to bail them out")
I have a standard user control (ascx) that is to be imported into a SharePoint 2007 website. Due to a design constraint, a sharepoint web part that is also needed has to be nested inside of this user control.
So in other words, the user control would have to look something like this:

I have few images on my aspx website and was trying to do a simple link to another page from the image. Noticed that the image control does not let me specify the url, and when i was playing wtih <a href... in source code i run into some issues.
Then i noticed HyperLink control and i used that one. In a property window i see "ImageURL", and "NavigateURL", so i guess that eliminated the need for a "Image" control.
The only problem that i run into with the "hyperlink" control is that once the link is created, the image has a "nasty" red border which i need to remove but i am not sure how to. I set border style to None and it did not work. Then i tried to set border width to 0 and still i have a red border around my image.
How do i remove that annoying red border and is there a better way to do image link with aspx?

I have a user control that has several data components
What I want to do is populate the data components based on the parent's page title where the user control is called.
The parent page title is the most logical unique name to each page and so that would be the name that I want to import
as the default value for the data components select parameter. Each page name is stored in my sql data table [Towns] as TownsName.
The general idea is that the control will populate with the towns data based on the page title of the parent page.

In my application I have the following message:Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

The dropdownlist contains simple strings (person titles). When you select a title, that title should be returned to my model. Controller code:

I am trying to change the color of the text in the title of a Calendar Extender Control from the AJAX Toolkit. I was having trouble getting the hover color to change, so I followed an example from this site:

.ajax__calendar .ajax__calendar_hover .ajax__calendar_title {
color:#FFFFFF;
}
But the font color doesn't seem to work. If I omit the ".ajax__calendar_hover", then the title text is white (until you hover over it).

I have a MasterPage set up with a div that has a border.
The ContentPlaceHolder is within this div.
My question is when I inherit this masterpage and place the content within the assigned area it sometimes overrun the div settings
which were done on the masterpage and displays over then masterpage div.
Is it possible to set the masterpage div to auto detect overspill of the content or can I set the size of the div on each page(even though its a masterpage div)?

Just started learning ASP.Net about three days ago and I have been ploughing through the fantastic tutorial videos. I have got to an issue with something that is demonstrated in this video: from 07:05 to 07:56.

The author changes the table row style to include a bottom border by changing the <tr> tag. I have tried this with no success and so I have been Googling and all of the posts I have found say that you cannot change a table row border. This does seem to be the case as I cannot get a change in the border of a table row to show, however it does work perfectly in the video I am linking to above.
the video is in MSWD 2005 and I amin WSWD 2010 but as these are producing HTML (and pretty basic HTML at that) I can't see that the versions would be an issue.
