I am having 2 web formsand will have a drop down list on those web forms. If i select a value from drop down and click on ok i will get tranfer to next page. In that page i will have a drop down with the same values in the previous form . What i need is i would like to disable the selected value in the previos form and would like to display the remaining normal.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to progam a strongly typed "Create" view using MVC 3 and razor. I want the user to be able to select a customer from a dropdown list (I populated this from my database using ViewBag in the controller). When the user has selected a customer I want a separate dropdown list to generate a list of dogs belonging to that customer related by the customerID in the database. The create button on the form will then take both of these values along with the the other fields and save it to the database.
View 1 RepliesI have a couple of dropdownlists and a button.when a user selects an item in the 1st dropdownlist,the 2nd dropdown is programmatically bound to a set of items(using an ajax request) depending on the value selected in the 1st dropdown.Then the user will have the ability to choose an item from the 2nd dropdown and click on the button,which performs some server side opeartions and returns the results.
But if the user tries to click on the button before the 2nd dropdown list is populated,user will receive an exception message.Instead of that I would like to prevent the user from clicking the button before the ajax request is completed to populate the 2nd dropdown.I tried using Button1.Enabled=false in the selectedvaluechanged event of 1st dropdown,which does n't seem to work.
I got one web page which is developed by using Asp.net. and in that page I have got one tab control which developed by using Ajax control toolkit (tab container). In that tab container i have got three tab pannels. In the first tab pannel have got two drop down list boxes and one image control box. wat I was trying to do is that by using calendar extender control in ajax control toolkit i was trying to display a day in the first drop down list box and month and year in second drop down list box. when user click on image control during run time a small calender will pops up and then user will select the propective date according to there choice and when they have finish selecting the date from the calender a day will display on first drop down list box and month and year will display on second drop down list box.
I was keep trying to do that but i was failed. then i took one test box from the toolbox and i was got success in displaying the user selected date in the text box by using ajax calender extender. How to display that date instead of one textbox into two separate drop down list boxes from which a user can select manual date from drop down list as well and from the calendar as well also when the page loads, the two drop down list boxes must show current date ( by default)

I have a databound dropdownlist and have a problem with the default value it selects.When I attempt to edit a record the dropdownlist shows the first value in the list rather than the current value. I want the dropdown list to display the current value.

I'm trying to set the selected value of a ddl during page load ie. before databind.
This causes "selected value does not exist" errors. So I force a databind, and add a new element if it does not exist in the data source.
However it looks like when the databind is performed later in the page lifecycle that my added element(s) are removed/overwritten.
Am I setting the values in the wrong part of the life cycle?

In my controller view, I have a got list of of items:
List<SelectListItem> PackagingService = new List<SelectListItem>();
Clicking the label of a drop down list, re-sets the selected value to the first item in the list. This has a history of causing data entry problems when users accidently click on the label.
In the below example ddlContactType has a selected value as 'PRIMARY' and whenever i click on the lblContactType Text, the dropdown box Selected value is changing to "Select One" Text.
How to prevent this one. It should be on PRIMARY Only.

I want to disable the cascading dropdown/dropdown after values are filled and selected on selection of radiobutton selected in RadioButtonList.
I tried to disable it, but in that case dropdown is getting empty.
How can i generate dropdown lists based on what has been selected in the checckbox list. I have a drop down that lists all our 40+ locations.. I then have a list box with all our locations as well. The client is presented with the question which locations have you worked at before. If they pick say 3 locations, i need to remove or disable those 3 from the drop down. I have other code for creating a drop down, but not sure where to go with this.

I've used VB to create a page whereby if a certain value from a ddl is selected then a hidden panel becomes visible. The problem is the likely answer to a majority of my ddl's is 'No' (or a no type response), however, even though the panel visibility remains false upon selecting No a postback still occurrs, the page refreshes and moves back to the top. I suppose this is a question with 2 possible solutions (or 2 questions rather)
1: Is there anyway of setting postback to false if selected value = No? A typical example of how my code appears is below

2: Is there a way of setting the page position after postback? As you can see in my code above i've set the focus on the next control (being a Radio Button) but i mean, is there an actual way of defining where the scroll bar is set?
On my current project I want to deny going back once my customers hit submit button and redirected to the final page. How can I deny from going back to previous page or some mechanism to expire the page if the back button is clicked. I tried this code and it didn't work

For the first item in datalist when i select a value then on Selected Index Changed event, i can see the LISTITEM "SELECT A HOTEL" instead of selected original value.NOTE: this is not happening for all the datalist items, only for first 3 items..
I'm doing property booking based project.
I have repeater control for search results.
For every search result I create a dropdown list with 2 month booking overview.

Then I call function to generate 2 months calendar view, which has two parameters generate(startmonth as Integer, sku as string)
Everything works when I hardcode starmonth as some integer.
I spent all day with no progress on how to pass value. I need a guide. I guess second problem will be to restore changed dropdown values on Postback, but one step at a time.
But what I want to do, to pass selected item value, to function, that would change view for property associated with this dropdown.
