On Button Click how to move the mousecursor position in web application???
In case of windows application on button_click i have written the following code:

p.Y = 400;
Cursor.Position = p;
This works fine & cursors position also change.
but how to do that on aspx page or in web application?
In my case also on button click i have to move the cursors position.

View 1 RepliesI have a custom user control that contains within it a repeater control. Inside this repeater I programmatically add another custom user control, which contains a text box and a custom validator. This final custom user control can be added any number of times depending on the application's logic. All of this is part of a wizard step. When the user completes the step, if any of the data added to the text boxes is incorrect the validator gets fired on post back. However, because I can have any number of these controls added to the repeater, the user has to scroll down to see any of the incorrectly completed boxes.
Due to the controls being added dynamically it is not possible to use a validation summary control - I have tried!!! Therefore, is there away I can use JavaScript to position a cursor or to jump to each incorrectly completed textbox without the user needing to scroll down the page? For example, if there are 10 textboxes, and textboxes 8 and 9 have numbers inside them inside strings, then the JavaScript should jump textbox 9.

View 1 RepliesI have a strange problem on my website that affects both IE 7 and IE 8 browsers, in that on a form with textboxes, once the cursor is placed in an active / enabled text box, the cursor itself shows up like 2 or 3 pixels to the left of the textbox. Mind you not a show stopper, but it is weird, because when you type text into these, the cursor flashing still appears before the last letter type. I think users will find that a bit confusing if they notice it.
I've verified that this is not happing in Firefox, Safari or Chrome.Any thoughts or ideas how to fix this?I tried padding the text box to move the cursor over, which worked but didn't fix it from showing up before the last letter typed.

I can't seem to move the controls in the designer to a new position.
If I go to Tools - Options - HTML designer and check
"change positioning to absolute for controls added using toolbox, paste or drag and drop "
I then can move the controls.
But If I change the ID of the control, it moves to the upper left corner
And I can no longer move it.
Just started using VS2010. I am not able to move controls, in the CSS styling I checked the "Change position to absolute...." and still I am not able to move controls. Some other set up I missed?

I am rather new to asp.net but I have built a couple of apps that do not require users to login. am having some problems moving my secure .net application from my laptop to a production server, however, and I am hoping someone can help me. On my laptop my application's user authentication functions as it should, but when I move my application to a webserver I get an assortment of errors. Forgive me if these questions are a little basic. My first question is this. In a production environment do I move the ASPNETDB.MDF file in the App_Data folder to my SQL server? Is it OK to rename it to something more descriptive?

i want to get data from database of field Name and Gender, and then display it in Label name and gender. when i click save it move to next record and display name and gender that next record.
We have an already existing project on IIS and we want to move to Apache (windows) with mod_aspdotnet. What things could not work? If we use 3rd party DLLs? Will office components work fine (export to Excel, Word, etc). If you have any experience on this type of migration, I'd like your inputs! Also, is there another alternative to mod_aspdotnet?

I did some unit testing and changes on the converted web application project. However, my co-worker was doing UI testing on the web site project. We need put UI testing and unit testing to the web application project. Is it possible to move the UI testing code that my co-worker did to the web application project I am working? If so, how do you do it?

There are three textboxes here, you must enter more than 2 characters for a textbox to validate. When the page loads tab into the first box and type 'abc'. Then tab into the second box and the page will validate. However, when it postbacks you'll be reset into the first textbox again. How can I accomplish a more smooth transition from one control to the next?
I have a form with about 20 textboxes on it, all of which have a customvalidator on them, and it would be much easier if the page were navigable solely by the keyboard without having to lick each textbox every time.Code is available if needed.
