Just started using VS2010. I am not able to move controls, in the CSS styling I checked the "Change position to absolute...." and still I am not able to move controls. Some other set up I missed?
In VS 2005 I could change the layout appropriately, to move controls in a web form in design mode, to a place where I intend to. But in VS 2008 , I don't see such an option. My controls are stuck in places of their own and I am unable to move them to the intended locations. Googling suggested to use Tools -> option -> HTMLDesigner -> CSS. But not sure that is the correct route.
I was using VS2008 everything ws going well but one day because of some problem i have to reload the windows and VS2008 and since then i am unable to open the designer. It does not give me any error message but i am unable to use any of the feature after clicking design or view designer from solution explorer.I have tried reinstalling the VS2008 but it does not solve my problem.
This is my first silverlight Application. I am trying to use Rating Control from 3.0 Toolkit with VisualStudio 2008 Here are the problems: I am unable to see designer view after adding Rating Control and few other controls. I am not getting any errors or warnings on markup or while compiling. Trying to access Property window for any control is giving me this message " Property Editing not available". Is this the way silverlight was made available with Visual Studio or is there something I am missing here?
We have a generic site which we deploy to clients and they personalise the text using the web parts. The problem we are currently experiencing is that they are unable to move web-parts between zones. This is not a JS issue as no errors are being thrown and this is not a CSS issue either, as we re-deployed the website here on our own server and it works perfectly fine. On our client's site, we can drag parts around in the zone it is in, however when we try to move a part out of that zone, we are given a circle cursor with a line through it. Adding parts to a zone is not an issue.
This could perhaps be linked to a previous issue of being unable to view any editable parts of a webpart. I resolved this by removing all the WebPersonalization from the WebPersonalization table in our MSSQL database.
I have a panel in aspx page. In runtime an creating a panel and set the background image, and am adding the textbox in panel created at finally we added it in panel at aspx page. How do you delete more than one entity at the same time in the designer Entities list. it seems that the designer interface only allows the selection of 1 entity at a time....

We have an already existing project on IIS and we want to move to Apache (windows) with mod_aspdotnet. What things could not work? If we use 3rd party DLLs? Will office components work fine (export to Excel, Word, etc). If you have any experience on this type of migration, I'd like your inputs! Also, is there another alternative to mod_aspdotnet?
Should bar on the HTML designer show the tag name? It sometimes does!
Here's an image of what I referring to.
I thought for sure it must be a bug but considering that I heard that MS was rewriting the editor (designer too?) I am starting to question whether I know how to use it!
Note the "TD" tooltip on the bottom right. Shouldn't this "TD" appear on the bar on the far right where the mouse would be?
I am using vs2010 and working on an ASP.Net Website my problem is the controls that I add to the designer surface disappear after I save and switch to code view. As shown in 'Fig1'
Fig1
Description: When I am using the designer surface, I will drag on a series of SqlDataSources and configure them. I then either save and close or just switch back to code view, if I switch back to code view the SqlDataSources do not exist but when I swtch back to designer view they are there, if I save and close then re-open the newly added control are not there.
I have one sproc with Dynamic Temp Table. Sproc returns dynamic temp table rows and when I drag and drop the sporc on to Linq to Sql Designer I am not getting Return Type as "(Auto-generated Type).
