I am looking for a way to improve user experience on a UI that can display on average 3K records in the Grid. Today's implementation limits grid on the page to 20 records with a "Next" option to continue through the data. Requirement is to load all of the available data in one shot and allow Sorting, Filtering, etc.
Environment: ASP.NET 3.5 SP1, WCSF 2.0, IIS 7.0

View 1 RepliesI have a web page which has about 11 gridviews.Hence the page takes bout 15 seconds to load.The grids are 1 below the other.They are populated at the page load.
I need a solution to reduce page load time. Is there a way,where the gridview loads only if user scrolls to it. I donot want the user to make selection for everytime he wishes to see a gridview. The page should show gridview if its data is bound to it, not waiting for entire page gridviews to get populated.
I wanna bind atleast 30,000 records in a gridview from a sqlserver table. I want to bind only 50 records at a time with grid view. The grid has also paging and when I click next page then next 50 records should be shown and another next page's click another 50 records.
How can I optimize this thing. I want that If 30,000 records are binding then grid should be work as binded 50 records.
In my database having 50 records,i wnt to display the first 10 record on first page of gridview and next 20 record on second page and so on..

I have a webpage which displays content drawn from a single record in a database table. I've been asked to change this so that the content displayed alternates between 2 records each time the page is requested by a browser (I guess this would equate to each PageLoad event).
The records to be displayed are chosen on the basis of two dates, a beginning date and and ending date, that define a time period in which the record is to be active. The table containing these records has 2 columns containing these dates (begin date is contained in "dtDisplay" and end date is "lastDisplay."
I'm not sure how to amend the existing code behind to make this happen. Here is the c# that I inherited from a developer who is no longer available.

I have a data grid in which I have to display around 12,000 records. Even if I do paging it is difficult to display all the records. Is there any other control or something else so that I can display all these records. Even if I make these as alphabetical also, some times I have to load 1000 records in a page which is difficult.

I have a list view with details about some products, which is working just fine. However, I now need to set up a pdf generator to generate a stock list. To do this I am using abcpdf.
The only problem I am having is getting the results to fall across the pages nicely, but this can be sorted by inserting the code

which lets me put it every two records. How do I modify this to insert it every three?
We have to select a record based on which we have to open a new page which will display the details of the selected record.
Now issue lies in the second part, which is:
User can select multiple records and new page open should display details for both the selected reocrds one after other.
That is, first details of first selcted record will be displayed and right after that details of second selected record should be displayed.
i have 4 dropdownlist controls in a page. each have more than 6000 records. when retrive the records from DB there is no issue and taking very less time. after getting the records it takes too much time to display in the the page. here no problem with db retriving.. i guess problem is with page weightage. how can i solve this problem..

Does it have to be alot of code as I have done it sort of already with an array and 5 repeaters? do arrays such as string[] a work when being hosted?

View 1 RepliesIn my web application, I have used AJAX Toolkit and my .net version is 3.5. When I run the application and save the page, so many ScriptResource.axd and WebResource.axd generate which makes the file size 200 to 300 KB more big. After doing the same procedures mentioned in the above link, it was working fine as all ScriptResource.axd and WebResource.axd file is removed.
But when I go from one page to another page using on click, then Object Expected Error comes and when I debug it,I found one ScriptResource.axd file containing query string like .axd?d=-bA.like this and Request. GetResponse cannot find the file and it gives 404 errror (File Not Found).
My page takes too much time to load.So I want to display loading image during page load.
View 2 RepliesWe have one Asp.net application developed using framework 2.0 with C#,Sql and AJAX. The application is running live from past 2 years almost. All the times users will be facing kind of strange problem, reporting some junk data will be displayed on the browser some times. When they refresh the page or reopen the browser, it will display the correct information.
For Eg. We have a stored procedure which returns months between 2 dates, if we pass 2 dates as '01/04/2010' and '30/06/2010' then procedure will return 'APR,MAY,JUN'.
Once case we have noticed where it has returned and displayed as MAY,JUN,JUL,AUG which is not possible. Once we refresh or reopen the page it displays the correct information.
This is one ex. whereas we have some other page also where we get unwanted values like that.
