I have a label1 in my aspx page, which property is set to visible = "False".
In the view source of the browser i cant able to find that label1.But using some other third party tool like "Burp Suite" etc ...
Can those label1 value could be seen or not using tools like "Burp Suite" etc ?
I developed an asp.net mvc application. In one of my forms, I'm getting a following
exception:
A public action method 'UpdateBasket' could not be found on controller 'App.Controllers.WebShopController'
But the funny thing is, that form submit works (even in debug mode) and finds an
ActionMethod UpdateBasket and returns View. The problem is that because of that html generated error w3c validators and google crawlers can't access the site (I think so, correct me if I'm wrong).

View 3 RepliesI have a form with a ton of gridview controls on it. All of which are driven by a dropdown list control. When I select a value from the dropdown list control it populates the 5 gridview controls with data from the database.If there are no rows associated with the record from the dropdown list then I am going to set the visible property of all of the gridview cotrols to false.
I know how to set the property I just need to know where I would set it and what I would check.I can put my code in the selectedindexchanged event for the dropdownlist control but how do I check to see if there are no rows associated with that value? Maybe some sort of If gridview1_rowdatabound = 0 then...
I have a problem that in DetailsView Edit Mode, if I go to edit fields, and set a fields visible property to false, when I update the record through the built in update options it sends a null value. If I change the field back to visible, it passes the data just fine.
Consequently, I tried just setting the field to Read Only = True, and got the same result even though the current values do show up in the edit mode, just read only.Is there anyway to hide the field but still allow it to pass the data it currently has "BACK" into the record.
Hi I have a situation where I want to set the initial visible property of an Image to False and then in my code change it to True and then run a sub routine. My problem is that no matter how I order the code the sub runs before the image becomes visible. When I debug the image only becomes visible when it hits End Sub. Is there any way around this? I have a database field called ImageLocation, I have the ImageUrl property bound to: Eval("ImageLocation", "{0}")I would like to bind the Visble property to false if the ImageLocation is null data. I can not figure out how to set the control properly, currently the Datalist shows me all the data and when the image location is null it shows me the name of the Hyperlink control which happens to be Hyperlink2.
View 2 RepliesI have a problem displaying data in a Grid View control when set a row to visible = false when a certain condition is true.
For example, if a DataRowData value has a condition set to true (custom in table) I set the visible property to false, so the data row will not be visible at run time.
The problem is that I'm using paging (10 rows per page) and if 8 of those rows fall into the true condition that won't show the row, that grid view page will only show two rows of data in page 1. The worst scenario is that if I go to page 2 of the grid view and all the rows (10) fall into the true condition, that grid view page will not show any data at all.
How can I show 10 rows of data at all times in a gridview? In other words, I would like to just show the visible rows at all times.
Using StringBuilder im building my object in code behind so its customize for our needs.. I placed a Literal control within the modalpopup and populating it when you click on a button..On my test page everything works great to display it and when fed a value video file, it plays.. on that page, it wasnt contained within a modalpopup.Now on my actual dev page that i need it on, i placed the literal control within the modalpopup, and when you click on the button, it builds the object..my modal popup comes up and everything shows up except the object which is weird, because within the stringbuilder i have 4 buttons below the object and those show up, just not the object control itself.. can a object not be built and displayed like this?What makes it weirder is that when the modal popup opens, you can view the source of the page and my entire customize object control is there, but it just doesnt render on the page..
View 4 RepliesI'm looking at a website using Internet Explorer and Firefox. In each browser I select view source and see the website's URL in the links. These links were concatenated together using HttpContext.Current.Request.Url.Host in the code behind. However, when I use netcat or Burp Suite v1.3.03, looking at the same links I see the servername instead of the website's URL.
My question is - Why does view source in the browser display different links in the page source than what netcat or Burp Suite outputs? Is the browser rewriting stuff?
My thought to correct is to have a web.config setting which is used to create the links.
Next question - Does anyone know of a configuration change to make to IIS to return the URL instead of the server name or a .NET function that I should be calling instead to get the URL that the website is running as.

So when i select "Yes" from the first drop down, the "hiddenDetail" label becomes visible and when i select "No" from q1 the "hiddenDetail" label becomes invisible.The problem is that because i am using AutoPostBack when you select "No" the "hiddenDetail" loses its children (i.e. the label inside it) which is obvious why but i am wondering, is there anyway i can make the "hiddenDetail" invisible (sort of like display:none in style) in VB without losing its children. The problem is the CertId field in the GridView has visible set to false. I think this makes the value unaccessable to the RowCommand.
