I'm not sure if the title makes any sense, but this is what I'm trying to do. I have multiple buttons and it's connected to this single event handler. The labels for each button is btnXX, XX being the row and column.

I have a dynamic data bound drop down list, when the user selects thier selected item I have to use the autopostback feature.
Problem is: when the page comes back it is at the top of the page not where i have the control.
I don't really need it to focus back on the dropdownlist but to scroll to it, I want to do it in the code behind.
Any "New" ways to do it, I mean new as in code from like 2010 instead of old code from the early days.
I really don't want to use Page.Register new Script...... code if I can avoid it.
What would be cool is a ScrollToControl() Function for my code behind that worked but didn't register script.

I have created a back button on my asp page. However, I would like this back button a a sinlge click to return the user to the page 2 pages before. I have tried to enter the history.back(2) but with no luck it does not work.
i m having problem with logout code in asp.net with c#. this logout code should end session, disable browser's back button and and if somebody try to login by paste the url of any user account page.i used this code in login page

I have a gridview bound to a sqldatasource with editing enabled. If I click Edit, then either Cancel or Update, the update or cancel occurs and the Edit button reappears. However, I cannot then click the browser's back button without having the Update and Cancel buttons reappear. A second click of the back button takes me to a state where the Edit button shows again, *then* another back button click will take me to the referring page (the one before the one with the gridview on it.) IOW, it looks like the postbacks are cached. How can I prevent this and have the back button go straight to the referring page?
View 4 RepliesI am trying to see if it possible to create a back button that goes back 3 pages and refreshes that page. The make up of my page is a little complex. The Home page has a password prompt that enables a multiview to be visible with a gridview of information. The gridview has a details link that has a 2 querystrings that gets sent to the details page. The details page has the ability to be edited and updated. this is why I wanted it to go back 3 pages. View 6 RepliesBeing new to ASP.NET I have run into trouble building my own Whack-a-mole program. I think my problem comes from using Buttons, which by themselves send post backs to the server, making the software unusable. The looks are in place, making new buttons show up in the grid, in different places by random. However, when a button is pushed - the score doesn't change (which I feel is strange).
Not so strange is that the Button doesn't work since it sends post back to the server - reloading the UpdatePanel. I think I should use a different controller like the CheckBox and style it hard using CSS (which isn't a problem). Is this the correct way to go, or should I make use of JavaScript AJAX instead?
Note to self: This technique shouldn't be used in a public application since it put too much unwanted pressure on the web server.

Why am I getting two records inserted into the table, when I'm expecting and needing one? The VB code below is checking whether the HTTP is secure or not, and if it is then execute the SPROC. But for whatever reason, I'm getting two records inserted about 5 seconds apart. Does anyone know why and how to fix? I just need one record.

Has anyone ran into problems using masterpages and inserting data into sql? I have ran into this numerous times where I will set up a page using a masterpage, through a few controls on the page to insert data say from a datagrid, do an insert and the data never inserts.
Then I will change the page to a regular webform page, nothing differnet other than it's not using the masterpage, and wala, the data gets inserted?

I'm building a registration page. The form will insert into multiple table at the same time. I need to automatically get the data from one of those tables and insert it in a field into another 2 tables.

As can be seen both the tcoach_Members and tcoach_Roles table have a column named UsersToRolesId; this column is a foreign key to the UsersToRoles table.
In the UsersToRoles table the Id "Is Identity" and increments by 1 automatically. The UserName and the RoleName will be entered into this table upon registration of a user. Following this, in the Roles and Members tables, this Id number must be entered.
The question is, how can I grab this Id number from the UsersToRole table and insert it into both the Roles and Members tables, via code behind? Can anyone advise me of a way to do this?

i am pulling data from database to the pdf file but i need to show those data in page by page. Here i am using iTextSharp for pdf. Is there any page break options. I did try document.NewPage(); But it didn't work out.
View 3 RepliesI needed to redesign the input page. I have in place individual checkboxes to represent fferent selections. For the database, the result for these checkboxes are in a seperate table. The insert only works for the first table which are textboxes. The information is not getting stored for the checkboxes. I have it separately eventually the checkboxes will be used for a search feature. For example, the information of the company, phone, address are getting inserted into the database but the checkboxes refering to the business is not being stored. What am I doing wrong with my code? Note: The derived user controls having the same control layout as the base user control. Making copies of ascx page for CustomerSendMail & UserSendMail is not good idea, because if i modify the base's ascx page, the old CustomerSendMail & UserSendMail 's ascx page should be replace with the new one.
