This works fine without using a masterpage. What is the masterpage messing up here. Basically creating all dynamic controls. Linkbutton>tablecell>tablerow>table>panel>placeholder. The linkbutton id is not being set when building. The link button id is registered fine when not using the masterpage. Also using ajax.

Now what I want to do is, using JavaScript, hide the "phMenu" contents in the childpage. For this, I have written a function called " showHideMasterPageContent " in the masterpage which I am calling in the child page.
My trouble is that, I get a null reference since obviously, when I looked at the source, I see that only the contents of phMenu are rendered and not the phMenu control itself. Now how to refer to phMenu in JS ?

Loading the controls to the placeholder.
Selecting a value and clicking the button, doing postback, I want to capture the value selected in the ddl. I was using "FindControl method" but it is not working, I guess because the controls are created dynamically and will not show due to stateless HTTP.
How else can I capture the values? Is there away?
My code was actually working before. I think since I switched to .NET 4, it may have stopped functioning.What I do is this: I add some TextBox controls inside a PlaceHolder control. Then when user clicks the submit button, I am reading values entered into these texboxes.

I have a placeholder to which I programmatically add DataGrids... In the DataGrids, I programmatically add TextBoxes along with dynamic validations. Somehow, the DataGrids show up, but the dynamic validations don't work. If I set them to static, the blank space for them appears, but still, they wont work.

I'm a new in ASP and I have this problem. I do some small websurwey. Random questions per page, random count of questions, 4 types of questions (answears 1 .. 10, Text answears, ... atc.) I created webuserscontrol for each type of questions and these controls I dynamicly add to place holder in some page. There is everything OK, but when I click button on the bottom of the page, I need save the results from client, I need to know which radiobutton is selected and save it to DB and make some operation, and then, after saving, this page is reloaded and show next
Questions. This questions and settings I have in DB. My problem is, how to read data from my UserControls after button click (button on page, not on my controls)? Controls in placeholder are NULL in PostBack and after postback there are new controls. I endclose a small code which is "like" my original code, it is testcode to explaine to you.

I've got a number of MasterPages with ContentPlaceHolders. I do not know how much Placeholders are on the MasterPage. Now i want to load Content to the PlaceHolder, id the ContentPlaceHolder exists. When i use the this.Master.FindControl the MasterPage renders and the added Content would not be rendered. See: [URL] Soo I tried two posibilities of adding the content:

I have a site with a masterpage containing a header and footer, I have a content page that is populated from a database and the data can change size. When I view my page with the dynamic data the page is not sizing to the data thus running into the footer.
Is there a method of sizing the content placeholder to the data? I have tried adding a third <asp:Content> item to the page but that does not help/work. My code is wrapped in <div> tags. Style sheet doesn't appear to have anything interfering.

I am not able to find the TextBox inside Placeholder. The Ids are also randomly Generated. I debugged it but the code comes out of foreach loop .

I am dynamically creating a table that contains a textbox in each cell. The table is put in a placeholder control. Everything displays perfectly. The problem is when I go to retrieve the values entered in the cells. I have the code to generate the table in a separate method called CreateTable(). In order for my program to find a table in the placeholder when I go to save, I have to run CreateTable() in a postback event AND in the PageLoad event. If I call CreateTable() in only one of those places and I try to save, it says the placeholder is empty and, therefore, I cannot save the textbox contents. I've tried calling CreateTable() from InitLoad but that doesn't work because it needs to reference values from three static controls: 1 dropdown, 1 listbox, and 1 calendar control, which I don't believe have had their viewstate rendered yet.

View 2 RepliesI am using ASP.NET MVC 2 in Visual Studio 2010. I have a ASP.NET MVC application with a master page that contains 3 content placeholders. When I create a new view from a controller by right-clicking the action method and selection "Add View", I end up with a ASPX page that does contain the 3 content placeholders but in the wrong order. This is by design because in the T4 template used to create views "TitleContent" will be used first followed by the "MainContent" and after that all the other content placeholders are put.
I have a subtitle content placeholder in my master page that I want to put before the "MainContent" placeholder. Is there a way to achieve this with modifying the Create.tt T4 template?
just learning ASP.net and iv come across a small issue. Iv created a control in a c# class called myWebPart.cs:
[Code]....
and now im trying to add this control to my page using:
[Code]....
But it doesnt seem to be finding it, i keep getting the error: "Unknown server tag 'wp:myWebPart'."
Am i referencing the class wrong?
I have placed an <asp:Button></asp:Button> inside of an asp.net control in a subdirectory called "Controls".In the control's codebehind, I put an button_click() handles button.Click sub routine.The button is meant to grab information from a form, and then submit that info to the DB.The issue that I'm having is, the button just seems to refresh the page, and return to the page's original state (it loads the control the page should load on startup) and when I try it in Debug mode, the click event is never called, it's as if It was not there at all.Does anyone know what might cause something like this to happen? It's definitely a first for me.
