View 1 RepliesI've been reading through the fb developer api documentation and I'm trying to find out what would be the easiest way to post information on a website to the website's own facebook page. for instance - the assumed workflow is like this:
an admin user adds new content to the company website - and once submitted that content should automatically appear as a link on the company's facebook page.
Do I use the API, facebook Connect, a facebook Share button etc. Looking for some recommendations based on my assumed workflow. Project will be coded in c# (although I'm really looking for recommendations of which tool to use from someone's experiences with the api)
I'm using an ASP.NET Facebook Developers Toolkit (http://www.codeplex.com/FacebookToolkit) on an external website, and I'm also the admin of a facebook fan page for the website. Users on my website (may or may not be facebook users) create content articles.
I would like to hook up these articles to the Facebook fan page, so that, when they write the article, then ones with FB accounts can sign into FB and post on the Fan page. I'm sure they would need to be a fan first.
I have a php website with a login page containing username and password fields with the same exact html names. I would like to have a page in my ASP.NET page with a username and a password textbox field that sends the corresponding credentials to the php website using HttpWebRequest. How would I do that and how could I check the response to see if the authentication has been successful?
View 1 RepliesI need to send some parameters to an external website using the <asp:HiddenField /> controls and also at the same time, submit data to a sql server database. The part for submitting the data to the database is working, but I need to try to get the parameters from the hiddenfields to also be passed through. I thought all I had to do is create the hidden fields and in the code behind, set the values from the textboxes that the user would fill out.
My source code is below:
[code]...
What am I missing? The hidden fields are losing their value before posting to the external website. I've looked everywhere to see why this won't work.
I have a page that I am adding user controls to the bottom of the controls each postback. The User Control has a textbox in it and the focus needs to be on this newly created control textbox each time. It all works almost perfectly however when there are too many controls to fit on the page, because I set the focus to the textbox the bottom of the page is set to the textbox that has focus not the very bottom of the page. I have a submit button below this which ends up below the page limit. How can I set focus to a textbox but still scroll to the every bottom of the page to show the submit button.
View 1 RepliesI want to create a web application that can post article or blog on different website automatically.
Like in wordpress (php) there is a plugin support for this, so is there any plugin or anything else from which i can achieve my requirements?
i am getting error after post, when i am using dropdown in my mvc website, the code is as follows
ViewData["JobSite_JobCategories1"] = new SelectList(context.JobSite_JobCategories, "Id", "Category", null);
<%= Html.DropDownList("JobCategory", ((IEnumerable<SelectListItem>)ViewData["JobSite_JobCategories1"]))%>
<%= Html.ValidationMessageFor(model => model.JobCategory) %>
The validation is not working, and also after i catch error i fill the viewdata["JobSite_JobCategories1"] with selectlist again but still, it gives error There is no ViewData item of type 'IEnumerable' that has the key 'JobCategory'.
I have an HTML page witht the following details:
<form action="formprocess.aspx" method="POST" name="form1" id="form1">
When the users presses submit, I get the below error and for the life of me cannot figure out why!
I have tried GET as well, byt that just seems to post to itself and just puts the form vairables in the URL rather than going to formprocess.aspx.page you are looking for cannot be displayed because an invalid method (HTTP verb) was used to attempt access.Please try the following:Contact the Web site administrator if you believe that this request should be allowed.Make sure that the Web site address displayed in the address bar of your browser is spelled and formatted correctly.HTTP Error 405 - The HTTP verb used to access this page is not allowed.Internet Information Services (IIS)
I'm currently developing a website using ASP.NET MVC.I need this website to communicate with an external API using HTTP Post.
I'm unsure whether I should be coding this up in ASP.NET to perform the http post requet and read the response, or whether I should be coding this up in a c# class.It seems when developing a site, you have the option to chose either for many scenarios.
I have a website installed on one of our sales guys laptops and am having issues with the website hanging if left for 2 minutes. This doesn't happen on my dev box, my live machine or the other sales guys machine.
The website will hang. It's not just limited to this page, it will happen on all pages when I leave it for more than 2 minutes and then try and process a page that calls back via button or drop down ect. I have checked the IIS settings of the machine and everything seems the same as the other sales guys machine who is running the same version of the site.
Here are the specs:
Dev Box: asp.net 2, windows server 2008 64bit
Live Box: asp.net 2, windows server 2008 64bit
Working Sales Guy: asp.net2 windows 7 64bit
Broken Sales Guy: asp.net 2 Windows vista 32 bit (the only thing I can see different is windows version)
EDIT: For more information, if I stop the website from trying to load while it hangs, clear my history for the last hour and then refresh, the page comes back fine.
EDIT2: I have just spat out some debug information and it seems it doesn't even go into the post back I need.
EDIT3: This doesn't seem to happen when using Chrome but does when using IE and Mozilla.
I need to make an online automatic post tool using ASP.NET C# to post items (using post or get) to ASP (VB script) webstore sites, for example how to capture the post data and how to reproduce it using ASP.NET C#.
how to upload post and get variables also with cookies
I know this is a simple thing but i donīt how to.....
I have the website working on my pc .... but i want to get it online with the database.
Do i have to put debug to false to publish it?
I'm using a form to POST credentials to a page. I'm able to POST my credentials to a page, but I'm stuck on trying to load that page that I POSTed my credentials to. In other words, the POST works, but the page doesn't then reload...here's a code snippet of what I'm running. I suspect I'm missing something and my knowledge of classes is limited so maybe it's a particular class I need to use.
HttpWebRequest request = WebRequest.Create(url) as HttpWebRequest;
request.Method = "POST";
request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded";

I have 2 forms on one page. 1 search form which only contains a text field and a submit button and 1 registration form which has a few required fields. The search form need to post data to search.aspx.
<asp:TextBox ID="search" runat="server"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:ImageButton ID="searchBtn" runat="server" PostBackUrl="/search.aspx" />
everytime when searchBtn was clicked, the page will check all the required fields from registration form. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
I want to be able to post my form data to another page based on the result of a validation done on server (and not via javascript). As an example, let's say the user captures a customer number and then captures the phone number of the customer on page A. When the user clicks on the submit button, the page posts back. Then, in the button click event, I need to check in the database if the customer number exists. If it exists, I need to post the data to page B so that user can input the next information. If it does not, I need to stay on the first page and show an error message telling the user that the customer does not exists.
I do not want to use Response.Redirect cause that would mean that page B would lose the form data coming from page A. I know about crosspage postbacks but that just turn the problem the other way around (if I post directly to page B, how do I get back to page A with the form data and show the error message?)...I know about Server.Transfer too but I would like to avoid that method because I know there are down sides to it too...I tried setting the button target URL to page B after validating from the database but it does not automatically redirect to Page B, it still shows up Page A and then if you click again on the button you are taken to page B. I know I could setup a javascript to automatically call the click on the button to post the page the second time automatically to the Page B but I don't like that method (if the user has slow internet, he sees the page twice and once the user is on page B, he can't use the back button cause he would be automatically redirected back to Page B because of the script).So, is there a way to change the request target after the button's click code has been handled???
I've got a web page that will have information passed to it, and after doing some checking it will log the user that was passed to into a secure site. Currently I've got the code below working, it actually posts the respected page and logs me in. Howevever, the problem arises after it the login page appears. Instead of the url in the address bar of explorer showing the web address of the page I'm on it shows the web address of page that sent me to the log in. Is there any way using this code (or another set of code) that will allow me to do this? This is part of a single sign on project, and most of this is pretty new to me.
Dim postData =
String.Format("my post data")
Dim data
As String = postData
Dim uri
As New
Uri("my web address")
If uri.Scheme = uri.UriSchemeHttp
Then
Dim request
As HttpWebRequest =
HttpWebRequest.Create(uri)
request.Method =
WebRequestMethods.Http.Post
request.ContentLength = data.Length
request.ContentType =
"application/x-www-form-urlencoded"
Dim writer
As New
StreamWriter(request.GetRequestStream)
writer.Write(data)
writer.Close()
Dim oResponse
As HttpWebResponse = request.GetResponse()
Dim reader
As New
StreamReader(oResponse.GetResponseStream())
Dim tmp
As String = reader.ReadToEnd()
oResponse.Close()
Response.Write(tmp)
Exit Sub
End
If
Update: Ok, it seems as though the method above is "scraping" the response from the web page and placing it on my page. This isn't what
I want. I want to post the data and actually go to that page.

View 2 RepliesHere is the situation,
- a user submits a form from cfm page, then cfm page transfers data to asp.net(C#) page
here is cfm form tag
<form name="form1" action=[URL]
method="post" target="_blank">
<input name="fName" value="Hello" type="text" />
<input name="LName" value="World" type="text" />
</form>
How can I write asp.net c# to get inputs from cfm page?
I have 3 search pages which all implement IProductSearch. I have a results page that expects it's PreviousPage to be a cross page postback of type IProductSearch. The IProductSearch pages use the postbackurl property to post themselves to the results page. The results page then loads the search params from the IProductSearch page and loads the results. All in all its working well.
Now, I want to create a IProductSearch page that has no gui and takes all its values from the querystring. But as there is no button to press (therefore no postback url property) how do I get this gui-less IProductSearch page to cross-page post to the results page?
I'm migrating an old ColdFusion site to ASP.NET. One of the pages has a form that posts to an external URL.

I just discovered that you can't do this in an .aspx page. Seems the page will just post to itself if you hit the submit button.What's the proper technique for achieving this in ASP.NET? There are a couple of hidden fields that pass parameters to the external URL.
I have an input form on a page along with gridview and combo box. a user first select a filter combo box then click on search, to see a return values in a grid view format. then a user can enter new row once he / she cick add, i want the page to reload and the new inserted value to show in the gridview.
View 1 RepliesI need to post data from my asp.net page to a non-asp.net page that is offsite. How can I do that without redirecting to that page? IE: not using a button's PostBackUrl property.
View 8 RepliesI have an ASP.Net form that gathers some data, validates it and then submits it to PayPal. PayPal expects a form control named AMOUNT in the POST. However, since I am using webserver controls and validating that data, it comes across as ctl00$ContentPlaceHolder_Body$AMOUNT.What is the best way to change this over so that PayPal will be happy and the data can get properly posted? I could change them to <input> controls and not validate, but that isn't what I really want to do. I could take the input and then programatically create the data and then post it to the PayPal URL, but I'm not sure how to do that. These are just some of the things I have considered doing.
View 1 RepliesI am writting an application that displays 3 visable text boxes and 1 hidden text box and one hidden button.
My application sets focus to the hidden text box.
The input comes from a barcode scanning gun which gives the "enter" command after the scan is complete...this essentially clicks the hidden submit button which moves the text from the hidden text box to the currently active visable text box.
To start the application does some verification on what was scanned then gives the user feedback on what was scanned then enters it into SQL.
My problem comes with the last scan...the page does not actually post back to give the user the neccessary confirmation before commiting the info to SQL and resetting the form.
Is there a way to either do somethig after the page has been rendered or do an additional post back somehow before calling the commit and reset functions?
