I have a function that converts a .csv file to a datatable. One of the columns I am converting is is a field of names that have a comma in them i.e. "Doe, John" when converting the function treats this as 2 seperate fields because of the comma. I need the datatable to hold this as one field Doe, John in the datatable.

I have a panel inside an update panel. The panel has a scrollbar. When a control inside the panel is clicked, the scrollbar resets, scrolling the panel back to the top. Is there a simple way to preserve the scrolling position of a panel inside and update panel when a postback happens from inside that panel?
View 5 RepliesAt first time page load the TabContainer and TabPanel is shown where the default tab index is zero. This panel has some user controls and a "Go" button. The "Go" button loads a GridView is a separate panel. So far things ar good.
Now when I either sort or page throught the GridView, the TabContainer disappears. I read somewhere that the current tab index would be preserved during post back. So how can I preserve the index and make sure the TabContainer and the TabPanel is loaded at postback and still have the information originally entered by users in the controls? Could I use a "Session" variable?

This happens only on my local machine. On the remote server it works fine. The problem also happens before the Page_load method is called (I have tried to debug).This is definitely not a problem of my code; it must be a .Net problem. I have narrowed down the problem of a particular page to the data binding of a datagrid. If I comment it out, the page works (the datagrid contents are not displayed of course). I have found on msdn that one of their security fixes causes this problem to occur in .Net 2.0, but the fix is for Vista. I am running XP so there must be something similar to XP.

View 1 RepliesI have a form, mostly consisting DDL's. I constructed this form using a Master page with about 10 different pages attached. Each page consists of roughly 10 to 20 DDL's. My goal now is to navigate from one page to the next and back with out loosing the selected values in each of my DDL's on each page. I have thought about assigning each to a Session but that would really bog things down considering the amount of Data i would be storing. I would love to go the easiest route but my mission here is most efficient.

In My project i want to use the mvccontrib [URL] to auto generate grid by passing the DataTable to the Grid. Currently Grid does not support this. Grid takes IEnumerable(Of T) and auto generate columns. Is their any way i can achieve this by passing DataTable. Or How do i convert the DataTable to IEnumerable(Of T). My DataTable is completely Dynamic i don't know number of columns or names of the columns at design time. DataTable completely dynamic number of columns are not fixed it just any DataTable. In Short i want to convert Dynamic DataTable to IEnumerable(Of T). Or Is their any better way.
1) One way i tried is using .net 4.0 Dynamic, DynamicObject and ExpandoObject I created a dynamic class as shown here [URL]. I trid passing IEnumerable(Of SampleDynamicObject) but BuildColumns() method is not able to find out the proprieties dynamically added on to it.
2) I think Second way to modify the AutoGenerateColumns() method to work with DataTable, But it looks impossible as Grid Get initialize using IEnumerable(Of T) and all the call on grid for method is using IEnumerable(Of T). So it's come down to converting DataTable to IEnumerable(Of T) and my DataTable are dynamic i don't know their structure at design time So i can't write any specific class to create a object and convert DataTable to IEnumerable(Of T).

I have a user control that has some drop down lists. These DDLs are used by the user to filter their product search on my search page. A button is used to post the form and get the results of the product search. Those results are displayed on the results page, which also has the search filter user control on it. I'd like the results page to have the values of the DDLs be preserved from the search page. Example: user selected color of red and size of large on the search page. When the results page is displayed, I'd like the selected color to be red for the color DDL and the size to be large for the size DDL. How can I do this?
View 9 RepliesI have Web page that uses LinkButton control inside Template Fields of Gridview.I am trying to work on LinkButton Click event and trying to preserve the Value of LinkButton that user click, and based on that value, i want to refresh tha page data.I used CommandName and CommandArgument property of Linkbutton, but i can use that property only in GridView_RowCommand method by checking e.CommandName expression. But the problem with that Gridview_RowCommand event fire after all other page_load activity. So the value never used in the page_load event to refresh the data in all other control.

I have a very simple nav menu of 5 imagebuttons: home, bios, areas, resources, contact.As a user rolls OVER the imagebuttons, the imagebutton change to a black background. As a user rolls OFF the imagebutton, it reverts to the original image. If a user clicks on a imagebutton (ie contact), I programmatically set it to the rollover with black background. The goal is to: if a user clicks on an imagebutton, then continue to show that imagebutton in the rollover state so the user can tell what page they are on. I have all this working just fine.My problem is this: If the user then rolls OFF one of the selected imagebuttons for the page they are on, then the javascript overrides the code-behind and changes the image to the original image. The menu then no longer shows the page that the user is on.What do I need to do to keep the rollover state active if the button is clicked and then rolled over later? For example, a user clicks on Contact, then moves the mouse off of that button. I want the imagebutton for Contact to stay in the rollover state.aspx.cs:
