I put a panel control on my web form, but i'ts not showing up in the code behind when I do a me.Panel. It was for a while but I was trying to do something like me.panel.visible and it kept telling me when I ran the app that panel was not part of my form.

If i've the button outside an update panel (basically i'm using RadAjaxPanel by Telerik) it is working fine. But when the button is inside an ajax panel, even if i click OK for deleting the records the server side code is not called.

Can i add with Attributes.Add or with cssClass a class to the panel?

I was thinking about the performance when I use code to hide some control in aspx page using delimiters or in cs file. For e.g. If I have a panel and I want it to get shown following some condition, so I can achieve this by two ways
1: Using code in aspx file, something like this

<asp:Panel ...></asp:Panel>
<% } %>
2: In the code file, something like this
<asp:Panel ID="pnlMyPanel" Visible="false"></asp:Panel>
And in cs file
if(isAllowed)
pnlMyPanel.Visible=true;
In my view, first way should be good as it will not at all create any Panel in the page. Am I correct here?
I have a control on a page. In the control's pre-render event I'm executing some code that's taking about a minute to execute. This means the whole page is unresponsive until the control's pre-render event is finished executing.I tried putting the control inside an update panel, but it doesn't matter the rest of the page still won't render until the pre-render event of the control is finished executing. I've attached a very simple example of my code (The event that's slowing up the control's pre-render event is not Thread.Sleep(1000):

This was working with a CSS layout but I had to place all the content in a table and now it does not work. Is there another way to do it
I have a website using Telerik controls for ASP.NET. When an AJAX request starts, the Loading Panel (defined in the master page) will display, with a loading image, text, and faded white background color. It works totally fine in Firefox and Chrome, but the background image and text don't display in IE8. All that displays is the white background.LoadingPanel code: Loading ideas why IE8 isn't displaying the images? I've inspected the page source, and they're there in the CSS.

I have a webforms project in Visual Studio 2008. In the page load I have some code like:
Label1.Text = "Hello"
Compile, run, it shows up fine.
Then I change the code to Label1.Text = "Bla Bla"
Compile, run, the label still says "Hello."
I thought maybe it was just caching or something, so I compiled and deployed the project to my server. The label STILL says "Hello" on the server. That could not caching, could it? The page address in the browser while running locally is totally different than the page address when viewing in on my server.
Someone told me to hit Control F5 in the browser, and on BOTH the server, and on my development machine, the text changed to "Bla Bla."
This only seems to be happening in one project (and so far at least, on this one page.)
What is going on here? Why just this project? I would think any change in my code, when compiled, would show up immediately.
We have an asp.panel that by default is set to visible=false. When a checkbox is clicked the panel is set to visible=true. The checkbox is set to autopostback and viewstate=true as well as the panel's viewstate =true. This code has worked perfectly for several years and suddenly it has started throwing an error on the built in .net java function below. It doesn't do it in the IDE when you run it either. The bold line is where the exception is being thrown.

I have created a asp:TextBox. its disabled. but its values is changed via javascript. When i click a button to get the updated value in that textbox it always show me empty ("").In my Page_Load i am doing everything in if(!Page.IsPostBack) so there is no chance of updating TextBox value on postback in Page_Load.Where i could be wrong? how can i get updated value?

I have a datagrid view, in that I have a templete column ,inside that I have Image control and label control.
Based on the Data from one column in database, i have to show Label and Image control,in template column.
How can i do that?

In my web page, in the Page_Load, I populate my alerts dropdownlist with data from my database. This works fine. I load up the alert and then press the delete button on my web page and it correctly deletes my Alert. I close out the web form and then go back into it and the alert still shows up in my dropdownlist but it's not in the database.

I saw the SQLDataSource.CacheDuration member but I'm not sure how to use it. If I set this right after I populate my dropdownlist box, will my dropdownlist still be populated?
i m using ajax validatorCalloutextender with regular expression validator(for numeric values). It is working fine on a textbox but with same code on another textbox it is showing error msg this control is valid inspite of showing required error msg. The code is same for both textboxes.
