Web Forms :: Retrieve Full URL And Display Inside Of A Control On The Page Using Masterpages
Jan 27, 2011
I am going to change an image, based on the incoming URL. So lets say, I have an image control named "specialImg", and 5 images I want to load based on the incoming URL.
Using C#, how do I accomplish the following?
User clicks a link and the URL is categoryproduct1, and when the page loades, I want this "specialImg" control to show the product1 image (it would read in the incoming URL and based on the name, change the image). If the user then goes to categoryproduct2, when the page loads, I want the "specialImg" control to display product2 image.. and so on.
I set the image control to runat="server", I guess I need to find out how to reference it by C# on page load.
I have a user control with linkbuttons (used for paging) and a repeater inside an update panel. The paging works correctly, but is causing a full page postback every time I click through to the next page.
The update panel looks like this:
[code]....
So far, I have tried adding an async postback trigger for the user control, which does cause an async postback but does not update the rest of the text in the update panel. In otherwords, the async postback occurs and the next page shows up, but the original text in the repeater is there as well just below it.
I have also confirmed that I have IDS set on my linkbuttons, since that can trigger a full postback inside an update panel.
I have tried changing the update panel mode (Always, Conditional, ChildrenAsTriggers, etc.).
None of it makes a difference - the only thing that actually causes an async postback is to use the trigger, but then the rest of the content in the update panel is not updated, so I get duplicate content.
The LoginName control displays the Username. I would like to display the Full Name of the user logged in rather than the Username. Below is my code. I cannot seem to access the LoginName control in code behind. I am wondering if it because the control is in .
I have marquee control inside a Master page.I used timer control to refresh marquee for every 5 mins. And it is placed in update panel for implementing partial postback.
Now the problem is that, when ever timer_tick event raised it's postbacking the content pages as well.I need a solution to partial refresh of only master page.
How do I conditionally trigger a full page postback from a link button inside of an update panel?
I have a custom control that contains its own updatepanel with a link button nested inside of it. When the link button is pressed I want its event handler to have the option of either letting the control update as normal or doing a full postback on the page.
Here is the control hierarchy:
Page Custom Control UpdatePanel LinkButton
Event handler Pseudo code:
LinkButton Click Handler Begin If is a partial post back AND a full postback is needed Page.DoFullPostback End If End Handler
Note: I aways need the partial postback to happen. I was considering injecting a __DoPostback in the controls markup but this seems hacky to me.
I am trying since more than 5 days to retrieve and display an image in a web page, no success so far.1. I have a table named image, with three fields ImageID, Img_data, Img_contenttype .2. I am able to display the ImageID as a link in my page.3. On clicking the link i am going to my viewImage.aspx?img=ImageID .This far it works ok. ImageID is passing in the query string.4. In this page imageID is being captured from query string and stored in ImageIdview int variable. viewImage.aspx has an image tag to display the image as below.
In my default.aspx page I have a PlaceHolder control within an UpdatePanel. In this placeholder control I will dynamically load a web user control, which is just a form with a submit button. On this user control, I have the form within an update panel and I have the "Submit" button's Click Event added to the triggers.
When I submit the form, the UpdatePanel on the web user control nor the update panel on the default.aspx page are capturing the post back, thus causing a full post back which refreshes my page.
how to capture this post so its rendered in Ajax and not a full post back?
I'm using an UpdatePanel (with UpdateMode conditional) and in the ContentTemplate I've got a Login control. Even though the control is embedded in the UpdatePanel as soon as the Login-button is hit a full page postback is being done. I've read some posts on the subject indicating that these controls are incompatible - but these posts already date from 2 years ago. Does anybody have more recent information on the subject?
I have a misunderstanding with MSBuild. I want to build a web application (with a traditional .csproj project file) and get the "entire output" of the build in a new, clean output folder - including all the website files that are included in the project with <Content Include="....
The AspNetCompiler utility makes this easy for "web site" style projects - you specify the input folder and the output folder, and they can be entirely different.
So far I've only had success specifying the OutoutPath folder, i.e. moving the bin folder - but this only gives me the binaries and ignores aspx, image files, etc.
I am creating a web application using c#. I need to access the values available in a barcode scanner and display it in the web page. The user has a Barcode scanner, which contains the Student Id's. The Barcode scanner is connected to the user machine. Is it possible to access the scanner and access the student id available in the scanner and display it in the aspx page. After retrieving the values and displaying it in page, the students id's available in the scanner has to be deleted.
I have the following scenario. I have a page that hosts several user controls. The user controls are all surrounded by a single update panel. All user controls have a save button on them. When the save buttons are clicked the page updates the update panel as expected. Some of the user controls contain editable list views. Whenever an action is taken on these list views, the Update Panel is NOT refreshed, but the whole page posts back. How can I get these ListViews to also refresh the Update Panel? I cannot post the code because of NDA. There are no javascript errors on the page reported by either IE8 or Chrome.
In gridview I have two link button that is "VIEW" and "DOWNLOAD" if I click "view" that pdf file will display in an other page if I click download that file will be downloaded.. how can i do this..
I have created an application in asp.net 4.0 and entity framework4 . I have also implemented the routing feature introduced with this version of asp.net.I have page which displays a list of products and the paging is taken care of using datapager control. Now, when the user selects a particular product (using the checkbox provided besides it), I show the selected product's name on top. As the user goes on selected products the product_names are added on top. This functinality I want to achieve using javascript. When the user switches between different pages to select a product the already selected product names should be retained between different pages. I want to implement this whole fuctionality using javascript. My problem is how do I retrieve the page index from the datapager so that I can retain the selected values. Is there any other better way of doing it. I had already faced numerous problems in using javascript because of the routing functioanlity. But still I first want to see if there is a solution using javascript.
I'm trying to find a TextBox in the code-behind page, it's inside a nested master page and also then inside another control container (it's inside ctrlCheckoutShippingAddress also) .
