Web Forms :: How To Fire Server Side Event After Client Side Event Is Triggered
Sep 12, 2012I have a scenario where i have 4 asp buttons , on click of each button there are 4 labels inside 4 seperate divs where each displays seperate data.
Now if i click second button i need to display second label text inside 2nd div and hide all other divs.How can i achieve this ?
OnClientClick event of each button calls displayAlternate() which displays repective div and hides other.
displayAlternate('second'); return false; --> if i do this server side event is not fired ...
If I return true div second label is not getting displayed..
How can I achieve functionality where all divs expect 2nd is hidden and i get server side event also..

Jun 1, 2010I have a user control with a dozen radion buttons in it.Every pair of radio buttons execute a Sub on server side.All of the radio buttons have the autopostback set to true.There is a public Sub of the usercontrol that gets called only once by the page and loads the data setting the radio buttons to checked or not checked.The problem is, that once a radio button is set, it will execute it's server side code on every postback even if the postback is caused by another control on the usercontrol or even another control on the page. So if all the radiobutton pairs are set and a postback is caused, there will be six server side Sub executing! Casting the sender in each of those Subs gives back the radiobutton that is checked at that point, so it's if on every postback the event is fired for each checked radiobutton.

When I click on that button , it still postback to same page , does not postback to "page1.aspx" . I am trying to implement crosspage postback. C# - Executing Program On Server-side?
Jul 14, 2010I have an executable file that works fine by hand locally. It converts a file to another new file by some parameters. I'm using ASP.Net and that executable installed win2003 server sp2. I can use it from local but, I can't execute the program from a web browser using system.diagnosting.process. When I use that, I can see the process in task manager with user name "NETWORK SERVICE", and it won't dissappear without ending process by hand and won't work. I tried impersonation, try as a web service, edited local policies, apply all privilages, etc...

Custom Server Controls :: Databound Event Firing On Every Page Load In UserControl?
Feb 11, 2011I have a DetailsView control bound to an ObjectDataSource within a User Control (.ascx). It appears that the DetailsView.OnDataBound event is being fired on every page load or postback.
I do not see this behavior with a similiar DetailsView directly placed on an aspx page.
FadeIn / FadeOut Div Tag After Executing Some Server Side Code?

On click of "ValidateUser" button, I do check whether user is valid or not. Based on some condition I do need hide "AuthenticateUser" div tag and show "ForceToChangePassword" div tag. I really like the jQuery fadeIn/fadeOut effect. I can easily do that on client side. But how can I give that effect after executing server side code?
I tried to call javascript method from code behind that method has a fadeIn/fadeOut logic but it seems like that javaScript method is never been called.
Web Forms :: Client Side Script Returning Status OK Before Fully Rendering Page?
Feb 19, 2010I have a page that downloads a dataset and streams the output to an Excel file by modifying the response headers.
I want to write an AJAX call on the client side that can display a modaldialog while the file is being generated and dismiss the modaldialog when the file has been fully rendered.
I can turn the dalog on when the user clicks a link, but for some reason my pages return readystate 4 and status 200 prematurely. (These are the codes that say the page is done)
Because this is happening, either the modal dialog is dismissed immediately or I need the user to dismiss it.
Has anyone seen this before? Is this an issue with streaming a file instead of hitting a physical page?
Does anyone have a work-around, or will I need to have the user manually dismiss the dialog?
Possible To Call A Server-side Event On A Parent Page When A Child Page Closes

May 18, 2010I have some rendering logic for custom markup (a'la bbcode, but not bbcode). So that when I'm getting the stuff from DB I'm then calling MyRender.ToHTML(model.text)... Now what I do today is I just have a form below and I do a post and add the item and return the same view. My question is - how to do it with ajax? Should I create a control and return HTML a'la winforms? Is that sexy? How do you do something like that? Or should I drop it? Maybe duplicate the rendering logic with javascript?

Nov 15, 2010I have a asp.net panel that is initially hidden and is shown when a button is clicked. There is javascript inside that panel and it doesn't execute after the panel is set to be visible. But sometimes I am getting an error when myUsercontrol.RenderControl(hw) "error executing child request for chartimg.axd.". I am not getting this error all the time. Sometimes it generates the PDF but then there is missing af chart (Missing image).
