I'm new to c# and I seem to be having a problem with an error message. If my textbox is left empty my code will throw a format exception and display the message in a label. If I then add a number to the textbox it runs correctly but the error message remains.

We have option in validation summary to show errors in messagebox. But at the same time errors also showed in the page. Any way to hide this. Because of page space i think to use popup but i dont want to siplay in the summary also.

To return a partial view and a form through JSON. It works as it should, but as soon as I get modelstate errors my ValidationSummary does not show. The JSON only return the default form but it does not highlight the validation errors or show the validation summary.
Am I missing something?

When the model is validated by the controller, any of the subordinate addresses are properly validated and any errors are returned as modelstate errors. However, the custom attribute's error is never added to modelstate, even though it validates false. It seems as if this should work, the validation is called and I can step through it - it just never gets added to modelstate.
I thought I had this working, but right now I'm confused. When I try to cause an error by re-using an email, it gives me the success message, even though nothing is added.

In the application, there is an HTML page that references a .dll (dllMain) using an <object> tag.
dllMain references several other dlls (dll1, dll2, and dll3).
When the web page is loaded, it loads just fine and everything works.
However, there is a bit of a delay in the load time, using fiddler I discovered that it is trying to find dll1, ddl2, and dll3 and failing, resulting in 404 errors... by watching the web page load while watching fiddler, it is clear the delay is from the 404 errors originating from trying to find these embedded dlls.
Is there any way to make the application stop probing for these embedded dlls? Clearly it doesnt need to since the application is working even though these aren't being found?
In my login.aspx form I have 2 textboxes for user name and password, a login button.And two required field validator and a validation summery.
I am using a javascipt function in onkeypress event of the password textbox to invoke the click event of login button.
My problem is- When hit enter key from password textbox without entering password i need to show validation message 'enter password'.
When I m click on button then CSV file create successfully but textbox1 not show message why , help me.

I am having lblmessage in master page.
In the child page, i tried to show the message in that lblmessage in btn click event in child page.
The message is binding inside the label but is is not displayed.
I tried by put the label inside the update panel, it is not showing.
But when i put Postback control trigger for the btn click event, the message gets displayed.
But the page gets completely refreshed.
I want to show the message without refreshing the page.
I am using JqueryValidation for my aspx pages. how to display the no.of errors occurred in the page, as a message.
View 2 RepliesI am developing a web application in which I am suddenly facing an issue. I have a webpage which contains many controls, one of the control is JQuery color picker. Now, I am upgrading my system with telerik controls. As part of this process, I replaced textbox(txtcolor) with radcolorpicker with a different id(colorPicker). Suddenly, my code behind file is not throwing any errors like 'unable to find txtColor'. It is running successfully without build errors. But, when I open the page, system is throwing runtime exception(txtColor not found) which is correct.
I tried to change other controls with asp.net controls, still the problem persists. So, I dont think it is anything to do with telerik.

Some of the textboxes are binded to required field validators.there is a validation control on the page and ShowMessage box is True.If they dont complete some of the text boxes then the message box pops Up with the error message.It does not however include information errors like "User already exists" or Email address already existsfrom the create user wizard membership UserName and Password Textboxesis it possilbe to hook all of these up so I get one message box with all errors including membership ones?
View 3 RepliesBy default in login template, in case user key in the wrong user name or password, the literal message will show the default error message, "Your login attempt unsuccessful..."What i trying to do is, I have a function in my system to disapprove a member, after the member is disapproved, he/she will not allow to login anymore. When the user trying to login, the default literal msg will show out. Is there any way i can do it more specifically like if the user enter the wrong password only, the literal msg show: "Wrong password entered" insteaed of the default msg?
Same goes to the change password control, for any error msg it just show the long msg but does not tell user whats wrong with the entered valueim trying to do something like if the user enter the wrong password, the literal msg show the one i wan to show.

I am trying to handle the unhandled exceptions in my project.I tried with this following code in my web.config filebut it is not at all redirecting to an error page which i have created instead of that it is throwing an exception in my code itselef. How to print the error description over therein my custom error page.
