Dec 29, 2010I have a menu (linked to a sitemap) wrapped in to a panel surrounded by a round control extender. The menu has StaticMenuItemStyle, StaticHoverStyle and StaticSelectedStyle. The first 2 works like a charm but not the StaticSelectedStyle. On click of the menu item the screen is redirected to appropriate page, but the menu item cssclass is set back to StaticMenuItemStyle. The background of the menu items are images. I tried some of the solutions from other posts, but no use.

Mar 6, 2010I'm about another 5 hours down the road into trying to use another ASP.NET control that should be amazingly simple yet for whatever reason I can't seem to get to work.

I can't make it work. I've read forum posts that say it won't work unless I bind the menu controls to a sitemap. I've done that and it doesn't work.
I've gone so far as to copy the example code on [URL] and paste it verbatum into a new aspx page in brand new projects in both VS2005 and VS2010 beta and I STILL can't get it to work (after altering the NavigateUrl of one of the menu items to be the page that the code was sitting on...e.g.

If Microsoft's own example code won't even work I'm not sure I'm feeling very hopeful here. It seems entirely stupid to have to go create my own navigation menu when the Menu control does 98% of what I need it to do (except highlight when it's on the selected page).

Dec 6, 2010I simply am trying to add a color to the select item background within the select elm after a user makes a selection from the select elm. The result right now is that in firefox, the colors will change, but only during selection ... after the selection has been made the background for the individual selection is still white.
This code works fine in IE but so far my efforts have been thuarted in FireFox.

P.s I made an equivalent javascript method and made some attempts at it, but the result is still the same. The background color of the item is changed ... but only is visible when making a selection, NOT after the selection is made.

I have a script service function that uses this Car class as a return value, which works just fine. I then have another script service function that takes a Car object as a parameter. I would like to change the color of the car in Javascript, but I am finding it difficult to do so without adding another parameter that takes in the color as a string and is then translated at the server. Are there any ideas on how to set the Color property of the Car object in Javascript and maintain it through to the server?

(b) If it is blank, I wish the cells to display 0
This is the code I am using to achieve (a), but when it comes to blank, it returns error (I believe my code below failed to provide blank cases but I dunno how. So what should be the code to do (b) above ?

Problem is that when I hide certain fields that I do not want the user to update, they lose their values ie. the data is wiped out in the field unless I show them on the grid and make them writeable. Is there a property I need to set for the field to retain the value when the grid is updated or is this in the sql statement?
