Web Forms :: Twitterizer.Framework.dll Authorization?
Sep 13, 2010
I have use Twitterizer.Framework.dll for post entries to twitter automatically when the blog creating. But before 2 week it suddenly not work. i have post this to twitter forum. they have provide this answer.Twitter recently stopped supporting basic authentication over RSS, which could be causing the errors you're seeing in your RSS reader. We encourage you to contact the developers of your RSS reader about this change or to see if there are any updates that fix this.his is my code
string url=TinyUrl("http://theredzone.org/BlogDescription.aspx?EntryId=" + EntryId);
url = txtTitle.Text + " " + url;
Twitter t = new Twitter("user", "pwd");
t.Status.Update(url);
Is there any method to do this? currently twitter dont support that dll
I am using ASP.NET MVC 3 and am trying to do something that should be really straight forward...
My application uses Forms authentication and that is working perfectly for controllers/actions. For example if I decorate either a controller or an action with the attribute below only members of the administrators group can view them:
[Authorize(Roles="Administrators")]
However I have a folder under the default Scripts folder called Admin. I only want members of the Administrators group to be able to access scripts within this directory so I created a new web.config in the directory with the following inside:
[code]....
However no matter whether a user is a member of the Administrators group or not they receive a 302 Found message and are then redirected to the login page.
If I change the web.config to allow user="*" then it works. It also works if I add an allow users="Username" for a specific user I am testing with.
When a user attempts to directly visit the url admin.aspx, and they are not an admin, they are redirected to the login page. However, the user then attempts to visit ViewWeek.aspx, it indicates that they are still logged in. Why does this ASP.NET authorization boot the user to the login screen, yet keep the user logged in? I'd rather it just direct the user to the default URL specified in the forms tag.
I am working on sending twitter updates from my asp.net website. I have the authorization down but I am stuck when it gets to sending the tweet here is my code behind:
protected void btnAuth_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { // add these to web.config or your preferred location var consumerKey = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["consumerKey"]; var consumerSecret = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["consumerSecret"]; //If User is not valid user if (Request.QueryString["oauth_token"] == null) { //Step 1: Get Request Token OAuthTokenResponse RequestToken = OAuthUtility.GetRequestToken(consumerKey,consumerSecret); //Step 2: Redirect User to Requested Token Response.Redirect("http://twitter.com/oauth/authorize?oauth_token="+ RequestToken.Token); } else { //For Valid User string Oauth_Token = Request.QueryString["oauth_token"].ToString(); var accessToken = OAuthUtility.GetAccessToken(consumerKey, consumerSecret, Oauth_Token, txtPIN.Text.Trim()); lblMessage.Text = "<b>Hello " + accessToken.ScreenName + ", Welcome to my Twitter App<b>"; lblMessage.Text += "<br/> Token: " + accessToken.Token; lblMessage.Text += "<br/> TokenSecret: " + accessToken.TokenSecret; lblMessage.Text += "<br/> UserId: " + accessToken.UserId; lblMessage.Text += "<br/> VerificationString: " + accessToken.VerificationString; } } protected void btnTweet_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { // add these to web.config or your preferred location var consumerKey = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["consumerKey"]; var consumerSecret = ConfigurationManager.AppSettings["consumerSecret"]; OAuthTokens accessToken = new OAuthTokens(); accessToken.AccessToken = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"; accessToken.AccessTokenSecret = "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"; accessToken.ConsumerKey = consumerKey; accessToken.ConsumerSecret = consumerSecret; TwitterStatus TweetStatus = new TwitterStatus(); TweetStatus.Update(accessTokens, txtTweet.Text); }
I dont know how to get the AccessToken & AccessTokenSecret.
Our team has recently implemented a role permission based authorization so that we can have granular control. This is similar to what Rockford Lhotka suggests herehttp://www.lhotka.net/weblog/PermissionbasedAuthorizationVsRolebasedAuthorization.aspx I have also read about the Claims based authorization which to me looks very similar to what we have. Can some one put in simple terms what the advantages of claims based authorization are.
'm using Visual studio 2005 with C# on .NET framework 2.0.. I am implementing forms authentication in this project but the problem is when I'm on registration form ( outside login) and try to open any window on that form using java script (window. open) it redirects me to login page. How should i tackle this problem?
I'm using Forms authentication in ASP.NET MVC website and I store user account login name in AuthCookie like this: FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(account.Login, false); I want to ask if there is a possibility that user on client side will somehow manage to change his login name in AuthCookie and thus he will be for example impersonated as someone with higher privileges and authorized to do more actions than he is normally supposed to have. Also is it better to save in this cookie user account login name or user account ID number?

I am having some trouble when I use ASP .Net 4's URL Rewrite feature while Authorization rules configured.
Global.asax
[Code]....
{Root}Web.Config
[Code]....
{Root}RestrictedWeb.config
[Code]....
The problem I am facing is: When I try to visit [URL]- because of my dashboard rule in Global.asax, instead of being redirected to [URL] I am actually getting the content of [URL] when I try to visit [URL] I do get redirected to [URL] which is a good sign.
I've been through the sample application in Steven Sanderson's "Pro ASP.NET MVC2 Framework". I've learned a lot and am now trying my hand at some of the concepts.So, I'm trying to make the Forms Authentication and Authorization work using Ninject DI. I believe I have the concepts correct (maybe) however, I'm having troubles with creating the correct interface for the FormsAuthentication ASP.NET class. Since the code is in ASP.NET and not MVC I do not have access to the class in order to build the interface.I want to use the built in Forms classes to take advantage of the authorization filters, etc.So, my question is this:1. Are there any examples out there that encapsulate Forms Authentication/Authorization?2. Is this a fools errand?. Are there better solutions than the built-in Forms solutions that still offer the authorization filters, etc?
I host a website that has recently been upgraded from .NET Framework 2.0 to .NET Framework 4.0. Within the website, I have an instance of BlogEngine which still requires .NET Framework 2.0. Each website is in it's own application pool. My issue is that when I browse to the blog portion of my website, I receive a 500.19 error with the following information...
The configuration section 'system.web.extensions' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration The web.conf file that is listed in the error message is the config file that belongs to my root website which is running .NET Framework 4.0. How do I get the two websites to run together in the same website using different versions of the .NET Framework?
i am developing the web application in Asp.net i hav many .aspx pages in the project some of belongs to Admin and some some of to Customer so how can i divide that and how to access admin pages to admin login and customer pages to customer login.
I have this cenario:One server (machine) that have framework 3.5. And one site (website) developed for framework 3.5.This site can not be modified (rebuild in other FW version, or others changes).
I'll developer a new webapplication (WAP) in framework 4.0 (using microsoft visual web developer 2010).
As I know, the new webaplication work in the server, if I install framework 4.0 in the server.
My question is: Can I install the framework 4.0 on the machine that already have framework 3.5. And continue have sites working with other frameworks version?Or, should I develop my new webapplication in framawork 3.5 ?If I can install the framework 4.0, do I need make some specify configuration during the installation?
We are developping with .net framework 2.0 on our dev station and we deploy on web server and client desktop a 3 tiers smart client app. what is the impact of ugrading to .net framework 2.0 sp2 on our web servers WITHOUT upgrading on dev station and compilation servers?
I have an old Web application which is using net framework 2.0(build with vs2005), now i need to move the old Web application to production server which has .net framwork 3.5 installed. Do I need recompile the web application with vs2008 or i can just go head move the the Web application without recompiling, it will automatically work?
I've an Admin area and I want only Admins to enter the area. I considered adding the Authorized attribute to every controller in the Admin area. Isn't there an elegant solution or is this feature not there in the framework itself?
EDIT:
I should to have mentioned this before. I'm using a custom AuthorizedAttribute derived from AuthorizeAttribute.
was wondering how do I make it so when a user goes to a page its only displayed if he is logged in and secure, but if he is not logged in he is redirected to the login page?
Iam using forms authentication in asp.net Application,i want to make pages accessible depending upon roles defined in database. for eg there are three rolesdefined in database salary admin, manager, Clerk. i want a page salary.aspx can be accessed only by salary admin and not any other roles.
I have a problem using windows authentication and the authorization-tag in web.config for my asp.net application. When I host the application in IIS (both in IIS 6 and IIS 7) the authorization-tag is ignored. When I run the application in asp.net development server that comes with visual studio 2010, it works perfect.
