I have a HTML table in a webpage of an ASP.NET website.
I want this table to stay in the screen when I scroll the page.in fact it's like a toolbox for me and I should always have easy access to it.how should I do that?
I've a dataentry screen where I've to give the users aprovision to enter date and for doing that I've used a DatePicker control. The problem is when I'm clicking on the next/prev button to change the month of the calender, the calender is not staying on the screen. So in order to select other month the user has to re click on the button. find below the stepwise description of the problem I'm facing.
1. I click on the calender icon and the calender popps up.
2. Now user tries to navigate months (i.e June to July or June to May) using Next/Prev button of the Calender Control.
3. When Navigating from current month to next/prev month I want the calender to be shown on the screen but actually on click of the Next/Prev button one postback is happening hence I'm loosing the calender from the screen as the calender is loaded again.
4. I'm getting the selected date using onselectedChange event handler.
5. The users will have to click the button again if he wants to navigate to another month.
Is there any way to keep the calender on the screen during the month got changed.
Although there are a number of floating menu tuts out there, I can't seem to find one that will simply let a div tag stay in one position with relation to the screen size. I have a div tag in the middle right of my page that must basically stay there even if the user scroll down.

I'm building a html table dynamically in an ASP.NET code behind file using C#. I basically loop through a set of data which is an unknown number of records and split a string containing all the values to make the required number of tds. I display the html by assigning it to an asp:Literal control. However I can't get the table to fit the screen - the browser is adding a horizontal scroll bar and the full table is well off the screen. I tried in IE 8 and FF 3.6.13. Most things I've read online about it say to set the width to 100%. I'm doing this but it's having no effect.

I have content on the screen the sometimes requires horizontal scroll.
I would like to keep the menu the width of the visable screen and centered while scrolling. AKA. the menu would stay in the same position on the screen even when the user scrolls.
EDIT: I'm relaly looking for simple. Even something that would just keep the menu items aligned left would work for me. So the menu bar can go all the way accross, but the items in it would align left, so the right most part fo the menu bar would be empty on longer screens...

View 1 RepliesI have upgraded web application from VS.2008 to vs 2010. I was using previously ReportViewer 2008 control in a page and replaced with 2010 ReportViewer Control.
I have installed the ReportViewer Redistributable also in my local pc as well as in the server. Also as per the new requirement I have placed the Scriptmanager in the web page where the reportviewer control located.
While running the page, the reportviewer run the report and is not showing the data on the screen. It shows the blank screen. But If I export the data to execl or world it is showing the data. Also the page numbers in the reportviewer showing the total pages available in the navigation bar. I am sure the report is running and bringing the data to the screen but not showing it.
I have one master page that is used to gather information from a user. It contains asp.net labels and textboxes within a table. For example, the master page contains fields for Name , Phone, Address, etc.
There are content pages that are created to add to the information that needs to be gathered. For example, the content page, Loan Application, could ask for Loan Amount, LTV, etc.
In addition to this, certain content page forms do not need to show a particular master page field. For example, the content page may not need to ask for Phone.
The table rows are stored as public properties in the master page so I can hide them in the content page code behind.

The functionality works perfect, but I don't like how the space is reserved on the page. You can tell that a row was removed. I've tried style="border-collapse:collapse" on both the <table> and <tr> elements. I've also tried to set the row height as a public property and alter that.

Due to which it adds a horizontal scrollbar to my controls. Now i have a checkox inside this with autopostback property enabled due to which whenever i checked it, my sroll position changes which makes a difficult task for user to enter data. Is there any way to maintain the horizontal-position of scrollbar om autopostback? although i have tried maintainscrollposition=true in page tag but doesnot work for horizontal scroll position

I need to check information the user has entered on a page against what I have in my database to see if he is entering duplicate data. It is up to him if he wants to proceed or not. I just need to alert him.
The problem is I don't own the button that he clicks so I can't hook up a javascript confirm to the button click. I am running within vendor code. I have an "override PageLoad()" procedure where I can test what page they're currently on. If they are on page "EditForm.aspx" and would normally navigate to "UserFinish.aspx" without any custom code of mine "interfering", I want to test what they've entered on EditForm.aspx and present them with a popup if they've entered duplicate info, and if they click OK button then proceed to UserFinish but if they click Cancel then stay on EditForm.

I have created my first MVC application. I am using forms authenticataion. I have created a custom action filter MyAppAuthorizationFilter which inherits from AuthorizeFilter. Inside this filter I'm authenticating the user credentials by checking them against a database table (by overriding OnAuthorize method). If the user is not authenticated, I am redirecting the users to a login page (which is view of LoginController). I am using this filter agaginst my main controller so that all actions in this filter will execute only if the user is authenticated.
I do not have any problem when I use the asp.net development server (shipped with Visual Studio). But when I deploy the app to our IIS7 server, I can see the login screen when I access the default url, but after entering the credentials (both correct and incorrect) and posting back the Login page, it stays on the Login page (clears the pwd, but not the username). Its never getting redirected to the home screen or invalid login screen.
IIS 7 server has .net framework 3.5SP1, but no MVC. So I deployed the System.Web.Mvc dll in the bin folder.

I am using a gridview as a dropdown extender for a textbox which works nice. I want to select a row in the gridview and fill in some textboxes with data from that row. I know how to do the Attributes.Add for cells in the RowDatabound event. But I have always passed the cell data to another page as parameters. How can I stay on the same page and fill in the textboxes?
Do I setup a javascript and pass the parameters to it and have it fill in the textboxes? I have other texboxes that the user has entered and need to keep that data there.
I will show a message via label, make label visible.
once the label is visible is it possible to stay on teh page for 5 seconds and then redirect via response.redirect to another page.

View 18 RepliesI have an asp.net page "demo.aspx", that has a normal link called "Demo Link" which uses jQuery Thick box. The page that is wrapped inside the Thickbox is "target.aspx", that has a button "Demo Button" and a label.
If I click on the Demo Link, it show the "target.aspx" wrapped inside the Thickbox nicely. However, If I click on the "Demo Button", Thickbox is disappeared, "target.aspx" is not wrapped in Thickbox anymore, it is displayed like a normal asp.net page.

View 2 RepliesI have a project that is based on a Master Page. I also have user controls that I use as well. Any page that requires scrolling in Design Mode will not scroll. The scroll bar is disabled. I have to switch to Source Mode and then add the text that I need or find the controls that need modified or updated. I have user controls that require scrolling as well but they work just fine. Only the pages tied to the master page. This is very annoying and only happens on certain projects.
