I have a requirement to position a div on the bottom of the last page when printing. Consider I have a page set up as follows.
[div id=Header]
[/div]
[div id=Lines]
x Number of lines that could potentially span 1 or more pages
[/div]
[div id=Footer style="position: absolute; bottom: 20px; left: 4px; right: 4px;"]
[/div]
No this code is fine if there are a few lines on the page, but if there are more than just a few the footer then overlaps some of the lines. Is it possible in CSS to fix the footer to the bottom of the page, but to attach to the bottom of the second page if the lines fill the first page. I think its the position absolute that is causing the problem. Has anyone else done this that has an alternative?

I am using the below code where I put this tag on a .aspx page:
"<a name="tips"></a>"
Now if I from another page run the code in the hyperlink to navigate to this page2 where I have the above tag. The page will scroll down to this tag automatically where this tag will be at the TOP of the screen.
My question now is if it is instead possible to scroll to the position where you have this tag at the BOTTOM of the screen instead ?

I am using a gridview as a dropdown extender for a textbox which works nice. I want to select a row in the gridview and fill in some textboxes with data from that row. I know how to do the Attributes.Add for cells in the RowDatabound event. But I have always passed the cell data to another page as parameters. How can I stay on the same page and fill in the textboxes?
Do I setup a javascript and pass the parameters to it and have it fill in the textboxes? I have other texboxes that the user has entered and need to keep that data there.

I've a dataentry screen where I've to give the users aprovision to enter date and for doing that I've used a DatePicker control. The problem is when I'm clicking on the next/prev button to change the month of the calender, the calender is not staying on the screen. So in order to select other month the user has to re click on the button. find below the stepwise description of the problem I'm facing.
1. I click on the calender icon and the calender popps up.
2. Now user tries to navigate months (i.e June to July or June to May) using Next/Prev button of the Calender Control.
3. When Navigating from current month to next/prev month I want the calender to be shown on the screen but actually on click of the Next/Prev button one postback is happening hence I'm loosing the calender from the screen as the calender is loaded again.
4. I'm getting the selected date using onselectedChange event handler.
5. The users will have to click the button again if he wants to navigate to another month.
Is there any way to keep the calender on the screen during the month got changed.

Although there are a number of floating menu tuts out there, I can't seem to find one that will simply let a div tag stay in one position with relation to the screen size. I have a div tag in the middle right of my page that must basically stay there even if the user scroll down.

I have a Gridview which is inside a Updatepanel which is updated through a Timer Control every 5 seconds.
So every 5 seconds I get new data in the rows. I am facing an issue in which I want to display the whole mult-line content of my Textbox(es). It displays fine but the modal window disappears after the UpdatePanel is updated.
How do I display this pop-up modal window and make it stay while the UpdatePanel continues to update the rows in the background?
Here is part of my code:

I want to display a panel (or div) on a page. When the panel is displayed, I want the unused space to become a slightly darker opaque gray. Think of what happens when you browse pages at Amazon. I don't want to do anything nearly that complex. I am just looking for an article to read on how to display a small section I want the user to focus on as well as disable the unused space "behind" the section. I just don't know the terminology to express this. I'd prefer to do this all server-side without Javascript. But, if Javascript is the only way to do it, I can work with that.

I'm using the ASP.NET 4.0 ASP.NET application. It comes wired up for menu, login, roles, etc. This question is about placing a user control (which just contains a label with Copyright info, always at the bottom of the page. It found the Site.css entry to make the border it puts around the content always the same size - so it's consistent on every page, but I've not found how to make the user control stick to the bottom of the page. Right now I use the "footer" class which auto centers the content in the user control, but nothing to make it appear at the bottom of the page, without putting a bunch of <br> tags (a different number of them for each page, to keep the user control at the bottom. I've currently putting the user control inside <div class="footer"> which picks up the centering from the Site.css.

I'm working on a ASP.Net web page with two tables positioned in the center of the page with one on top of the other. The table on top contains input fields that are dynamically generated by the code-behind, so the number of input fields varies. The table on the bottom contains content that is constant and doesn't change. The layout of the page is fixed and must remain so. My question is, how do I make the bottom table dynamically adjust vertically so that it doesn't overlap with the fields from the top table. The general HTML layout of the page is something like the following:
[code]...
I'm thinking I could wrap the bottom table in a div, but I'm not sure what specific styling will achieve the desired effect. I basically want to maintain the fixed positioning horizontally, but have the vertical alignment adjust to prevent overlap with the top.
UPDATE:
Here is a screen cap that shows the two tables overlapping. The buttons you see are in the bottom table, the fields are supposed to be on the top, all elements are positioned absolutely in the center of the browser screen.
UPDATE 2:
I updated the HTML sample above with the styles that are currently in use.

I am developing an application in which I have a page and at the bottom of the page there is an Iframe and inside of it is a Facebook login button and a asp.net login control.
When I scroll to the bottom of the page where the iframe is and then I put my mouse cursor in the username textbox of the loging control and having loged in before; when I type the first letter of my username under the text box apperas a kind of 'autosuggest' box with my user name in it...
That 'autosuggest' type of box (which is standard of a textbox) which should show right under the text box actually shows up 6 inches below it because I scrolled the page. In fact once it is displayed, that 'autosuggest' box stays fix in its position and I can scroll the page up and down with my mouse roller and the text box goes up and down with the page but the 'autosuggest' box stays in its place without moving...
Also the facebook login button when clicked generates a login dialog box inside a browser popup. But when I have it inside he iframe and the page is scrolled to the bottom when the iframe and the facebook login button are then the popup actually apears off screen, way, way down and low on my computer screen so much so that I cant even see it. I know it is there because of the taskbar..

I have a user control is shown through a SimpleModal popup (JQuery), this user control gets some data from database and displays them (the details of a record).
The problem is that this user control makes a round-trip to gets the data every PostBack for the parent page even it's hidden.
I wonder if I could make it gets its data only if the popup is appeared.
I tried to put it inside a Panel with false for Visible property and change it to true when I open the popup, but it stil call Page_Load which gets the data from database!
