Dec 24, 2010

I am trying to draw a horizontal line and want to repeat an image horizontally so that it is 380px long. How do I do that? How do I also do it for a vertical line?

Forms Data Controls :: Gridview To Repeat Vertically?

Aug 2, 2010

I'm working with a databound gridview that has two columns: a checkbox and zip code. It works fine but upon rendering, it is a very long and skinny two columns which requires the user to scroll down a lot in their browser. I'd like it to be more user friendly and not require so much scrolling. tried to repeat it vertically by adding additional checkbox and databound column but just ended up with duplicate data, not continuing data from the bottom of databound column 1 to the top of databound column 2.Is there any way to repeat the columns vertically and have the data continue?

Web Forms :: Menu Renders Vertically Briefly Then Horizontally

Jul 20, 2010

The menu control when used on the newly released VS2010 with ASP.Net version 4.0 renders vertically briefly, then renders horizontally. This causes a 1/2 second annoying flash of the menu in vertical form before it disappears and renders horizontally as intended. If you choose to render the menu as a table this problem doesn't happen, but if you choose to render the menu as a list (using <ul><li>) then if happens every time, but is hidden on development systems where response is quick enough such that the rendering vertically is not visible to the naked eye. How can I cause the rendering to be horizontal (without the brief vertical rendering)?

Forms Data Controls :: Labels On The X-axis To Display Vertically Rather Than Horizontally?

Sep 9, 2010

I have a fairly basic line graph which is bound to a SQLDataSource control. The graph displays perfectly, but I want the labels on the X-axis to display vertically rather than horizontally.

I have used the following code to try and do this but it is having no effect:

<AxisX Title="Patient Safety Submissions" IsLabelAutoFit="True">
<LabelStyle Angle="90" interval="1" />
</AxisX>

C# - Setting Tabindex In Dynamic Table Vertically Then Horizontally

May 7, 2010

I have a page that is currently generating dynamically created textboxes in a table format. The users are requesting that the tab order be changed from horizontal-vertical to vertical-horizontal. I know that you can use the tabindex attribute to control the tab ordering, but I can't for the life of me figure out the right way to get the sequential number properly for the textboxes. I guess this is more of a math question than anything else!

FYI, the textboxes are made while looping two different collections. First collection looped to make the rows, for each row, second collection (which is a property of the first collection objects) is looped to create the columns.

ExpressionBuilder Syntax - Output AppSetting Within Image Tag?

Jan 27, 2010

I would like to use ASP.NET's ExpressionBuilder syntax to dynamically retrieve domain of static content from an AppSetting.

I am using the following syntax, which does not work:

<img src="<%$Appsettings:STATIC_CONTENT_DOMAIN %>/img/logo.jpg" alt="logo" width="176" height="159" />
FYI, the desired HTML output is:
<img src="http://static.myserver.com/img/logo.jpg" alt="logo" width="176" height="159" />

Please note, I cannot use <%= %> syntax because my ASPX page needs to be CompilationMode="never". (The reason I am using ExpressionBuilder syntax is that it works in no-compile pages)

Why Can't Use C# Syntax In Inherits Attribute For A Closed Generic But CLR Syntax Is Fine

Jan 15, 2011

The following CLR syntax works fine in my aspx page:

<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="Website.MyBasePage`1[HomePageViewModel]" %>

But this C# syntax does not:

<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="Website.MyBasePage<HomePageViewModel>" %>

Note, I am not using ASP.NET MVC, but this works fine if using System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<> from ASP.NET MVC.
My MyBasePage looks like this:

public class MyBasePage<TModel> : Page where TModel : class {
public TModel Model
{
get { return (TModel)HttpContext.Current.Items["model"]; }
}
}

Forms Data Controls :: Repeat GridView Header In Footer?

Feb 28, 2010

I have a GridView with column headers that include text and images. I would like to have the header essentially duplicated at the bottom of the GridView. how to accomplish this? I have found some internet resources that have explained how to use the GridView PreRender event to add an extra footer row but I'm trying to find a simple way to populate that row with the same text and images that appear in the header row. I am not using header templates. I am using the footer row of the GridView as the "insert" row.

MVC :: 3 RC2 - Convert ASPX Syntax To Razor Syntax For Asp:Hyperlink?

Dec 15, 2010

For reporting we used report RDLCs and displayed using an ASPX form. We implemented using the route as shown below. This resulted in forcing us to use the page route below and also to use the hyperlink instead of the normal Action Link. The question is how do we convert the asp:hyperlink ASPX syntax to Razor syntax.

//Custom route for reports routes.MapPageRoute( "ReportRoute", // Route name "Reports/{reportname}", // URL "~/Reports/{reportname}.aspx" // File );
<li><asp:HyperLink ID="hypReport" runat="server" NavigateUrl="<%&#36;RouteUrl:routename=ReportRoute,reportname=StaffRpt%>">Staff Report</asp:HyperLink></li>
