sbValid.Append("this.value = 'Please wait...';");
sbValid.Append("this.disabled = true;");
sbValid.Append("document.all.btnSubmit.disabled = true;");
//GetPostBackEventReference obtains a reference to a client-side script function that causes the server to post back to the page.
sbValid.Append(this.Page.GetPostBackEventReference(this.btncod));
sbValid.Append(";");
this.btncod.Attributes.Add("onclick", sbValid.ToString());

I have a requirement of automatically disabling a Button (Submit Button) after certain period of time, say 5 mins. How can we achieve this. I use C# and Framework 2.
I am using making application asp.net 2.0. In my page there is Data List which is having two buttons. When user click on the button it is doing some process and taking some time. Due to that user some time click twice and it will make problem in application. So to stop that I wanted to show progress bar until button click process done.
I have four Imagebuttons that I want to disable depending on the Role the user belongs too. I know how do do this in a gridview or detailsview but for some reason it isn't working on just a plain form. So when a User who is not in the "Admin" role logs onto the page he either doesn't see the button or the hyperlink has been disabled thus not allowing him to proceed any further.
I have a gridview on my page. I have a checkbox in each row of this gridview. For each checkbox in the gridview, I'd like to update my table accordingly, but I don't want them to have to hit a submit button every time they check the checkbox. I want them to check all the boxes they need to and at the end, they should hit one submit button.
In my project I have the requirement as follows.sending a mail to registered users with sign in link details.After a certain period of time elapses, the signin link should not work when user clicks on it.
I have the next problem: I need to process only 1 request at a time from each user. Lets assume that server identifies each user be UserID, sent in query string.cHow can make the server work the way like FIFO (do not start processing next request until the previous is fully processed)? Should I use the named mutexes inside HTTP handler and assign the name to mutex by UserID?
We need assistance with a portion of a major web application project scheduled to begin user testing within 10 days. The troublesome part of the code calls an external application when a button is clicked in Web page. When run from a command prompt or bat file, the external application, App.exe, runs perfectly producing the desired result. We created a test page and a small console application, Con.exe, to test the button code with a known quantity. The test application runs perfectly when the button in the Web page is clicked. However when we change the code to run App.exe instead of Con.exe, the App.exe code will not execute. We even tried creating a bat file to execute App.exe. Like the exe, the bat file executes from the command prompt or when double-clicked,but fails to run when called as a process from the button click event. Can anyone assist us? Here is the C# code: (.Net 3.5 sp1)
using System; using System.Collections; using System.Configuration; using System.Data; using System.Linq; using System.Web; using System.Web.Security; using System.Web.UI; using System.Web.UI.HtmlControls; using System.Web.UI.WebControls; using System.Web.UI.WebControls.WebParts; using System.Xml.Linq; using System.Diagnostics; namespace WebButtonTest public partial class _Default : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { protected void Timer1_Tick(object sender, EventArgs e) { int checkNumber = 0; if (Session["checkNumber"] != null).......
I want to be able to run an ASP.NET application when a file is upload via FTP. I understand how to use the filewatcher class to monitor the directory but I don't know where to put the code so it is always running.
Files will be uploaded once per month for each group of users of the system and the next time the user logs on after the upload I would like the application to reflect the new data. I don't want to check for a new upload when each user logs on because the processing could take a log time.
The uploads are automatic from multiple other computer systems and not done by any user.
The Application is hosted (by GoDaddy) so I don't have full control of the server.
Is there any way to have a process running all the time in the background and if so how? The application is written in VB.net.
My web application currently requires users to upload files, after which I take it for "further processing". This processing is VERY time consuming and can take a while before the control gets back to the user. I would like to run this in the background and not have the user wait until this completes.
I know this question has been asked in this very forum before but I'm not able to understand or I'm not able to proceed in the right direction. My understanding is there are a few ways I can go about this
a) create a BackgroundWorker process in my Global.asax file that will spawn a process and take care of the activity.
b) create a web service that will do the processing for me .. (how?)
The whole thing is in a form, and it doesnt postback when this button is clicked. Im no good with javascript, but i got a feeling thats not the problem.
I have worked on many localized sites in the past, using mainy some standard patterns and techniques involving Global/Local RESX files as well as session to maintain currently selected language.
However, it is quite difficult to maintain from a translator point of view, we used a small tool that converts RESX to Excel and then the localized Excel back to RESX, but for some reason this technique doesnt work properly anymore...
better and more reliable tools (paid or free) that can be used to localize RESX and provide translation team a better/easier way to localize content?
In one of my Web Page, there is one Modal Pop up, in which I am using Gridview Edit, Update, CancelEdit, Delete functionality.Main functionality is : If while deleting any of the Gridview Row, if only 1 row remains in Gridview (that row can be any row), then that row should not get deleted.Rest of Edit, Update, CancelEdit functionally is working fine.
problem is: When any last row is left in Gridview, its Delete button is disables that time (as per requirement and functionality). But when user clicks on Gridview "Edit" button, update section opens, and at that time "Delete" button gets Enabled, so that time user can delete the last row of Gridview which should not be done.I had fixed this problem for "Cancel" and "Update" button of Gridview using below line:
Response.Redirect(Request.Url.AbsoluteUri); but unable to fix it for "Edit" button of Gridview. If Last row is left in Gridview , and user clicks on Gridview "Edit" button of that row, then at that time "Delete" button should not get "enabled" it should remain "disabled"
This is a really odd situation, so hopefully I can explain it well enough.
I am deploying an ASP.NET 4 webforms application to a Windows Server 2003 SP2 server running IIS6.
Here's the problem -- when the application pool recycles its worker process (w3wp.exe), about 80% of the time, I will get an ReflectionTypeLoadException error trying to access any page in the app that contains an EntityDataSoure every time I try to view it.
However (this is the interesting part) -- the other 20%, it works just fine. I've actually resorted to turning off recycling the worker process entirely for this application pool and just add/remove whitespace from web.config forcing the site to recompile until I get a "good" w3wp.exe.
If this isn't clear, what I'm saying is: the actual worker process doesn't work at all for pages containing an EntityDataSource for about 4/5 times it starts, but still manages to serve all other pages just fine. Once you get a worker process that manages to serve a page with an EntityDataSource, it works every time until that process gets recycled.
My question is, how can I debug this? It works fine on my dev machine, it works fine on the server as long as you get a good process running, but iisreset or a server restart or anything that kills the worker process is almost guaranteed to cause the site to not come back up and throw this ReflectionTypeLoadException.
My customer has a website that is unsuitable for children. Anyone under 18 is not allowed ont he site. No, it's not a porn site, it's prison related. A certain page requires the user to enter their birthdate. If they are under 18, they're redirected to another site.
He has another site written for kids who have been impacted by crime. He wants the kids redirected here, to a page that explains why they were redirected. He asked me to disable the back button at this point to keep the kids from easily going back to the original site.
I've read all the reasons why you shouldn't desable the back button, but frankly, I think this would an appropriate place to do it. I also know you really can't disable it, but I've found a number of work arounds - none of which I've gotten to work.
Is there a work around that will work?
I've thought of setting a session variable or a hidden field or an invisible label on the page that redirects the kids just before the redirect and checking the value at page load, but the code to do the checking doesn't get run unless the user hits the back button then refreshes the page. Is there a way to get code to run as soon as the back button is pressed?
I have this below piece of code which fires on second time but not first time for me. I am using it as a login button checking for Username n password validations.
I have a button whose sole purpose is to set div.visible = true
There is a calendar control on my page and I need the selected date to remain selected after I hit this button. Right now if I hit the button it refreshes the whole page and sets the calendar's selected day back to date.
