I am created dynamic Usercontrol in the placeholder, it works fine(top to bottom) but i need to add controls in reverse order mean(bottom to top). I don know how to handle this one. how to display dynamic control in Bottom to top?
i have stored in the database as location India,Tamilnadu,Chennai,Annanagar while i bind in the grid view it ll be displaying as 'India,Tamilnadu,Chennai,Annanagar' this format.
but i need to be displayed as 'Annanagar,Chennai,Tamilnadu,India' in this format. how to perform this reverse order in query or in c#
note: this is stored under one column as 'India,Tamilnadu,Chennai,Annanagar' with comma separated.
My webGrid is working perfectly fine. However, I would like the default sort order to be in the opposite direction. If it were SQL, I'd be adding a DESC somewhere. Here's my working line of code:
[Code]....
It correctly sorts on the UWDate column, but I would like it to sort the opposite sort order. Of course, once it is displayed, you can click on the title and it will resort at that time.
I m getting Problem in Tab Index Setting of Dynamic Created Controls. There are 6 Drop down dynamic created and also Two user controls which contains text boxes. There are also Static Controls on a Page. How i set tab index for all controls. I have try to give from code behind using TabIndex property But it's not working and Tab order get destory.
is it possible to have a dynamic order in a stored procedure? I have a report that I am generating, I want the report headers to be clickable...so when a user clicks, that column is ordered ASC, and when the user clicks again, it is ordered DESC. I tried something like this, but it won't let me use ASC or DESC...
What i need is i need to bind last 10 Order in Gridview/details view with paging, and the same order detail also fetch from database and shown in another gridview.. if user click any oderNo in first Gridview/DetailView then i need to show Respective order detail in anther gridview..
without postback coz we already fetch 10 order with orderdetails from the database..and if user click next 10 orderNo using paging then again we need to load 10 orderNo with respective orderdeatils from database like this going on....as well as let me know how to take print of particular oder and order detail....?
Though it is usually not a big deal to edit the source code to accomplish this, I am just curious if there is an easier way to reverse the conversion of a column to a TemplateField. The covnersion can be done by a simple click. Is there a similar click to reverse it?
I have built a "portal" that displays "widgets" (server side usercontrols). The page contains two columns, each containing an updatepanel. Each widget contains an updatepanel and multiview with the default view showing a "loading" message and the second view contains the actual content.
When a user logs in, I query the database to get a list of widgets the user has access to, along with their column and order number. During page init, I add all of the widgets to the page's columns in the order indicated. Once the page loads, a timer on each widget gets fired and the widget's multiview switches from the "loading" view to the content view and sets the content's visibility to true. This forces the content to load.
Setting up the load this way makes the page load appear faster because it doesn't process any of the widget data until after the initial page load. This all works fine but I have an issue with the order in which the widgets get loaded.
Currently, the page loads and the widgets will start loading from the top of the left column down to the bottom, then it will start loading the top of the right column. The page could potentially have many widgets so I end up staring at a bunch of loading messages on the right side while I wait for the full left column to load. I would really like to be able to load top down across both columns instead of the whole left column and then the right column. For example, load the first widget in the left column, then the first in the right, and so on. This way, the user would have something to look at the top instead of staring at a bunch of loading messages and having to scroll down the page while it loads.
I have a simple list view that displays some text and a picture. The text is stored in the database and new text is inserted into the database through the list view. The list view displays all of the data with the oldest, or first, line of the database first. I want to reverse that by displaying the last line, or newest entry first. The site is live, and I do not know how to change the database remotely. Can I put some code on the page or code behind that will accomplish this? What is it called and where do I look?
well i have a main page in which i have a grid with templete (textbox "maintxt"and a button)and a pop up in which i have a textbox"popuptxt" i want when ever i click the button of every row i can see the maintxt text in popuptxt i can edit it in popup and then by closing popup the text of maintxt update
I have 5 hard corded texboxes in a page in a sequence with sequence Number . Now i want to add re-order /re-arraning functionaly .. but i can't use ajax reorder list because i have 5 hard corded texbox. how can i maintain the order in Insert/Update cases. And also suggest me control that i can use, another than ajax re-order list. coz i not using any list items i have hard corded items on the page.
The AjaxToolkit has a ReorderList. I'm searching for a jQuery solution that does the same and found this page. I would like to change the order of divs (vertically) and upload the new order to the database (ajax).
From my testing, it appears that the order of parameters for the UpdateParameters must match both the order of the bound fields on the form (asp:Formview), and the order of the parameters in the UpdateCommand. Is that correct? If so, why do the parameters have names if all that matters is the order? I tried both asp:ControlParameter and asp:Parameter. Maybe the more relevant question is why aren't the names used instead of the order, particularly for the form order?
So, given I display the Identity field (CID), and need that for the update, I cannot get the update to work without including it in the UpdateCommand. Of course, since it is an autonumber field in Access, I cannot actually set it. So, I had to add another field to the db (lngUpdateCID) that I could set. That can't be how it has to be done, but I could not figure out another way to do this.
I have a dynamic Table which contain 8 rows and 8 Colums
Table t = new Table(); TableRow rr = new TableRow(); TableCell cc = new TableCell(); and in the each Cell CC I add a dynamic Button(Or Linkbtn) LinkButton LB1 = new LinkButton(); LB1.Text = "AM"; LB1.ID ="Link1"; cc.Controls.Add(LB1); rr.Cells.Add(cc); LB1.Click += new EventHandler(LB1_Click); t.Rows.Add(rr);
i have a table with 8 rows , 8 colums and each cell contain a LinkButton (which diffrent in IDs) I want to add Lable in the same cell of this LinkBtn(LB1) which it clicked but I cann't What shoud I write here?
Lets say I have a Web Application with a menu of products. When a user clicks a menu item, then create and display a dynamic set of controls in an Update Panel. I am currently doing this however the PostBack and recreation of controls is tedious and resource intensive.
Not sure about this but is it possible to build a webpage with controls on it, then display it in update panel or IFrame? Then on post back you wouldn't have to recreate everything all over again?
I've only been coding .net for a few months so fogive me if the answer to this is obvious.I have been hitting a repeated problem in my application to do with event order. My requirement is always the same:1. Display page with controls2. Pick up on some event with these controls3. based on that event do some calculations before displaying the next page4. Now display the next page taking into account what the user has clicked. One example is that I have a chart, and next to it several link buttons these filter the age of the x axis eg 1 Year, 2 Years, 3 years. On the click event I set a from date of 12 months, 24 months or 36 months. I then display my chart initialising it in the page load event. I have a number of other things going on in the pageload making it difficult to move all the code to the control event from page-load.Neither of the above senerios work and I assume this is because the page load / init events fires before the control events from the previous page (is this right?)To illustrate the point I have made a simple program below that does not work. I'd be grateful for any guidance on how to go about this type of interface.
I have an asp.net web application. I don't have the source code. The bin contains 10 assemblies and a .compiled file. I used Reflector on the App_Code.dll and it shows me classes and namespaces and stuff, but its such a mess.Is there any way to reverse engineer this web app that won't take weeks/months to unfold? The application is pretty basic.
Note, the code is written by an engineer that left the company. We own the product.
(Not sure if I'm creating this post in the right place. Feel free to move if needed.)
I'm trying to enable full DNS lookup including hostname. Having trouble. I've followed the instructions here
(http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297795) with no luck. Request.ServerVariables("remote_host") still returns only an IP Address.
[Code]....
I've also tried using DNS.GetHostEntry(IPAddress) and the depricated DNS.GetHostByAddress(IPAddress). All I ever get back is the IP Address with no host name.
IIS 6.0, Windows Server 2007 Server Pack 2, .NET 2.0
We have nearly completed an ASP.NET MVC web application running with SSL in IIS and now find that we must integrate with a third-party product that is supplied as a PHP web app running under lightppd on an alternate port, but still on the same server.
We want to make the integration appear as seamless as possible, so our initial strategy is to do all of the authentication through our application, implement a reverse proxy to expose selected features from the third-party product, and then set-up the third-party product to only be accessible from localhost and (if we can manage it) only from the user our app pool runs as. As a second layer on top of this, we plan on running the third party active content in an IFRAME, so we can surround it with our menus and headers. With the right fonts and colors, hopefully, it won't look grossly out of place.
First question: Is this strategy totally naive? Given the hand we've been dealt, is there a better one?
Second question: What is the best way to implement the reverse proxy? I was thinking of using a routing rule with an Http Handler that invokes our usual authorization just as a controller would and makes the requests to the other site, streaming out the results it receives. Is there something that already does this generically, that I can just hook up and invoke? Maybe some way to specify a controller to handle everything I need to proxy and then use a ViewResult that represents a call to an external URL I construct from the URL I received?
If I can get a few pointers on what to look for, I can trot off to the docs for the details.
I have a FormView with an EditTemplate. And the EditTemplate contains an ascx control:
<asp:FormView ID="fvTicketUpdate" runat="server"
[code]...
The contents of the ascx control has TextBox and DropDownList controls binding to the results of the FormView's ObjectDataSource through Text='<%# Eval("field1") %>'and SelectedValue='<%# Eval("field2") %>'.This works fine and I have been building all of my front end pieces like this as <asp:Panels> rendering as FieldSets that go 100% across the screen. And we call these areas "strips" accross the screen. But now I've run into a problem. One TextBox and one DropDown bind fine to a Ticket Object. But the DropDownList that works has its <asp:ListItems> hardcoded before hand. Now I have DropDownList that gets populated through a WebService in the ascx's code behind like this:
public partial class UserControls_FormControls_PntipUpdtFaaInfo : System.Web.UI.UserControl { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { if (!Page.IsPostBack)
[code]...
The Problem I think is the FormView is trying to do its Bind to the objectDataSource before its child ascx control is loaded in the Edit Template. And I am getting this error:
Databinding methods such as Eval(),XPath(),and Bind() can only be used in the context of a databound control.Meaning that the control must already be databound to bind the selectedValue to a Property of the TicketObject. Is there an easy way to force the order of loading to make the PntipUpdtFaaInfo control load and have its Page_Load execute and bind ddlEquip before the FormView does its first dataBind and executing its Evals?Otherwise I have to take out the eval on the ddlEquip SelectedValue attribute and go to the Parent Page and hack and force everything to happen when it needs to.This layout has worked out well for me.All of the ascx area strips across the screen share the same Validation Summary for example. It allows me to think about one section at a time and the Properties to the Business Obect and CRUD methods as I go.But this is a big brick wall I've hit.
