I have 3 hyperlinks and i would like to put all three together and also change the surrounding colour to red and change the hyperlink text to blue..
View 2 RepliesIve searched everywhere for this but cant find the answer. I have used the following code before to change repeated items properties in an asp.net repeater as after they have been bound to do things i couldnt do prior to binding them.

Now i am wanting to do something similar but with a chekbox list. i want to change the colour of the labels and i know i can only do this after the list has been bound. I have notice checkboxlists only provide the parameter OnDataBound in intellisense, doesnt give me OnItemDataBound that repeaters do. What would be the equivalent i could use here?
For eg..in Stackoverflow site, after giving answer, if we are refreshing the page, it displays the answer with orange color and turns to white beautifully?
How we have to do this ? Can it is possible in asp.net - C# ?
I am using a master page where i have couple of links. I am using a css for maintaing the styles for the links.I have written a function in javascript to apply a different class dynamically in the "onclick" event.when i click on the link, untill the page postbacks the new style is applied but after the post back the hyperlink style is changed back to the original color.

I have a gridview that populate hyperlinks on a page. When i click on it it redirect to another page but when I go back one page it doesn't color the visited hyperlink. Does the gridview not support that or something? It works on the rest of my site. I tried adding CSS to it and still the same. This was my CSS:

I created a dropdwonlist and add colours to the items. But the colours will lose after the postback. After googled, I knew it is because the attributes specified for the dropdownlist were not saved in ViewState and also found the code to Overriding SaveViewState() and LoadViewState(object) from [URL]
But after I copy the code to my web application to create a new class, there are so many error massages. I have spend two days to find the solution, without much success.

What I need is to change the colour of header of column which I sorted the table by. E.g. if I sort the table by first name, I click on the header of column called "first name", then the table will be sorted by first name and the colour of the text "first name" will change. The sorting is not a problem but I don't know how to change the colour of text.

I have never used skins before, so I went online and found some samples. I am trying to get ANY skin to work, so I have an incredibly simple site, a master page, the default.aspx, the skin file. I am missing something because as near as I can tell my skin file is set up correctly and I THINK I am doing it all correctly, but the skin file / contents seems to be ignored. Here is the master page, all I am trying to do is change the colour of the submit button. I figure once I get the skin recognized the rest should be easy...

My default.aspx has NO changes to it. I created a new one added nothing so I am not displaying it here. In my App_Themes directory a new folder called 'First' was created. In that folder is a file called 'First.skin'. The contents of First.skin is: [Code]....

My issue is: i got a DevExpress control (ASPxGridView) that added and set-up in run time, since i activated the grouping functionality in the grid I still get JS error says ';' expected whenever i use (click) on one of grouping/sorting abilities, I activated script Debugging for IE, in the JS code turns out that there is no missing ';' and once i click ignore for the error msg that VS generates every thing works fine, and surly end-user can't see this msg so i figured out if i try/catch the script that may help avoid this error.
Two separate questions, but sufficiently intertwined that I'm going to try the two together....
Firstly - User Controls and Behaviours
I have a User Control which contains a few visual controls. I am attaching some behaviours by using GetScriptDescriptors and am passing some JavaScript to the browser using GetScriptReferences. That is all rock solid and working well. However, when developing, I did discover that I couldn't attach the ehaviours to the User Control itself - not surprising as rendering a User Control does not create a DOM element which represents the actual control. So, I have attached my behaviours to a "random" TextBox within the User Control.
So - first question, is there a better way to do that? For example, should I always be rendering a SPAN as an element to surround the control? Not sure what that would do to the robustness of the rendering. What is the right way to attach a behaviour to a User Control.
Secondly - Accessing those same Behaviours later
Assume I have placed a User Control on the page. That User Control exposes a Property (actually a Javascript Function of course) which does "something" to the control - for the sake of example we'll say that the function is set_Border(colour). I then have a behaviour on the same page (actually an Extender on a different control) which needs to call the function. I have a reference to the User Control in my script, so I have tried TheControlReference.set_Border('red') and find that my control doesn't support the set_Border method.
I guess this is probably because the behaviours are not attached to the User Control itself, but to a GUI element within it. Hence, I suspect that the answer to the second question lies within the answer to the first.
I come across the technique on how to apply a different CSS class to make a row stand out from the others. However, the original code is for gridview whilst I am trying to get it works on a listview. The original code for the gridview is as follows and how to get it done on listview.

i have an export to excel functionality on my page and when i export my this data to excel the backcolor of datarows after export is white.
The backcolor of rows after export to excel should be same as that of aspx page.
How can i get it done?

I know I could put them in a panel or a custom control, but, I was wondering if there was any other way to collectively associate multiple controls. In the back of my head I am thinking of Access where you can group a second of controls. I know that is mainly for UI, however, I didn't know if there was an OOP approach to the same thing in terms of exposing properties or not.
