Jan 6, 2010global resources in my asp.net mvc web application. I have some resources in separate project(not a web app project). Those resources have following settings: Build action: Embedded Resource, Copy To Output Directory: Do not copy, Custom Tool: ResXFileCodeGenerator. When I change an existing value in resource file, build solution in release mode and upload neccesary dll files back to server, the previous values in resources are still shown. However, when I add a new key into resource file, the value of this key is shown properly.

Jan 28, 2011I have a masterPage that has several labels populated by a Global Resource file. For some reason every time I add a entry to the Spanish global resource file and precompile my website and move out the App-GlobalResources.compiled and App_GlobalResources.dll. The changes/Updates do not seem to be reflected on the Prod Web Server. Am I missing a file I need to move to the server? the update is working fine when I run the site locally.

Dec 2, 2010if i have a separate dll for each page on my server and that is working fine. if I make some changes in code behind file of a particular page say, xyz.aspx page. then I have to upload the dll of that particular page. and that refreshes the whole web application and all sessions and other values got disturbed in the application. Is there any way that uploading the xyz.dll (of page xyz.apsx) on refreshes the xyz.aspx and didn't disturb the whole web application.

Feb 26, 2010My current solution consists of several Class Libraries and a Website. I'm in the process of globalizing the application and I realized that my resources need to be accessed by all the projects not just the website so placing my resources in the App_GlobalResources folder didn't work.
I added my resources to one my class Libraries and now I'm trying to figure out what the best way of accessing the resources are from my markup. When my resources were in the App_GlobalResources folder I was able to access them by using an expression such as this:
<$ Resources: MyApp.Name %> for server controls Or
<%=Resources.MyApp.Name %> for plain text
What's the best way of accessing my Resources from my website aspx files now that they are in a Class Library DLL?

Nov 7, 2010I have an ASP.NET web site project, which I'm publishing to IIS on my Win2k8 R2 server. It has a default page called login.aspx. I set that up on the published web site.
Trouble is, every time I publish a new version of the web site, the login.aspx entry gets erased from the "Default Document" settings of the web site in IIS. This is very annoying. How can I publish my web site from Visual Studio without wiping out the default page every time?
