how to allow the JS code on postback?
I have tried Page Validation is false and several others things I thought would but I just get a misc. server 500 error. I remove the JS and just use text and works no problems.

I am trying to write some code where it sets the imageUrl of an ASP Image from the codebehind (on a timer), but it does not change it on my screen (its changing in debug view). I assume this is because I need to postback everytime I change the image. Problem is, I cant trigger the postback from CodeBehind so that it will change. How do I do that?

I am so used to win32 forms -- Just started again with ASP websites.
I have a user control with a dozen radion buttons in it.Every pair of radio buttons execute a Sub on server side.All of the radio buttons have the autopostback set to true.There is a public Sub of the usercontrol that gets called only once by the page and loads the data setting the radio buttons to checked or not checked.The problem is, that once a radio button is set, it will execute it's server side code on every postback even if the postback is caused by another control on the usercontrol or even another control on the page. So if all the radiobutton pairs are set and a postback is caused, there will be six server side Sub executing! Casting the sender in each of those Subs gives back the radiobutton that is checked at that point, so it's if on every postback the event is fired for each checked radiobutton.

A have a web page that does an AJAX callback. When the CallBack event is handled, my ASP.NET code generates some JavaScript that is then returned to the browser. The idea is that this JavaScript will then immediately be executed. The reality is that it isn't....

I am using an AJAX extender on a panel that lets me expand and collapse a panel when I click a button. Does anyone know how to collapse a panel by code without doing a postback? I looked at the properties and methods on the ajax toolkit page and either it is not possible or I am missing it. Actually there is a postback on what I am doing - I forgot. But the page comes back with it open still.

View 6 RepliesIn ASP .NET 2.0, I've created a user control which is meant to work as a dropdown or popup by using an <input type="button" id="btnTogglePopup" runat="server" style="display:inline"... /> and <div id="divPopup" runat="server" style="display:none" ... /> the rest of the controls are contained inside this div, and they do mantain their values between posts, etc. This button 'runs at server' but it's not intended to post back or submit.It just toggles the popup (div) visible/hidden using Javascript client code by setting the div's style display property to "none" or "block" The problem I'm having is that when a page containing this control posts back, the state visible/hidden of the div is not maintained. If the user had the popup open, after the postback, it will display closed.I've read a bunch by now about ViewState & ControlState, and have the save and load contol state methods working, but when I step thru them they load old values (setting the popup to hidden all the time),and the popup doesn't work! I've come to think that b/c when the button is clicked,the visible state of the div is changed in client code w/o a postback, maybe I have to maintain this state info in a hidden fiel or something like that?At the same time I don't want to have a hidden field if it's unnecessary,and I may just doing something wrong.

I'm trying to understand how to execute AJAX animation on an asp button that has to execute code on Postback. In other words, I have button with code behind that needs to be excuted, but at the same time want to be able to have one of animation extenders be applied to it. I understand that I need to use the BeginRequest Event, I'm just not sure how, or which javascript commands to use to call the ajax animation so the postback will still occur.

I have 2 textboxes and a submit button inside a .net composite server control. I tried to only postback when submit button is clicked. I set autopostback = false for both textboxes. But either one still trigger submit button's onclick event by hitting "Enter" inside textbox. How can I stop postback by enter key?

iam using the Jquery Uframe with asp.net project.Iam getting a postback problem here.
In side the uframe ,button control getting postback the page even the client side method call also.
i tried with the Html button Control also by setting the type="submit" ,iam facing the same problem.
And I got very limited reference about the uframe(codeflex,codeProject).
Is something like this possible?

View 1 RepliesI implemented the AsyncFileUpload control on a web page. This web page requires uploaded files to appear in a gridview. The gridview contains the following columns: "File Name", "Confidential" Check Box, and a "Remove" button to remove the uploaded file.
Since the AsyncFileUpload postback does not do a full page postback, I need to "force" a postback on the OnClientUploadComplete event of the AsyncFileUpload control in order to render the gridview after uploading a file. In the OnClientUploadCompleteevent, I use javascript to call __doPostBack. In this postback, I only bind my gridview and display the file information (I don't re-save the file).
The problem: On the AsyncFileUpload's first "partial" postback, the file is successfully uploaded, as expected. On the second postback that I force with __doPostBack, the file is re-uploaded. You can verify this by using Google Chrome, which displays the upload progress. The behaviour is as follows: After selecting the file, the progress increments from 0% to 100% and the file is uploaded. After this, the __doPostBack executes, and you can see the upload progress increment again from 0% to 100%.
How can I make sure the Gridview is properly populated, but that the file is not uploaded twice?
