View 3 RepliesI've done this using bound controls like Repeaters etc but now I need to display information about a single file for example. SO i will pass the fileid in the querystring, then I need to populate some textboxes, autocomplete textboxes etc. and then save changes. what's the most efficient way of doing this?
View 13 RepliesI am generating dynamic textboxes with the ids as follows table row 1:
no1,name1,addressline11,addressline21,city,pin,communicationAddress1(here the row count I am appending at last to the control id's)table row 2: no2,name2,addressline12,addressline22,city,pin,communicationaddress2
table row 3: no3,name3,addressline13,addressline23,city,pin,communicationaddress3 and so on....
A new will be created when user hits enter key in the last textbox i.e., communicationaddress.For validations I have used java script. Now my requirement is when user types the address line the content of the textbox should be copied to communication address.
communication address = addressline1+addressline2+city+pin
so in theabove four textboxes when the user hits the keys the matter appending to the communication address with ',' seperated. I acheived this through key press event in java script..................
I have able to generate several labels and textboxes based on a table in the database during runtime. My problem is that I could not get these values from these textboxes whenever a user changes these values and update them.
View 4 RepliesI have the following code to generate a table with the necessary textboxes. Now i need to populate those fields with the data from the table. If it makes it any easier, the individual textbox values are stored in a table with a reference to the main recordID
How can i populate the correct textbox with the appropriate column value?

I have a txtbox that is used to input a date. I would like to have to addiional textboxes that auto populates with 45 days + the date and 90 days + the date.
View 7 RepliesI'm trying to make a form that could have one or multiple textboxes. I have a textbox and a button to add additional textboxes.
I have no problem adding a second textbox inside a panel but I want to be able to keep adding more textboxes every time the link button is clicked and later reference those boxes to be saved. I would also like to maintain the value of the textboxes there. They are not saved to the database until all the necesary texboxes have been added.
I added the textbox using:
private void button1_Click(Object sender, System.EventArgs e)
{
TextBox textbox1 = new TextBox();
panel.controls.add(textbox1);
}
that works fine, but when i click the button again it doesn't add an additional textbox which is what i need.
i have a textbox (txt_inputchild) for entering no of children name.
and a Add button (btn_add) for increasing the no of children one by one.
how to write code in c# and how can i identify my dynamic textboxes id's to send data to database.
I m trying to populate a set of 3 textboxes based on a value entered into the first textbox. So when a user enters a value in the first textbox, i would like them to be able to tab out of it and it will automatically populate the remaining textboxes.
I know javascript has the OnBlur function which can do this but is there a way to accomplish this using asp.net (c#)
I have a page of several textboxes, which I would essentially like to populate from a single query. However, to begin with, I find myself unable to even populate one textbox from one query!
I have based the following on a query previously advised to me for use with drop-down lists (hence the use of DataTable). I have adapted this as follows:
AddData.aspx:
<asp:TextBox ID="tbNewDataNum" runat="server"></asp:TextBox>
AddData.aspx.vb:
Partial Public Class AddData
Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
Dim CommonFunctions As New CommonFunctions
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
[Code]....
I would like the Page_Load event to populate the textbox with this query, so that the value is present as soon as the page is presented. Also, how would you advise populating many different textboxes in one go, with one query? Is this possible too?
Scenario is: I have multiple positions and multiple employees.
Now in one of my forms I know how many positions are there and corresponding to each position i want to show Employee DropDownList(DDL) and Text Boxes (Start Time, EndTime) and some comments for each position. Employee DDL will be populated from DB and Position name will be displayed on labels and that too are getting form DB
say at one instance i have 5 positions and then i want DDL of EmployeeName for each position and similarly TextBoxes for each positions Where i can ask user to full the information for each Position and user can save the data.
And at another instance similar behaviour is required if Positions are 10 , 3 , 8.
I have able to generate several labels and textboxes based on a table in the database during runtime. My problem is that I could not get these values from these textboxes whenever a user changes these values and update them.
View 8 RepliesHow can i put and populate the textbox inside the gridview during runtime? i mean the number textbox depends on the number of data from the database.
View 4 RepliesI'm using the calendar extendar to populate the "StartDay" textbox. However when i choose that "StartDay", i do not want that date to be valid when i choose another date to populate the "EndDay" textbox. Can it be done? i've tried any methods but it didn't seem to work.All i've manage to do was to check if the date was in the past.

I have a one combobox and 3 textboxes and one sql datasource.
When I select the name in the textbox I want to show the values in the relevant textboxes. For instance, in the combobox when i select the Name of the employee the relevant information about this employee is shown in the 3 textboxes, i.e. age, cell #, extension.
I have a repeater which is binded using a Collection of Entity Data Framework.
Once the repeater is binded using the datasource, the user can control the no of rows present in the repeater using a Dropdown list on the page. For ex: if datasource has 2 rows, user want to add 3 more rows, user selects 5 from dropdown, which adds 3 additional rows to the Repeater. I am able to do this.
The repeater has textbox controls in each row. Now once the user enter the values in this textbox of the newly generated rows, the user can save the values entered with the no of rows specified.
I have a button which is outside the repeater and on click of this i need to validate all the textbox values and save them into dB accordingly.
Here is my code
Repeater.aspx
[Code]....

Repeater.aspx.cs

Right now the problem is im not able to fetch the values of the textboxes present in the newly generated rows.

View 2 Repliesthere is a radio button, a dropdownlist. radiobuttons are OY, OTY,VDA ( in my database there are fields named OY.OTY,VDA) if i select OY in my radio button the data should be displayed from field OY in dropdownlist and if i select OTY in my radio button the data should be displayed from OTY field in dropdownlist is it possible. there is a sqldatasource for dropdownlist .

I don't know if gnomes came into my office over night, but suddenly things aren't lining up on my form anymore.
I want a label over a text box and both to line up on the left edge.
I made two css classes one for a field that starts on a new row and one for a field that floats left next to a previous field.
[Code]....
For each of these I make divs and put the asp controls in the div
As usual the designer completely lies about how things will really look. When I view my site the labels are above and about 1 character to the left of the textboxes underneath and my check box control somehow decided to go to a newline for each word in it's label.
I can't figure out what I did wrong. I've went over the css several times.

I'm creating 14 textboxes for every day in a month and user can select the month so i have o create them dynamically. But i can't reach the values in the textboxes.
When i don't create them dynamically like
<asp:TextBox ID= "TextBox1" name="TextBox1"> </asp:TextBox>
I can get the value from the C# side by using the
((TextBox)Page.Form.FindControl("TextBox1")).Text
However this moethod doesn't work for the textboxes that i created dynamically. I'm creating them in a loop it's something like;
[Code]....
Then i add the text box to the necessary places at my table.However i can't reach the textboxes when i use the same method
((TextBox)Page.Form.FindControl("!A uniqe ID!"));
It gave a null value...
I am trying two calculate a date range from two textboxes. I currently have:
[Code]....
the date in textbox1 comes from cdrcalendar. I need to include cdrcalendar2 somewhere. Something along the line of "with cdrCalendar.SelectedDates and with cdrCalendar2.SelectedDates".
I have 3 textboxes. In the first two, times will be entered (an IN and OUT time) and the third textbox needs to subtract the two times from txtbox1 and txtbox2. Somehow I need to validate the times are entered correctly into txtbox1 and txtbox2. Right now, if the first txtbox is blank, it brings in the system time in the following format on the code behind:
[Code]....
The txtTimeOut.Text box needs to be validated somehow to the same format of hh:mm tt and then the third txtbox should be the difference of the two txtboxes.
