I've used checkboxlist to insert data into the sql database...
example... checkboxlist have values 1,2,3,4,5... If is select 1,3 and 5 the values stored in databse will be 1,3,5.
Now i want to retrieve those values into similar checkboxlist(1,2,3,4,5), but only 1,3 and 5 saved in db should be selected, 2 and 4 unselected....
I have a page where I will insert all the data into the database. The page where I'm having problems is when I select an item from the checkboxlist it only displays one item. The data which is displayed is only the one that was inserted with one selected item from the checkboxlist. The following code is the page I'm using to try to retrieve the data from the database. I am trying to do is when a user selects the first, second, or third, or fourth item. The corresponding data appears in the gridview. In my current code, the record which has one item selected appears. If the user has more than one selected it does not appear. It comes up as empty. Is there a way I can do it?

how I access /retrieve values of checkboxlist inside a repeater? My code is below..is it the same as if it was not inside a repeater? My other concern is how do I distinguish these checkboxes because basically what 's going to happen here is based on which checkbox is selected I need to query an xml file to get the location of a folder which I'm then going to zip up and allow user to download..So here's the breakdown. I have an accordion panel using jquery ui. Each panel hold a product and each product has the same checkboxes..so depending on which product the user wants to download files for which he/she will indicate by opening the accordion panel for that product and checking which checkboxes/file they want to download . So how will I know which product the user clicked the checkboxes for being that I'm using this repeater which just one ID?

Basically a listing can be more than 1 type and I want that to be able to be shown using the ListingMatrix table. However, I'm having a lot of issues populating the checkboxlist because I have it being sorted by Title to keep it user friendly. I'm using VB.Net, LINQ and MS SQL.

I use a ModalpopupExtender to show a dialog to the user which consist of a CheckBoxList control that is bound to a session table. The user can check/uncheck the CheckBoxList items and click the Ok control to close the ModalPopUp. When we change the selected radio button then it modifies the elements in the checkboxlist. For this I setted the radio buttons with autopostback, and in the code behind (in OnLoad) I populate the CheckBoxList depending on the selected radio button.
This work fine.
The problem is that I also have a button at the end of my form which post the data of my form in another page (with PostBackUrl). Then in that page I would like to retrieve the values of the checked checkbox. But I can't find how to do that. In the Request.Form I don't see anything.
I searched on the web but I didn't found really a solution.

I got a table in a formview where i placed lots of textboxes and dropdownlists inside the table because I need these textboxes and dropdownlists on a background image.
the data on textboxes and dropdownlists that are inside the table is unable to be saved into the database when i pressed the "submit" button. Other textboxes and dropdownlists that are not inside the table work fine. Here are the HTML code for the table:

I am using a bound gridview in ASP.NET 2.0. The gridview has the ability to edit/update and insert rows. One of the columns holds a number which represents a percentage. What I cannot figure out is how to ensure that all the rows in the gridview total 100% before being able to send the updates or newly inserted data to the database.
For example say there are 5 rows in the gridview, each row has 20% stored in the column so it adds up to 100% which is fine, the data is updated/inserted in the database. But say each row only had 15% totalling 75%, the user should not be able to send the updated/inserted data to the database until either they add a new row with a percentage of 25 or they edit the other rows for a cumulative total of 100%

From the documenteationI see, it seems to me that the checkbox I have here should be bound to the data field BIT on SQL Server. The gridview displays a checkbox. Lovely. But when I click the grid's edit, check the checkbox and click the grid's update, the value is not saved/changed.I thought this was straightforward asp control.

i am having two textboxes and a label in a gridview control, i am adding a javascript function to the second textbox onblur event attribute and display the result in the label, the function works fine and result is displayed in the label, but when i am saving the grid data into the database, the label is returned 0 or empty, but i am able to see the value , how to overcome this.
View 1 RepliesI have a DataGrid that has a dropdown list in an ItemTemplate. Basically, users select a value from the dropdown for each row of the datagrid. When the page is posted back, the selected index of the dropdown list is always reset to 0, and the items are re-bound.
Does anyone know why this might happend? The dropdown items are hardcoded, so there is no external data binding that happens on post back.
I able to successfully see all the Excel files in the given folder using the datagrid and code below. Now I would like to be able to click the link to the file, or add a button, to get a download file dialog box.

now i have to show these photo in a gridview according to the candidates rollno. i am trying to use the imagefield of a gridview control to display the photo but it is not displaying the photo in a grid view

Just what i want to do that when user click on hyperlink on particular row hyperlink button it should download a file.
The files are going to be saved daily in a share folder.

I am somewhat new at C# so forgive me if I have something listed wrong. This is what I got:
I am working on a school project designing a car dealership website. I have an inventory list that allows you to edit any car in the inventory. When you click on the edit button it takes you to the edit page and populates the controls with selections from the database. I have an options table that stores the VehicleID and Option ID. When the page loads it fills all the DropDownLists for the vehicle info with the data and selects the correct item according to the database selection but the CheckBoxList does not select the items that are on the Options table. I checked the query in SSMS and it returns the correct data. I have stepped through the method and it works till the "(currentCheckBox != null) if statement. It doesn't throw any errors but it also doesn't select items when the page renders.
I thought it might have been something with the page life cycle since databound controls don't render until the end but the DropDown's I have fill and selects the correct item according to the database.
Scenario : I want to add data from database to checklistbox on page_load and checked data should be stored in other table.I want to bind data to checklistbox like a gridview, i m trying but i m not able to.
