I hv created a menu during runtime.. my menu items are from the database. . wen i click the particular menu item, it shud redirect me to the related webpage. .
I wanna know how can i make menuitemclick event fired... nd how can i set different redirect webpages for different menu items as all the menu items r loaded at runtime..
I want to go to same page by clicking some of my menu items. I am passing the item value(or) text through query string.But my menu's click event is not working. I couldnt get the desired output.
This menu control is in <filename>.master file and event handler is in <filname>.master.cs file.

I have a fairly complex web app which has two levels of master page. The top level provides a nav bar constructed from a Menu control across the top of the page. Second level master pages provide menus down the side. It all works well.
On both Menu controls, I need to handle the MenuItemClick event. This works fine on the Menu controls on the second-level master pages. However, the Menu on the top level master does not raise the event at all.
This web site makes extensive use of Ajax and the top-level master page contains the ScriptManager. Before I go to all the work of creating a much simpler test site, why the Menu control is not raising the MenuItemClick event?

The logging call in the event handler never gets called. Equivalent code in the Menu on the second-level master does get called.
I have a menu of products which are created at runtime from the database and populated into menu control.

I'm creating some linkbuttons dynamically and assigning properties like below. Also I'm adding an event handler to the created link button:

What happens here is when the links created at runtime are clicked, most of the links are linked to other applications. (e.g from app1 to app2, app1 to app3 etc..) So when moving from the current app to the next I want to abandon the current session. However, this event is not firing before navigating to the next page. Could someone suggest a workaraound or the correct way to accomplish that?
I'm trying to manually create a button and add a Click event handler for it in code. However when the button is clicked the event handler doesn't seem to react on event (or event isn't called).
we tested the code in Visual Studio 2008 and everything worked just as it should. And I'm using Visual Web Developer 2005 XE. So I assume that I'm missing something to be done manually being in VWD 2005 XE, or the problem is in VWD 2005 XE it self.

I've got a repeater that's used to display the output of a dynamic report that takes criteria from webcontrols on the page. Within the repeater's ItemDataBound method I'm adding controls (Linkbuttons for sorting by column values) dynamically to the header of the repeater based on values selected in a checkbox list and at this point setting the CommandArgument and CommandName properties of the linkbuttons.
The issue is that when the linkbuttons are clicked they don't fire the ItemCommand event although they are clearly being correctly created and added to the header (there is some additional code to set the cssClass, text etc. and this works as expected.) The first column header in the repeater is set in the markup and the itemcommand event fires correctly on this one only. When the other column headers are clicked the repeater rebinds as programmed, but the columns are not dynamically re-generated.

I have a page with a couple of RequiredFieldValidators, each in its own ValidationGroup. One of the RequiredFieldValidator controls is inside a Datalist and the submit button triggers the relevant DataList_ItemCommand. It works just dandy until I add the ValidationGroup to the button, at which point clicking on the button no longer fires the DataList_ItemCommand event. Here is the HTML

Note that the ValidationGroup name is there, and it is unique. No other ValidationGroups exist with that name. As it stands, this code does NOT fire the DataList_ItemCommand event, so no update occurs. However if I remove the ValidationGroup declaration from the Button control, the event fires properly.

MenuItemClick event will fire on Page1 and Page2 but not Page3 or Page4. The page will post back but will not fire MenuItemClick event. When mouse hovers over the page1 thru page4 nodes IE status bar at bottom shows javascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$Menu1','\/page?.aspx') where ? = 1,2,3,4. I can delete Parent 1 and page1&2 nodes and page3&4 will fire MenuItemClick. Its as though any child nodes after the initial set will not fire the MenuItemClick event.

View 2 RepliesI have a gridview called gvResults. In the gvResults_RowEditing event I add a row below the one selected. In that new row, which spans all columns, I insert a user-control. There are two buttons and some textboxes in the user control.
My problem is that when I click one of the user-control buttons it never gets to the button event handler, I think because the user control is not recreated on the page postback. How can I have the user-control events fire before the parent page events fire?
I tried using an update panel, but I still get the parent posting back before the user-control events.

I have a button which has a click event but its not firing on the first click. I suspect its something to do with that i am in dropdown box control so when i click the Button the event for the dropdown box occurs (textChanged) but it forgets about the click event
Of course if i click it a second time it works.
Or if i click somewhere else first so that the event TextChange occurs and then click the Button the first time it executes..
Is this normal and what are more workarounds if any?
basically the TextChange event must fire but the button click event must fire as well.
