I do not have much experience with asp:menus. How would I be able to make visible or invisible certian pages depending on a factor that I get from a session varaible? I plan on doing this on the backend in VB.net.

I'm trying to create an asp menu for a website. The site will have 2 levels of user Master users (which will have more options) and Sub users which will have limited menu options.
I was wonder does anyone knows if a way to hide menu items? I've tried google but I can't really find much.

I am trying to style the menu control to allow the menu items to float to the right of the container, however I am unable to do so as whenever I am styling the a, ul or li it keeps getting overidded by asp.net and floats everything left.

View 1 RepliesI have a Menu control in MasterPage based on web.sitemap file. My website has roles enabled (AspNetWindowsTokenRoleProvider) and uses Windows authentication mode. So, user has to be in a specific Windows Group to be able to access the site. I need to allow some users to see all menu nodes and some restricted set of nodes. How do I do that?
I would like to be able to create, say following Windows groups:
domain_namemy_app_users
domain_namemy_app_superusers
domain_namemy_app_admins
and code sitemap nodes this way:

I'm using asp.net and css to style a master page with navigation at the top. I was hoping to add the login status control in as a menu item but it is not allowed. Can someone point me in the right direction? When I post my code on this forum do I have to include tags?

The application has this page for one type of user but another type of user is not allowed access it.

The menu items and the childs are populating correctly but then the menu is not being displayed on the menu control.

Access to my application is controlled by user accounts. I would like my text labels to change within my pages depending on the user logged in. This needs to be easily managed.
What is the best way to achieve this? Would using the resources file work?

I would like to change a Theme in an ASP.NET web application, depending on the login credentials. So, if user1 logs in, then the Theme will automatically be set to say User1Theme. And if user2 logs in, then the theme will automatically be set to User2Theme. Otherwise, I would like the theme to be set to DefaultTheme.

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a template field which has four itemtemplates that each hold a label in a gridview. These labels are always constant with the same strings. What I want to do is change the css formatting of these four labels depending on the value of a column. So the css formatting would have to be done for each row, not the whole column. I bind the gridview to a dataaccesslayer so there is no sqldatasource on the page. Does anyone have any idea how to do this and where it would be done. I will have the dataview with the data sorted in the correct order. The actual column that is used to alter the CSS will not be in the gridview although I could assign it to the datakeyname if that makes it easier as the data is not sensitive.
