Mobiles :: Read Binary File Into String

Mar 27, 2011

i am working on the mobile application, and i want to read binary file .. its just contains the string.. e.g "hi Wel come". I have opened that file using filestream and try to read that file using binaryReader.. but it didn't read that file correctly. if i use

binaryreader.readstring();

it throws an exception of endOfstream. when i stored that stream into array of byte and read it through response.binaryWrite.... like

Response.clear();
Response.BinaryWrite(buffer);
Response.flush();
Response.close();
Response.end();

it shows me the correct result as i want ..i.e it shows the "hi wel come" on browser. like this i want to store that content of file into string

Security :: Write Custom MemberShip Provider Only To Read Connection String From Other File

Sep 16, 2010

In asp.net mvc project I am using MYSQlMemberShipProvider. Now I want that instead of reading the connection string from web.config file, it will read the connection string from external file every time. So that I am implementing the cutsom mebership provider class, this class inherits the MemberShipProvider class. But the problem is that if I inherits the MemberShipProvider class then I have to impelment all of its method in my cutsom membership provider class, But I want to use all other inbuilt methods of MemeberShip. What can i do. I only want to add the code like below:

public class CustomSqlMembershipProvider :MembershipProvider
{
public override void Initialize(string name, NameValueCollection configs)
{
base.Initialize(name, configs);
Connectionstring objProducts = // redaing the connection string.
}
}

But on compiltaion it is giving me the error does not implement inherit abstract member.

Access File System Through Query String Or Parameters?

Feb 11, 2011

I have been given a task of reproducing the issue/testing the unauthorized access to file system through request.param and query string.

For instance i have something like this. request.querystring("blah");

How could somebody pass "../../../b1/b2" in the query string and access file system.

This may be related to cross site scripting.

Mobiles :: How To Use Query String With Local Html File In Windows Mobile Web Form

Mar 16, 2010

I am trying to display a local .html file in a web page. The file uses javascript to display some information about my phone. In the executable, I am retrieving two values out of the registry. I would like to pass these values in a query string (I think that is the correct terminology). Something like file://\Program Files\TestTest.html?type=newtype. I have attempted this with using webbrowser.navigate, but that is giving an unhandled exception when it tries to pass the URI string. Obviously, I have no experience with this and am using the wrong method. There has to be a simple way to open a new webpage in a form and pass it this type of string.

how to implement such a function? I have been attempting to implement this with Visual C# using the .net CF for Windows Mobile.

C# - Sql Inline Query - Parameter Is Not Read When The Query Is Executed

Apr 23, 2010

I am having a problem with my sql query in c#, basically it's inline query with parameters, but when I run it it tells me that parameter 1 or parameter 2 is not there here is my query declared on top of the page as public:

public const string InsertStmtUsersTable = "insert into Users (username, password, email, userTypeID, memberID, CM7Register) " +
"Values(@username, @password, @email, @userTypeID, @memberID,@CM7Register ); select @@identity";

this is my code for assigning the parameters, I know I am having problem so I am assigning the params twice:

Username =(cmd.Parameters["@username"].Value = row["username"].ToString()) as string;
cmd.Parameters["@username"].Value = row["username"].ToString();

In 1 methopd it calls this query and tries to insert to table, here is the code:

Result = Convert.ToInt32(SqlHelper.ExecuteScalar(con, CommandType.Text,InsertStmtUsersTable));

Exact error message is: Must declare the variable '@username'. Could this code be a problem, because all the previous coding is declared with in this using statement, except declaration of query, here the using statement: using (SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(InsertStmtUsersTable, con))

C# - Cannot Pass A Input From Text Box To A Query String And Then Keep The String In This Box?

May 28, 2010

I have a simple ASP.net page:

<form id="form1" runat="server">
<p><asp:TextBox id="input_box" runat="server"></asp:TextBox>
<asp:Button Text="OK" runat="server" OnClick="run" /></p>
</form>

I want to send input from input_box to a query string, and then keep this input in the input_box when the page reloads.

That's the code behind page:

protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
input_box.Text = Request.QueryString["input"];
}
protected void run(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
string url = string.Format("?input={0}", input_box.Text);
Response.Redirect(Request.Url.AbsolutePath + url);
}

Problem is that when query string is not empty, string from input_box cannot be passed to query string. How to correct it?

Save Local File Path As String And Open File From Saved String?

Jan 29, 2011

I have a form where users can store some data for archived documents. All documents are ONLY in PDF format.

There are 2 things I would like to do:

1. there is a "file path" text box on the form. I would like to open a "browse file dialog" box when user clicks the textbox and then the user browses for the file (file is on the users local machine) and selects it. The full file path should be saved to the textbox as string (e.g. "c:archive2010document11122011.pdf"). Also I would like to "limit" the file browser dialog to only show PDF format files...

2. add a code behind command to open the file from the saved path+name (see 1.) in the user's default PDF viewer (Acrobat or Foxit)
