View 2 RepliesI have an asp registration page using a custom asp:CreateUserWizard.
Once the registration is completed successfully (RegisterUser_CreatedUser for example) I want to redirect the user to another page, be it a welcome screen, etc... (using Response.Redirect(URL); I guess), but I also want to, some how, popup a new window with the login page.
Is it possible to popup a screen from an external url using this method, or is there another way I should go about it?
I did try creating a custom button which calls this js function for registration:

This popup works because its called off a click, but the problem with this is the popup is always called even if the creation of the user was unsuccessful - which is wrong.
I am using MVC 2, IIS7 on Vista Ultimate.In the VS2008, my application return ip address: 127.0.0.1
but, after deployed and published to IIS7 server, I got ip address: ::1
I have an export button which exports the datagrid data to the excel sheet, now the problem is it is not exporting the right data to the excel sheet, the address column is showing just the 1st line of address shown in the datagrid and also not showing the

Suddenly, IIS 7.0 is redirecting every request for the root of any domain hosted on the box to ~/Account/Logon, which is our Forms Authentication redirect. Additionally, some JavaScript and image requests are being similarly redirected, but not other aspx pages.
EDIT: It turns out that something has gone wrong with the disk permissions. Can anyone point me to the way things are supposed to be in Windows Server 2008 for a standard ASP.Net installation? The disk permissions are out of whack now.

I am using a custom asp.net rewriting module for some time now, and I would like to know how to reference/get a rewritten address (the url that shows in address bar) of an original url using Request.Url?
When I reference url with Request.Url.AbsoluteUri I always get the original address and not the rewritten one. One solution is to encode the original url once again, but I was looking for a different solution where I could actually reference this new url.
I have an application that's locked down using forms authentication. There are few nightly tasks I want to script that make get requests to, say, http://myapp.domain.com/NightlyTask ... I don't need any response, I just need it to accept a get request from a certain IP address. I realize you could spoof an IP address, etc. but I'm trying to make this dead simple.Is there anyway I can setup the Web.config to unconditionally give access to a certain IP? Any other idea to approach this?Again, long-term solution would be a service running Quartz or some other cron-like job handler. I'm not quite there yet, hoping for an interim solution

Is there a way to browse the server directory in a similar fashion to the FileUpload control? I do not need to upload a file, I just need exactly the same functionality as the textbox part of the FileUpload control! (i.e. When you click in the textbox, a browser opens, you select the folder, the path is filled into the textbox for you) P.S. I searched a few existing posts already on this, but several were dead ends, hence another post!
I had a .net 4.0 vb.net page that was setting session variable and setting a hidden form value to the same value. It was a paypal buy now button. When the user selects it, they are sent to paypal for payment. If the transaction is good, they are redirected back to another page on my site and a hidden value is sent back with the invoice I originally sent them. They are sending the form value, but my session variable does not available.
From the user point of view it's all seamless.. Is it the same session? And should my session variable be available?
I have a previously working ASPX website which also supports AJAX. However, we just upgraded our SQL Server to a new version and now this website is no longer working. I believe the problem is that now we need to again restore original SQL accounts and settings prior to this upgrade. This website also uses AJAX. Which accounts need to be created to fix this problem? When I navigate to this URL, I get the message below:

I have two domains for example [URL] and [URL] which both point to the same website app. In this app I have an HTTP module which checks if the session of the user is still active and if so checks if the user is a male or female. I want to check from which domain the user entered the website. If the user is a male but entered (came from) [URL]the user must be redirected to [URL]. The opposite must be done in case of a women. Other scenario's are:
a male user enters [URL]it should be redirected to [URL]
a male user enters [URL]it should be redirected to [URL]

View 3 RepliesI've got a lightbox with a small form (2 fields) in it, inside an UpdatePanel, and I want to close this lightbox (must be done via javascript) when the 'Save' button is pressed.
However, there is a need to have a server-side CustomValidator on the page, and I only want to close the lightbox if this returns as valid.
Does anyone know a way to trigger javascript (or jQuery) code from a server-side validator?
I am having problem redirecting error when error is http 500 or http 403 locally running this site there is no problem it gets redirected to my errorpage.aspx. But when deployed at server, it does not get .tried putting try and catch in page_load and in global.asax and I have set Application_Error to redirect to that page and also set <customErrors defaultRedirect to that page also

For example,
Dropdownlist for send from who, Dropdownlist for recieving person...The behind values should be email addresses.
And this information should come from global address list on our exchange server.
I'm calling a static Page method via javascript that takes between 5s and 10 min. I'd like to give my user the choice to either continue waiting for the request to complete or not, and use window.setTimeout() to check back every 30s.
I've tried both location.href = '/newpage.aspx' or firing a button's click handler (which does similar redirect) to redirect the user prior to completion of the page method, to no avail. I can immediately send user to a simple html page, but a redirect to any aspx page involving server-side appears to block. When the page method finally completes, the redirect does succeed.
Is this:
a browser issue? If all modern browsers support at least 2 concurrent requests per domain, why wouldn't this work?
a framework limitation? a desirable design pattern or even possible? I've checked, and after redirecting to an HTML page, the original request continues processing (db updates, no problem).
I'm trying to develop a Web application that sends requests it recieves to another server. Basically, my application will work like a proxy sending requests and responses to client and real server. I'm using HttpHandlers to capture all requests coming to server and using a class implemented from IHttpHandler, I create another request to my target server.
So far, I tried:

which got me the first page I request, for example when I request login page, I see it, but I can't see css or images(basically because it writes css and image files to page with context.Response.Write) also, since I did not get server variables I can not log in to my server, I keep reloading login page when I click login button.Then I tried changing the Host header of the first request I got thinking I could do a request with same request headers.

I'm working with asp.net c# web application. We have completed site and hosted in dedicated server (own server).
This server having only one site (sharepoint site). A page having 1000+ images. Loading in base page. And slide show in popup page.
Base page image painting is going on. At same time popup page image is not loading up to base page paint complete. I changed popup image download to some other server means working fine.
Here my problem is same domain more than 2 request web server (iis) not responding up to first 2 requests complete. We can call 2 requests at a time. How to increase more than 2 request in ie. This problem is not available in Firefox. Firefox can manage more than 2 requests. Ie not allows only 2 requests to one domain at a time.
How to send more than 2 requests from ie to a domain?
I have a web page which has few comments box which multi line asp text boxes. When i submit the page, i pass all the data as Server.UrlDecode(Request.Form.ToString()). Before submitting it to DB and splitting the string based on & and manipulating the values.
But when the user types in & in the comment box, my string manipulation gets messed up and i am getting "Index outside the bound" error.
Is there any way to encode user typed & and manipulate it?
