Configuring Application To Always Accept GET Request From A Particular IP Address?
Aug 26, 2010
I have an application that's locked down using forms authentication. There are few nightly tasks I want to script that make get requests to, say, http://myapp.domain.com/NightlyTask ... I don't need any response, I just need it to accept a get request from a certain IP address. I realize you could spoof an IP address, etc. but I'm trying to make this dead simple. Is there anyway I can setup the Web.config to unconditionally give access to a certain IP? Any other idea to approach this?Again, long-term solution would be a service running Quartz or some other cron-like job handler. I'm not quite there yet, hoping for an interim solution
Right now I have the from address in the code behind file set but I want it to reflect the email address entered in the form for reply purposes once I receive the email. How do I do this? Here is my code behind script:
I'm trying to install a 32-bit ASP.NET application onto a 64-bit IIS server running on Windows Server 2008. This is a clean installation of the operating system with no other applications installed. As a prerequisite for our installation, we run the 32-bit version of aspnet_regiis -iIt fails with the following message: The error indicates that IIS is not installed on the machine. Please install IIS before using this tool.Additionally:IIS is definitely installed. The 64 bit version of aspnet_regiis runs cleanly without warnings.€œEnable 32 bit applications" is set to True in the DefaultAppPool's Advanced Settings. The IIS Metabase and IIS 6 configuration compatibility" component is installed. We have a test VM where this error occurs as well as test VM where both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of aspnet_regiis run without errors. We've had no luck distinguishing the differences between the two test VMs.We have struggled with this issue for several days to no avail.
I am using a custom asp.net rewriting module for some time now, and I would like to know how to reference/get a rewritten address (the url that shows in address bar) of an original url using Request.Url?
When I reference url with Request.Url.AbsoluteUri I always get the original address and not the rewritten one. One solution is to encode the original url once again, but I was looking for a different solution where I could actually reference this new url.
i am getting this error when requesting a page on my project.it was running fine before but suddenly it keeps me throwing this error.i am straching my hair over this.
I have a previously working ASPX website which also supports AJAX. However, we just upgraded our SQL Server to a new version and now this website is no longer working. I believe the problem is that now we need to again restore original SQL accounts and settings prior to this upgrade. This website also uses AJAX. Which accounts need to be created to fix this problem? When I navigate to this URL, I get the message below:
I'm new to using asp.net dynamic data apps.. I just generated a simple app from my schema, and in one table I'm trying to insert a record where one of the fields is a varchar(255) field. I am finding that any input that has the "<" character in it will cause the app to throw an error when you try to save it, with the exception being if "<" is the last character in the input string. Since the editinsert function is some ajax based call, it just gives me a generic javascript error indicating whatever webservice it tried to hit for the update threw a 500 error and I have no idea how to debug this.
I need to get the MAC address of the machine which will be hosting web application. Web Application will be hosted locally (just for LAN in small environment). We will provide server which will host the application and the other machines will access the application through the system which we will provide.
We want to hard code the MAC address in ASP.NET application and check it if the application is still being hosted by the same server.
We don't want the client to clone the Hard Drive and use the application somewhere else.
We don't want any information about client machine which will request the web application.
i am using windows server 2003 and 2008 am about to install a web application on a server that is connected to other computers using simple wired network i.e. no active directory, no domain controller etc..
my question is:
is there a way to prevent mac addresses outside my specified list from accessing my application ? should it be through IIS or Web.config or should i put certain code in the page load events.another concern: if i use an SSL to secure my application, is it enough along with a reputable anti virus to prevent a virus to access my server through any network computer using my web application
I host my asp.net application with wcf service on IIS 7 and I want that this location could be possible at adress of my computer in lan, that other in network could get to it..
Now it looks like: http://localhost/wcfAx/Service1.svc
How to do like that : http://192.168.2.33/wcfAx/Service1.svc?
I host a local application on my machine which i provide access on network by normally type "http://computername/app". Can I change it to a real web address format "www.myapplication.org" for my local hosting.
I have a problem with my asp.net web application. During the test process, there was no problem but after a lot of users started to use application, it gets timeout.. Where should i check for this problem?
We have a Web Application (WebApplication A) which is in place and serving fine, we are working on another WebApplication which will use the Engine of Existing Web Application (WebApplication B) to some extent.
Problem: WebApplication A responds when a http request is made for a resource, like LatestPost.aspx, which passes it down to relevant class / Module like FrontManager.cs. I want to know how can we access that Module / class (FrontManager.cs) from WebApplication B, without requesting a Web Page ?
What is the simplest way to redirect a web request to an ASP.NET application to a subdomain? If a request comes into the URL http://somesite.com/foo.aspx, the new destination URL should behttp://www.somesite.com/foo.aspx or http://blog.somesite.com/foo.aspxHow can you programmatically redirect the request to the subdomain, keeping the rest of the URL intact?
I just released a new version of my web application on ASP.NET V4.0 (on IIS 7 Win2008 R2) For some reason, the application Restarts at (almost) every request. I cannot figure out what configuration (although I didn't change it) or code error may cause this problem. Mind this happens on a hosted server - so I have a somewhat limited ability to debug it.
I'm using httpwebrequest but I have a problem when I execute the codes. Like this..in title english = browser not supported. how can I skip this protection this is a facebook protection.
While adding the parameters to get/post request they need to be encoded in application/x-www-form-urlencoded form. So do we need to encode values each time ? Does JavaScript have any method for that ? What are the possible caches ?On server side when we read the values we do not decode them we directly say Request.Params["key"] and that returns value. Does that mean that they are automatically taken care when we read the values?
